I use a Kallax - I have a 4x4 unit with a 1x4 unit secured & stacked on top of it and it gives me 20 cubes to use. Best thing I ever bought for my craft room.

hat did I miss in the SC-verse in the first half of the year? Anything juicy? Welcome back, booty babe! Missed ya too. I am sorry to read about your very difficult start to the year on the other thread. I had a little chuckle at your stepfather being back to his usual grumpy self. Here's to a beautiful summer for you and your family. We are definitely happy to have you back, now that you're now in a place where you can engage with the scrapping world and your pals here again. ❤️ There is something so healing about being immersed in something as simple as cutting and sticking pretty paper. Scrapping has definitely taken a back seat for me recently too but it has been like that for a while. I've found new hobbies and adventures to fill up my evenings and weekends. I did think recently about pausing/stopping memory keeping but I just can't - it's the best. Hope all you other ladies are doing well too. ❤️ This thread has been pretty quiet recently which says a lot doesn't it. 🤣 I can't even be bothered to look most months at SC's collections and sneaks. I didn't buy a single item from their travel line this year which is practically unheard of for me as ALL I scrap is travel. It bothers me that they have stopped producing card sets and instead have moved to papers. I am using IACB's Tourist Mode instead - it's SO good. That combined with her printable from her site make my heart sing!!

I will never know what is true and whats false but what I do know is that photo of them in swimwear with him rocking an obvious hard one is pretty gross & a bit tragic

If a TN is too small, you don't want to be lugging an album around and you're not open to using rings - I would suggest using a larger notebook where you can stamp, write, stick things in. Effectively creating TN/scrapbook layouts in a notebook. Two instagrammers spring to mind for inspo of how this format can work: nancydamiano and retrohipmama. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm4Vf_vu-EX I'm unable to embed any of retrohipmama's posts for some reason but she has lots of posts with a notebook format.

Crumbs. If SC are now doing acrylic rather than photopolymer - might as well buy stamp sets from AliExpress and save ourselves some coin.

All very cute but nothing that really suits my style. I am hoping that Pinkfresh release a collaborative collection with Geralyn Sy (IACB) again this year.

I am here and always reading! I've had some lifestyle changes (all good) and haven't made time to do much scrapbooking recently so I dropped off from posting. But I am carving out the majority of my free time in January to work on my 2022 album so I'll be here more often. I'm glad to hear you're well and I hope your lifestyle changes are benefitting you even if it takes some time away from your paper hobby. Are you doing a PL-style album for 2022? Happy new year to you and your family, by the way! I've been following along with your mother's sweet foster pups and loving the photos! You are both doing the work of angels. Fostering and adoption has a special place in this rescue mama's heart. Aww, thank you. My mother's house just the bridge between a dog's former life and their forever-after and we can only hope that the fosters end up forgetting about it. No matter how much we love on them and care for them, we just want them to move on and be happy with their new forever family. I'm glad I get to contribute to their safe midway haven. Nothing like furry snuggles and walkies... And since you brought up pics, here's the other Pekingese foster she has right now, Monty, who we picked up from the vet clinic just in time for Christmas (two surgeries in two weeks, oof, poor thing), to wish your pup a lovely new year: Thank you for sharing sweet Monty with us! What a precious little face. So many dogs struggle in rescue centres so foster homes really are a safe haven. ❤️ I am still doing PL-style for 2023 but I've decided to limit what I scrap. I have always been an event-based scrapper, but our adventures seem to be getting bigger, which is amazing but it means I have a lot of photos, ephemera and stories to tell from one event. We have a three week road trip planned for May but I've not even scratched the surface from our trip this year. So the plan is to focus on scrapping that three week road trip and I probably won't scrap anything else for the year. I work in 6x8 albums as well so I end up with quite a few for one year! I'll have to dive in over on the PL 2023 thread to read about everyone else's plans. I do love this time of year - goal setting, the excitement of intentions, the anticipation of all the memories to be made and stories to be told.

On a completely different note, has anyone heard from peachiceteas recently? I feel like it's been forever since she stopped by. I hope she's well and just taking time off because she's having way too much fun taking her adopted dog on long forest walks. ETA: Turns out she's active but I keep missing her on the board or something. Anyway, hi-de-hi, Peachy! Bonjour my sweet Booty friend. Thank you for thinking of me. I am here and always reading! I've had some lifestyle changes (all good) and haven't made time to do much scrapbooking recently so I dropped off from posting. But I am carving out the majority of my free time in January to work on my 2022 album so I'll be here more often. I hope you, and all the other gals here, are doing well and all enjoyed December, however you celebrate the end of the year. I've been following along with your mother's sweet foster pups and loving the photos! You are both doing the work of angels. Fostering and adoption has a special place in this rescue mama's heart. I too am a little bit in love with this months DK. I haven't purchased yet, mostly as I'm changing my documenting style a bit this year and I'm not sure I will need the 2023 year cards.

Maybe it's because our legal drinking age is 18, and maybe because most kids drink at 16 or 17, but I find the idea of not letting adults of 20 and 21 drink is really really weird. Me too. I was going to refrain from posting on this thread for that reason but I'm glad that we share the same thought on it. When I was 20, I was living away from home full time in a big city and had been for two years. My parents had pretty much had no say in what I did. My parents actually used to buy me alcohol to take to parties when I was 16/17. They always had the outlook that they would rather know exactly what I was consuming in what quantity, than give me reason to go behind their backs. It worked. I never hid alcohol from them, never caused trouble and never sat on a park bench in the cold drinking alcohol that we'd convinced someone to buy us (unlike quite a few of my friends).

Ditto scrappypeanut - I've never found any of them to be good enough to stand the test of time in my stash. However, you need to do a bit of digging to find the good sellers. Searching keywords such as 'acrylic stamps', 'stamps for cardmaking', 'stamps for crafting' will bring up some listings. Click on a few you like the look of and browse the sellers other items.

I exclusively create 6x8 pocket page albums which I work through chronologically which makes it much easier to keep up the momentum. The progress I have made on the album I'm working on is often clear in my mind and I use the app Trello to help me stay extra organised with digital to-do lists. I find I use the incentive of the next event I will want to scrapbook helps too (eg. Finishing a Summer 2022 project before starting December Daily) otherwise I will just be overwhelmed with projects.
My motivation is still that I want to preserve my memories and tell my stories.
When I want to scrap, I just look at what is next on the list and tackle that.
In terms of inspiration, I rarely look at what other people are doing and tend to focus on the supplies in front of me. I don't share my layouts so I'm not overly interested in replicating other peoples work or creating something that would be considered beautiful - it just has to work for me. Occasionally I'll see something on Instagram and be inspired by it and take a screenshot and then take that into consideration next time I'm working on a project.
6x8 is not a huge space to play with so over the years, I've become a very simple scrapper and I stick to a few key elements. I love journalling cards, labels, chipboard and cardstock pieces.

Honestly scrappyem & others - I don't think you need to take a class for Trello. It's so easy to pick up on your own & there are loads of Youtube videos out there if you need a visual to help you along. You create groups, items within those groups where you can create to-do lists, and drag and drop them around. It's free to open an account and use - I'd really encourage anyone to make an account and have a play.

Over the years, I have definitely contributed to the Studio Calico thread. But SC & AE are one of the few US-based companies that will actually ship to the UK post-Brexit.
And without access to those, I'd have no choice but to rely on digital downloads.
I am doing less purchasing from SC & AE now simply because they don't always have lines or launches that appeal to me. But when they do, I hop right on them.
It's a bit of a crummy situation in that I don't agree with the way they have handled things in the past but my hands are pretty much tied if I want to be able to buy physical product.
Luckily, my online LSS of choice does stock Elle's Studio and Pinkfresh so I wouldn't be completely without product to work with but they're not putting fresh product out all the time.
I would love the option to shop at PaperPerson. That would be a dream. But her products also seem pretty expensive for what they are.

So I wonder what the deal is. Why is SC clearancing out the stamp pockets? And the attacher dies? Are they going to changing up those again? I wondered the same re. stamp pockets. I did buy a pack though as I like them for my Elle's Studio stamps. Will report back when they arrive this week if there's anything dodgy about them. I wouldn't be surprised if they're mixing them up again or potentially dropping them completely in favour for something more eco-friendly. It's probably more likely that they actually ordered in a load and have struggled to sell through them since they are so pricy for what they are.

I would really love to at least start editing the photos from my trip to Canada this spring.
I haven't done any scrapbooking since February so am looking forward to getting back into it, but it's probably ambitious to think I'll create any pages this month. I'll be happy to just be back in my craft room editing and printing photos.
Best of luck everyone with your October goals!

Hey jediannie - sorry for the late reply. I haven't logged in here for a little while but have been viewing the board. Did you decide to go ahead with the class? I've taken an extended leave of absence from scrapbooking for a few months but just yesterday used my Trello board to organise my to-do's from the summer. I still love it and it really helps me brain dump in one place.I feel so much lighter knowing all my scrappy to-do's are recorded somewhere that I don't have to look at until I'm ready.

Love my Instax printer and have used it for years. I have both a Instax Mini and Instax Square camera as well as a printer and I’m in love with the medium. They all work really well for me.

SC are offering a selection of free digital files between today and July 5th. Sounds like they are adding a new file every day. studiocalico.com/shop/15-years-of-studio-calicoThe journalling cards from next months DK are available, as well as labels, tags and a couple of stamps. I'm grabbing the journalling cards!

Gosh I tune out from scrapbooking for a few weeks so I can travel and go and make some memories and I get an email from Ali this evening that I happen to open and read which features the travel launch from weeks (?) ago that I completely missed and appears was even on sale 40% off yesterday. Blooming 'eck.
I've just grabbed a few bits - surprised there was so much left if I'm quite late to the party.

Yes and no.
I really do like the idea of mugs, pins and pouches with sentiments on that are relevant to us. Items I can use whilst I’m crafting or to decorate my space. I like the feeling of being part of something.
I wouldn’t wear a tshirt or carry around a tote though. I’m not interested in anything that would draw attention to me.

Agreed with all the comments about the DK. I do still look forward to seeing SC’s new releases each month but I haven’t bought a DK in so long.
I did however purchase the Wanderlust Outdoor Bundle, the speech mark die cuts and the chipboard pieces. I really do love these muted adventure vibes.

My main concern with this is her unhealthy romanticism of his cause of death. “His heart was too big for this world”. I understand your point. She has been that way this whole time. While not really romanticizing, I would call it idealize. She loves to make him come off as perfect. Too good for this world. A saint in a way for the way hs tackled kids and cell phones that she accesses to spew this stuff. Interesting - I didn’t look at it from that perspective but valid point for sure.

My main concern with this is her unhealthy romanticism of his cause of death. “His heart was too big for this world”. I don't think that is a fair criticism. Let's not forget that she's grieving the death of her husband and the father of her kids and this is one way in which she's dealing with it that isn't causing harm to anyone. It's a coping mechanism. It's the exact same thing I'd do if my husband died tomorrow. She stated the cause of death using facts and then concluded the post with something that brings her comfort. It's also no different than the romanticised idea (in my opinion) of Heaven. And that is something that is widely accepted even if you don't believe in it yourself. I would consider anyone who criticised a grieving widow for believing their husband had gone to Heaven a cold hearted MF. Let people believe what they need to believe. There's a lot that can be criticised or speculated that they both have done over the years but this for me isn't one of them.

I like the Sunnyside DK more than I've liked any of the recent kits. I think I'll pick it up just to supplement my card stash as there are quite a few good, usable cards in the kit. I also quite like the chipboard this month too.

Sounds like I'm one of the few who still uses a camera. I'm devoted to my Canon GX7 Mark II.
It is another piece of equipment to carry around and it's not as reactive as snapping away on an iPhone, sticking a filter on it and uploading it to your social media of choice but I love it.
I love the control I have over the settings, I find the quality of the images to be way superior and I just find it a more enjoyable experience.
I should mention that I do not do daily documenting. I only document life events like vacations and birthdays where image quality is really important to me.
