I took my kids by myself when they were just a little older. This is exactly the advice I would give: My family just went to Disneyland at the beginning of summer. A couple of things: 1. Be there right when the gates open. You can ride on quite a few rides before the lines get really long. 2. If you plan to go on popular rides, get a FastPass (if available) before getting in line for another popular ride. 3. Take a break in the middle of the day. We left around 2 pm and came back about 6. That was perfect for us to relax, eat, nap, and regain our energy for the evening. 4. Take your own snacks and drinks. I had a backpack with water bottles and a small bag of snacks for everyone. Have fun!

I am so very sorry for your loss. I know for most of us pets are part of our families and losing them is the worst. Please know we are here for you if you need anything.

Thank you for this thread!
My doodle is 11 1/2 and is not tolerating the heat well at all. It's actually an issue for both of since she is my service dog. I am very lucky that my husband is able to run errands for me if I can't get out because it is too hot for my dog Phoenix. However if you know someone who has an older service dog, who is on their own, I would encourage people to ask if they need help in case they are in the same situation.
It's great to see people on this board who love their animals so much and want to help others too. You are the best!

I'm so sorry for your loss. This really hits home as I have an 11 1/2 year old goldendoodle that is my everything. My heart just breaks for you. Sending my thoughts and prayers as you through this difficult time.

He should be thrown in jail. A fine for someone this rich means absolutely nothing. He was warned it was illegal and did it anyway; absolutely no excuse for him not going to prison. That there is a possibility this money went to ISIS makes it even worst.
The way this case was handled is exactly what is wrong with our justice system. Our prisons are filled with young, very often black, people who committed minor drug offenses, but this guy did something that may have funneled money to ISIS and he gets off with, what for him, is a hand slap.
I could not be more disgusted with his hypocrisy as well as the punishment for a huge crime.

This is pretty easy for me.
Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley version
Runners up are super hard for me to narrow down but here they are (in no particular order):
Amazing Grace - Harlem Gospel Choir version A Day in the Life, Let It Be and Hey Jude - The Beatles American Pie - Don McLean A Change Is Gonna Come - Sam Cook California Dreamin' - The Mommas & The Pappas Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve Unchained Melody - Righteous Brothers version Don't Look Bank in Anger and Wonderwall - Oasis Ave Maria - it sure I have a favorite version, there are so many good ones Clocks - Coldplay Bridge Over Trobled Water - Simon & Garfunkel No Church in the Wild - Jay Z and Kanye West Jesus Walks - Kanye West Video Games and National Anthem - Lana Del Ray Nothin' But a G Thang - Dr. Dre Heroes - David Bowie Overjoyed - Stevie Wonder Let's Get It On - Marvin Gaye Fly Me to the Moon - Frank Sinatra What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong (though I also love the IZ version) Squeeze - Tempted Allison and Everyday I Write the Book - Elvis Costello Freedom - George Michael In Bloom - Nirvana Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division Imagine - John Lennon Somewhere Over The Rainbow - Judy Garland Sweetness Follows - REM Big Poppa - The Notorious B.I.G. The Shins - Caring is Creepy and New Slang U2 - With or Without You Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton John November Rain - Guns n Roses Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash Hurt - Johnny Cash version Ain't No Mountain High Enough - Diana Ross
Wow - I really couldn't narrow down my runners up! It's obviously apples and oranges comparing Ave Maria to Nothin But a G Thang to Love Will Tear Us Apart which is why it is so hard to narrow them down.

That so called breeder is running a puppy mill! Walk away. Also, I have yet to meet a doodle that isn't a barking maniac. Anyone own a quiet one? I seriously can't stand dogs that bark just to hear themselves! My goldendoodle rarely barks. She only barks if I need help (she is my service dog) and if someone is at the front door.

I have an 11 1/2 year old goldendoodle who is my everything. I can't say enough wonderful things about doodles! I have been involved with several doodle groups over the years and have watched their popularity blow up. You are talking about a mini doodle and from what I have seen over the years, a mini bitch is more likely to have health issues during breeding than other sizes. This in itself would deter me from this arrangement. That said there are a lot of other red flags raised, mostly a really aggressive breeding schedule. I would definitely wait for a puppy. Good luck!

I hope your recovery goes well! Please keep us updated!
I was approved for the surgery two years ago but I got scared and didn't do it. So I would love to hear details about your recovery in terms of how long it takes to get back to normal activities, and if you are happy with your breasts and tummy (I would love to have that done too!). I am a 34 DDD and my breasts are totally out of proportion to my frame. My GP first suggested I have the surgery about 20 years ago because of my back pain but I've always been to chicken to do it. I have a lot of other medical issues and am not afraid of the pain, but the drainage stuff freaks me out. My husbamd travels a lot for work and I worry about how long recovery takes in terms of when will I be able to drive and take care of my doggie.

I used to be a huge Diet Coke drinker. I stopped drinking it about eight years ago and never substituted anything for the caffeine (I was never a coffee or tea drinker). Your body gets used to not having it and I don't feel like I need the caffeine at all.

I've been on both with kids and they were both a lot of fun. As some posters have said, I didn't think there was a huge difference between the two. I like the private islands on all the big cruise lines so that would probably sway my decision. I'm sure you will have a blast whichever you choose!

There won't be a independent investigation and there will be no special prosecutor appointed. The republicans are in power and there is nothing that can be done. Only if there are millions of people protesting in the streets. Then maybe the republicans would do something??? Some are already jumping ship... Richard Burr of NC, and Lindsay Graham of SC are calling for an independent investigation. Trump has pissed off a lot of Republicans... many who would be happy to see Pence in the WH. A little off topic, but Burr is under a lot of pressure at home, here in North Carolina. He won his last election but it was closer than it should have been considering how weak his Democratic opponent was. The changing demographics here have made us a purple state and based on what I have heard from his staff members they have been swamped with calls urging him to not be partisan regarding Trump. I know my husband and I call and write on a weekly basis. We wouldn't vote for Burr anyways but we make it clear we will actively fund his next opponent if he goes along with Trump on every thing just because he ran as a Republican. He knows he is high profile due to his role as Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, and he got absolutely hammered here when he spoke to the White House about the Russia investigation a few months ago. I don't think he will want to go the independent investigation route, but he will definitely keep pursuing the Trump/Russia ties in the Senate as long as it stays in the spotlight.

Thanks so much everyone! Hi, thanks for tagging me @dottyscrapper I'd be happy to help. terri - if you let me know where in the city you'll be staying I can give you very detailed info about where to go and how to get there. There are lots of beautiful places to go in Tokyo that aren't crazy crowded. If you let me know your dates, I would be happy to meet you and act as tour guide. The city can be overwhelming for a first timer on their own. Not sure where we are staying yet (my husband said I could pick) but I will message you when I know. I would love to meet you and truly appreciate your offer!

My husband travels to Asia every few months for work. I am going to tag along with him to Tokyo in just a few weeks. I have never been to Japan. I love planning trips, almost as much as actually traveling, but I feel like I barely have any time to research it. I would be grateful for any help anyone can offer.
We will be there 6 days. My husband will be working during 3 of the days so I will have 3 days on my own. My husband asked me what area I would like to stay in but I'm clueless. I like walking around neighborhoods with quirky shops and antique stores; I have plenty of opportunities to go to high end designer stores so I'm not as interested in those. I love museums, gardens, interesting architecture and general sight seeing. Anything I should absolutely see?
I'm also wondering if it will be relatively easy to order food by myself. My diet is very limited and I don't eat seafood or fish of any kind.
Thanks in advance!

We paid all of my daughter's expenses in college including tuition and it never occurred to us to put conditions on it. Luckily my daughter is graduating next week so not something I have to worry about at this point. I don't think there is anything wrong with setting ground rules as long as it doesn't come off like a lack of confidence in your kids.

With all my medical issues and many misdiagnosis along the way, my attitude with all information from doctors is trust but verify. Vitamin D is no different. I think the best thing to do is get tested if you think you need to but familiarize yourself with the ranges so you can talk to the doctor about whether or not you really need to supplement. When tested, my vitamin D is often in single digits so I do wind up taking a prescription level when it is that low and take vitamin D supplements even when it is not low to try to prevent it getting that low. I'm not sure I understand how people are overdosing on it if they are following directions. Any supplement can hurt you if you aren't following instructions so I wonder if that is the case with some of those overdoses.

I am so sorry. I haven't been through it personally but my friends that have say the very first thing you should do is get an attorney. I would not leave the house until you have some kind of attorney approved written separation agreement in place.
I have been married 25 years and would have the same concerns as you. I know for me it would be scary, heartbreaking and overwhelming. I have seen other Peas who have gone through this get really good advice and support here. So please know people are here for you. Sending huge hugs your way.

Worse than that are the polls that Trump supporters do not have "buyers remorse" with their vote and that Trump would win the popular vote if the election was today!!!! WTF! The morons in this country continue to disgust me. I am absolutely flummoxed by that. I would be so embarrassed if I voted for Trump but I would admit I made a mistake and voice my disapproval regarding his flip flops, lies, and terrible behavior. He has proven himself to be every bit as bad as I feared.

My daughter goes to the University of Maryland. College Park is not the nicest area when you get off campus, so you may just want to do DC in terms of staying. Or ask the Admissions office for hotel recommendations - they could probably steer you to a better place. But I wanted to warn you that the College Park metro station is going to be closed for a couple of weeks this spring, so you might want check and make sure that you can get in and out of College Park easily if you end up being car-less. That makes me so sad to hear it isn't a nice area off campus anymore. I graduated in 1988 and back then College Park had nice neighborhoods off campus.

hange NK leader to Trump. Would it be okay for them to do it to the US? We have a batshit crazy, unpresidential leader. Goodness now you put me in a position to defend our President Thanks He is no where near the level of the leader of NK. Im sorry but he isn't. And we in this country have a wonderful tradition of changing out our leaders when we see fit. Which I have a feeling is going to happen with President Trump sooner rather than later. The people of NK do not have that choice. They cannot stand up for themselves against their leader like we can and do here in this country, without the threat of being tortured or killed, or worse, left alone but family being tortured or killed.. You cannot compare the two at all. And now I have to go take a shower. It is an awful situation no doubt but assasination is not the answer. It is a violation of international law, a violation of US law for the very reason that we did try it before and as a country we have determined that it was and is wrong, and absolutely immoral as we would be making a decision that would have even worst consequences for other countries such as South Korea and Japan than it would for us.
