Good morning. I'm on day 2 of stalking the vaccine for next week. How'd it go jeremysgirl? I'm still quite under the weather, so it'll be another boring day of full-time rest. I was too tired too cook last night. I made a pot of rice for dh, so that he could have rechauffe chicken bowl and that was a big effort. Sheesh. Dinner will be pasta ameritreciana, because it's an easier meal. Though if I'm just wiped out it'll be takeout.
What's on your menu?
Wishing a healthy day to our peas who are dealing w/owies, illness and doggies on Pred. Enjoy your day and remember to find something that makes you happy and do it today or tonight.

scrapmaven - Sorry to hear you are still under the weather. Take it easy and let the guys do take away! You need to rest and not feel guilty about it! Having a stay home/work day today. Wrapping up taxes hopefully, doing a bit of online banking and then some sewing. Weather is very overcast today which lends itself to that kind of day. Time change has us all wonky on eating times. Last night about 7:30 I finally scrambled some eggs and toasted some fresh sourdough bread. Dinner tonight will be the fish and veggies we didn't have last night.

scrapmaven - Sorry to hear you are still feeling so poorly. Please take good care of yourself It is Tuesday so that means tacos today. DH finally made me make a Dr's appointment for my back and x'rays say I have a fractured vertabrae. So no wonder it is painful. Not much to do except take Aleve and time. I will continue to hobble around like I'm 110. Have a good day!

We are having Cioppino and garlic bread tonight. Tacos are planned for tomorrow but now that I think about it, since it’s Tuesday it feels kind wrong not to do today. 😂 my knee is bothering me a bit from going to hard on my bike yesterday. Probably just yoga and Pilates today for exercise to give it a chance to rest. Have a good day all!

Nope, no luck for me on a vaccine this morning scrapmaven. I'm really sorry you are still under the weather today. Rest, lots of rest. I had a manic episode this morning but I'm starting to feel better now. I got a new rescue med. It's a bit more subtle than the old, meaning it took a while to feel any effect, but at least I'm not knocked out sleeping. And that's what we were trying to prevent. But I still lost about two hours worth of work to it. I went for a run. It felt nice in the cold. I'm dreaming about how much yarn a $1400 stimulus check could provide. I'm thinking that could be one huge stash. I won't spend the whole stimulus check on a stash of yarn, but it's fun to dream. I am buying two skeins of yarn this week for a project. Dinner tonight will be a honey garlic sticky chicken stir fry with snap peas. Jeremy will hate it, but he'll eat it. Sounds good to me, though.

But in the meantime, ouch!

Hello and good morning. Bit of a stimmy, Autistic, impulse control morning and school session. Letting ds just chill out and after it warms up we will go outside to play.
Wondering if his new music therapy class set this all in motion. Kids always need a day or two to process and deal with sensory input from a new activity or adventure. He had it last night. 🤷♀️
Today I have my Giada DeL event with WilliamSonoma. It is on-line. My signed book comes today.
I am bummed though that Kate Hudson is a cohost...she was in Sia's movie that had an Autistic character in a very very very bad light and used restraints in the movie. 🤬
I wrestled with getting a refund but I really like Giada so I am going.
Since that is at 5pm I am serving lime chicken taco salads. Going to have everything made up and then we can each fix ours when ready.

psiluvu, Ouch. You might want to try some acupuncture in order to get help dealing w/the pain. I hope that you are able to stay comfortable. Take it easy and here's a gentle ((((HUG)))). jeremysgirl, I'm sorry that you started your day with a manic episode. Arrrgh. Though it's good to hear about your new rescue med. You handle your disease w/aplomb. Just remember that whatever your brain tells you, you are a wonderful, thoughtful, strong, fantastic woman and you have many people who love and care about you. So there.

I will continue to hobble around like I'm 110. OUCH! I'm sorry to hear that! Get well soon! I've got to e-mail two parents today about the poor behaviour of their children in my class ... complete disrespect ... so tired of it! I didn't end up eating pasta for dinner last night so I think that will happen tonight ... easy peasy!

leannec , when you email the parents do they work w/you to change their children's behavior? You've mentioned that you're in a challenging district. We have reminded ODS that he could be sent to a more challenging district to student teach. He wants to teach in the cushy district here and I hope he does. If not, he needs to be willing to work with students who have absentee parents and no support for education. I defer to our pea teachers and I'm trying to learn from you.

scrapmaven thank you. I posted this on my Facebook wall today. I think people just don't realize how physical mental health issues are. I'm still sitting here hours later trying not to clench my teeth and my focus and concentration will be affected all day. 5 am...wake up with stomach ache. Think I'm having a digestion issue. 6 am...eat something because I had a light dinner and maybe I'm just hungry. 7 am...start to feel dizzy. But log into work and try to get done as much of my must get done on Tuesday work. Have trouble concentrating, the thoughts are swirling in my head. Must look up how to do something I've done a million times. 8 am...having all the crazy thoughts. Realize I'm clenching my teeth and flexing all the muscles in my legs. Decide to try my new rescue med and hope it works. Lay down in bed. Get up five minutes later because I can't sit still. Decide to run. Put on loud music to drown out the thoughts in my head. Don't do my normal intervals that's too much concentration. Run as hard as I can until my legs feel like they are going to fall off. Then walk until I recover and repeat over and over again. Go 1.4 miles before getting bored and come home. 9 am...take a shower and spend half an hour dancing in the bathroom to the loud music which drown out the thoughts in my head. Notice I'm still clenching my teeth and take 2 ibuprophen for the headache that is coming because I'm clenching my teeth. Notice the thoughts are starting to slow down and my body feels calm now. 10 am...log back into work. Rescue med plus run in the cold makes me feel almost normal again. 5 hours start to finish manic episode. I may be able to salvage this day.

Today is my little Sophia’s birthday. Sadly, she wasn’t able to call me, as she was not feeling well - my DS was called only an hour after she was dropped at day care to come pick her up. She didn’t even get excited for cake, so she must have been feeling bad. I had a mainly lazy day - I went out for a walk, and when I was about half way around my route - so, as far from home as I could be - it started to snow! Better than rain, I guess, but it was freezing.
Dinner here tonight is pulled pork and coleslaw. Easy - just put the meat in the oven for half an hour, and DH bought ready made coleslaw.

Some parents are able to cause improvement but usually nothing changes ... by the time these kids are this age (11 or 12), they have set personalities ... rude kids usually continue their rudeness New teachers often end up in challenging schools ... your ds will find that out!

Dinner again? We had chicken soup last night and grilled cheese. That hit the spot for a cold cloudy day. I didn't make it to the store, so I will do that tonight. I may try one of their premade chicken street taco kits. Maybe make some enchiladas to go with. Rest! scrapmavenOuch! psiluvuGlad you are feeling better jeremysgirl and the rescue med didn't put you out for the day.

I spent half an hour of the senior hour at Home Goods. I'm reorganizing my pantry and need to buy some stuff. Plus fun stuff I've thought about buying and decided to go for it. DS loves giving me Home Goods gift cards so I had $150 worth in my purse. Dinner tonight is from our favorite place that has the $29 Dinner for Two with a bottle of wine. Here's what on tap ~ it's Adult Mac and Cheese topped with Pork Carnitas and Tomato-Avocado Salsa. Hugs and healing thoughts to our tribe-mates who are ailing.

jeremysgirl Since it was so muddy in areas and not as difficult a hike (except for the winds) I used my older shoes. ☺️ But I do plan on changing to them! Thanks for asking. 😘

Seeing how we had the fish last night (best ever according to Dad) I am thinking these flattened, marinated chicken. I have plenty of vegetables and may steam Japanese rice. I really want a new rice cooker. I have one that’s fine but I would like a small one. I got the kids a tiny one and they love theirs. I am just thinking here.
It’s bright and sunny here today but is a little bit cold. My floor was really cold earlier.

Speaking of teaching, here in my area those in the credential program are set up to student teach with the city the college is in.
My dh is in a mentor program where he gets 1 student teacher every year from the local Cal State program. He is at a high school on the campus of a Community College so he has it pretty good. They teach all honors accelerated along with college courses that students take to graduate with a diploma and AA.
Before that he had honors at his old site. District is an inner city, low income district but has great programs in place.
In my city, the Uni sends their student teachers to my kids district.
But honestly the program my dh is in is awesome. The student teachers get a ton of support.

OH my word! I am so terribly sorry for what some of you are going through right now! The fact that you are even concerned about what is for dinner tonight makes your all rock stars in my book!
cadoodlebug That mac and cheese looks incredible!!!
I will be making the copycat recipe for Carrabba's sausage and lentil soup. I will substitute the Italian sausage with turkey Italian sausage.
I wish everyone my best!!!

HA! No, I'm fortunate that our in-store bakery at HEB makes a really good buttermilk sourdough they will slice for you. Being a former San Francisco resident, it's not as good as the real thing but will do in a pinch!

I am saying prayers for all that are feeling bad and hopefully appointments for those wanting the vaccine. I am finally getting my 1st shot of the Pfizer vaccine on Friday. It was a huge struggle to get the appointment. We are having steak, baked sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese for dinner tonight.
