Your daily posts on those obscure facts helped me find a Christmas gift for my ODS. He watches a lot of youtube and has found some sort of animal facts channel. If you want to know the breeding habits of a marmoset or the size of a what'sit penis, he's your guy. And he can work these facts into conversations with his friends and I find that hilarious. DD and I were out on BF and meandering to a movie. We stopped in to TJMaxx. I happened to be looking at books and found one titled "Atlas Obscura". I thought of you immediately. I flipped through it and thought this is a perfect book for B. So, thanks to your wonderful threads, he has more facts to wow his friends with.

I didn't know about Atlas Obscura before- it is one of my favourites now. My obscure knowledge was always pretty impressive, but it's way better now thanks to librarylady ! 😁

Another voice of thanks, Library Lady. And I’m curious about your “Pea” name. Care to elaborate?

I second your vote of thanks to Library Lady. Awesome gift, btw! Guinness Book of World Records might be another one for your son.

You are welcome, all of you.
I often worry, believe it or not, that I am annoying the hell out of someone. (Ga, here she goes again!)...and sometimes I feel guilty that the rest of you are sharing very personal stuff and I am tossing out random information. ..but yet I continue. hahaha

I am a retired librarian.
I loved finding information when I was working. I'm an information "nut." Need trivia facts--I'm your woman. LOL

Oh wow---can I send a PM to you to show your son? I'd LOVE to know about a what'sit penis, and MANY other obscure things !!!!!! (I'm being silly and kidding, just in case that isn't clear). But seriously, I will add a THANK YOU to dear librarylady . I have read the most interesting, obscure, intriguing things from your posts! I don't read ALL of them, but many of them are too cool to pass up. Your recent one about the vintage train menus was VERY cool---my Dad and I enjoyed it.

So, thanks to your wonderful threads, he has more facts to wow his friends with. Oooh, I need to go to TJMaxx and see if they have any! This book would be a great gift for a few people I know, and maybe I'd grab a copy for me. Thanks for the info! I'll bet if it wasn't for our awesome library lady, I probably wouldn't have noticed that book at all.

She was a Librarian and loved sharing random facts and she would often email me links of random stuff she found that she thought I needed to know about. Anyway, all that to say, keep sharing.

I just saw the new one for 2020 at Costco and it wasn’t all that expensive. I almost bought it for DD but after dropping $50 on other books for her at the book fair this week (and the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid a couple weeks earlier that I’m making her wait until Christmas break to read and it’s killing her) I thought that was probably enough new books for a while!

These posts expose me to things that I wouldn't normally be exposed to. And truth, I have a very inquisitive 11 year old niece who I often share library lady's links with who finds them fascinating.
