She has quite a laundry list this wealth tax is going to pay for. And if I’m not mistaken part of the wealth tax is going toward paying for Medicare 4 All as well. What happens to all those plans if a) she can’t get that tax through Congress and b) the tax doesn’t bring near as much as she adverting that it will. Then what?

Reuters...
”Iran's Zarif accuses U.S. of violating U.N. deal by denying him a visa”
Seems to me if the US was really interested in finding a diplomatic solution they would let this guy come to the US and speak at the UN.
Yes he is going to spout propaganda but if this country had a real reason for taking out that general it wouldn’t be a problem. But don’t do we.

You didn’t answer the question what happens if Warren’s wealth tax doesn’t bring as much as she says it will. I mean she is planning on using that money to pay for a lot of programs. What happens if it falls short? Cut programs or tax the middle class? As far as GET IT THROUGH, will it happen in my lifetime? Your lifetime? And in the meantime what are the people that will benefit from these programs suppose to do? And other programs that depend on other taxes on corporations & the 1% gang. Again, what are people suppose to do while waiting? It’s certainly not going to happen in 2020, we’ll be lucky to kick trump out. We may keep the majority in the House but it will be a real long shot to have 60 Democratic Senators the day after Election Day 2020. How long are people going to have to wait to get what both Warren and Sanders are promising and what are they suppose to do in the meantime? And what happens if their taxes don’t generate the revenue what they are promising that it will? My whole gripe has been Warren and Sanders are betting the farm on their ability to get theses tax hikes through Congress and that they will generate enough revenue to pay for all their programs and if it doesn’t happen, sometime down the road, there is no plan B. And I’m thinking I’m not the only one that has doubts and that is why Biden is sitting on the top of the polls and Mayor Pete is doing as well as he is.

NPR... ”Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says Republicans will move on and establish rules for an impeachment trial of President Trump without input from Democrats.” That was Moscow Mitch’s plan all along. I don't really see how they can, considering there aren't any Articles of Impeachment that have been TRANSFERRED to the Senate at this point, yet. ?? And isn't input into the Senate trial what Nancy Pelosi WANTS?? Who has said the Democrats don't want to give input? He is SUCH a WEASEL!!! Don't the Senate Dems at least get to give input? (it's the very same game they played all through the House investigations... they *say* they want witnesses, but then they *block* the very witnesses who have info. They *say* they want input from the Democrats, but when the Dems want to give their input, they're suddently not interested in collaborating. It's all a dog and pony show. (or instead of pony, better yet: ass; as in head-up-Trump's...)

Pssst. I did answer. You keep working through it. One step at a time. Because I cannot do everything doesn’t mean I shouldn’t do anything. Well actually you didn’t answer b) what happens if the wealth and other taxes don’t generate enough revenue to pay for what Warren and Sanders are promising? And the you didn’t answer what are people suppose to do waiting for all this to happen. Are you running for office? Because you certainly should like someone who is by the way you are evading answering my simple questions. You do know why Warren started to drop in the polls don’t you? It’s because of her 4 year transitional plan to move all people to Medicare 4 all. It seems some progressives didn’t like that answer. It would appear they don’t want to wait. I guess they think she has a magic wand that she can waive to make it so. If I may, you are making the incorrect assumption that there is only one way and it’s the progressive way. When in fact there are almost always other options to achieve a goal, it’s just the matter of coming up with the best way to achieve the goals. And if you can’t answer my two questions, then I’m thinking the progressive way may not be the best way to quickly achieve the goals we all want and need. In full disclosure I’m not a fan of free 4 year colleges or forgiving student debt. But I think junior college if it has some sort of trade school associated should be tuition free. In fact Sonoma County just got a grant of $7M to put together, in conjunction with the junior college, a program to train folks who want to get into the construction business. There is a real need for housing, especially after the recent wildfires, and a real shortage of the folks need to build and remodel these houses.

Ok here is what the Democrats need to do. Reopen the current articles of impeachment, subpoena everyone they want to talk to. The a White House will fight it, it will then go to the courts and drag on for months. The one thing trump doesn’t want. He wants to be acquitted now.

I am a fan for free 4 year colleges AND trade schools, and forgiving student debt, also free childcare and more money for education and less money for vulture capitalism, hedge fund shenanigans, tax games, the richest paying zero or lower taxes than the middle, etc. etc. etc. If Plan A doesn't bring in the requisite funds, you make adjustments. But you seem to be dead set against progressive policies. That's your right. Just as it's my right to champion them and rail against our current putrid system where the richest skate w/no or low taxes compared to the wearied and overburdened middle.

"California investor charged with obstructing probe of Trump inaugural donation" www.politico.com/states/california/story/2020/01/07/california-investor-charged-with-obstructing-probe-of-trump-inaugural-donation-1246082"A prolific California donor who pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations now faces a fresh charge for allegedly trying to stymie an investigation into the source of money he donated to the Trump inauguration committee. Prosecutors in the Southern District of New York unveiled an obstruction of justice charge against Imaad Zuberi, an investor who last year pleaded guilty to making illegal campaign contributions and failing to disclose his lobbying work on behalf of foreign clients. Zuberi has a long history of donating millions of dollars to both Democrats and Republicans, including a $900,000 outlay for the Trump inaugural." Sounds like a great candidate for a White House posting - after he's convicted and then pardoned, of course.

I think, no. The ONLY way to fix any of this is CHANGE and any change is going to take risk. It can't be worse than what we have now. Neither Sanders nor Warren are my preference for president. However, I will vote AGAINST Trump no matter who it is.

I thought I was being clear when I said what are people suppose to do while waiting for this to happen. Maybe not. If a Democrat is elected they need to be able to move quickly and undo the damage trump has done as well as put in programs that need to be done. Now. IMO there is not time to waste trying to get all these big tax hikes through that may or may not bring in the revenue a Sanders and Warren claim they will. IMO again they are making promises built on a foundation of cards that one tiny flick of a finger could bring the whole enchilada tumbling down. Then what. And yes I will vote for either Sanders or Warren.

Ivanka and Trump Organization linked to Suleimani’s front company: New Yorker writerPublished 2 days ago on January 5, 2020By Sarah K. Burris New Yorker writer Adam Davidson tweeted Sunday that when Iran leaders set up front companies to try and acquire weapons of mass destruction that the Trump Organization met with one of those front groups. “One of Soleiman’s chief goals was to acquire WMD missile systems that could threaten Israel and US installations,” Davidson wrote on Twitter Sunday. “He assigned the job to his ally, Mohamed Bagher Ghalibaf. When sanctions began, the IRGC used front companies to handle WMD acquisition.” He explained that the Darvishi brothers, who served as chief deputies to Ghalibaf, set up one of the largest and most successful fake companies named Azarpassillo. The main partner was Azerbaijan’s Minister of Transport, Ziya Mammadov, who sent his son to the United States to meet with the Trump Organization and other businesses.( see tweets below) “Mammadov sent his son, Anar, to the U.S. in 2010 to develop business ties with U.S. companies,” Davidson tweeted. “He spent lavishly but got no takers. It was well-known that the Mammadovs laundered money for the IRGC and were wildly corrupt. Only one American business worked with them.”It was President Donald Trump’s company.“Ivanka worked extremely closely with the Mammadovs on their absurd tower,” Davidson explained. In 2015, the Trump Org acknowledged they knew the Mammadovs were likely laundering money for the IRGC. They kept working with them until after the 2016 election.”In a 2017 report in the New Yorker, The Trump Organization would not confirm a 2012 visit with Mammadov. Davidson tweeted to the three-year-old piece, saying that the Trump Organization confirmed the New Yorker article.See the full thread from Davidson on his Twitter. link: www.rawstory.com/2020/01/ivanka-and-trump-organization-linked-to-suleimanis-front-company-new-yorker-writer/?utm_source=&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=3383

Then there is this: Donald Trump’s Worst DealA Reporter at Large March 13, 2017 Issue The President helped build a hotel in Azerbaijan that appears to be a corrupt operation engineered by oligarchs tied to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. By Adam Davidson March 5, 2017 ** A month after Trump was elected President, Garten announced that the Trump Organization had severed its ties with the hotel project, describing the decision to CNN as little more than “housecleaning.” I was in Baku at the time, and it had become clear that the Trump Organization’s story of the hotel was incomplete and inaccurate. Trump’s company had made the deal not just with Anar Mammadov but also with Ziya’s brother Elton—an influential member of the Azerbaijani parliament. Elton signed the contracts, and in an interview he confirmed that he founded Baku XXI Century, the company that owns the Trump Tower Baku. When he was asked who owns Baku XXI Century, he called it a “commercial secret” but added that he “controlled all its operations” until 2015, when he cut ties to the company. Elton denied having used his political position for profit. An Azerbaijani lawyer who worked on the project revealed to me that the Trump Organization had not just licensed the family name; it also had signed a technical-services agreement in which it promised to help its partner meet Trump design standards. Technical-services agreements are often nominal addenda to licensing deals. Major hospitality brands compile exhaustive specifications for licensed hotels, and tend to approve design elements remotely; a foreign site is visited only occasionally. But in the case of Trump Tower Baku the oversight appears to have been extensive. The Azerbaijani lawyer told me, “We were always following their instructions. We were in constant contact with the Trump Organization. They approved the smallest details.” He said that Trump staff visited Baku at least monthly to give the go-ahead for the next round of work orders. Trump designers went to Turkey to vet the furniture and fabrics acquired there. The hotel’s main designer, Pierre Baillargeon, and several contractors told me that they had visited the Trump Organization headquarters, in New York, to secure approval for their plans. Ivanka Trump was the most senior Trump Organization official on the Baku project. In October, 2014, she visited the city to tour the site and offer advice. An executive at Mace, the London-based construction firm that oversaw the tower’s conversion to a hotel, met with Ivanka in Baku and New York. He told me, “She had very strong feelings, not just about the design but about the back of the hotel—landscaping, everything.” The Azerbaijani lawyer said, “Ivanka personally approved everything.” A subcontractor noted that Ivanka’s team was particular about wood panelling: it chose an expensive Macassar ebony, from Indonesia, for the ceiling of the lobby. The ballroom doors were to be made of book-matched panels of walnut. On her Web site, Ivanka posted a photograph of herself wearing a hard hat inside the half-completed hotel. A caption reads, “Ivanka has overseen the development of Trump International Hotel & Tower Baku since its inception, and she recently returned from a trip to the fascinating city in Azerbaijan to check in on the project’s progress.” (Ivanka Trump declined requests to discuss the Baku project.) ** Link: www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/03/13/donald-trumps-worst-dealI knew I had seen pictures of this building before !!

100% reliable? Not always, but lots of good stuff too! Explosive report indicates that Donald Trump's loans from Deutsche Bank were backed by RussiaMark Sumner Daily Kos Staff Friday January 03, 2020 · 10:19 AM EST ** But onto that stack of dog-wagging rationales add this one: According to Forensic News, Trump’s loans from Deutsche Bank were underwritten by a Russian state-owned bank. That news reportedly comes from a whistleblower with access to documents from both Deutsche Bank and Russia’s state-owned VTB Bank. VTB Bank was also the proposed lender on the never-completed Trump Tower Moscow project. The question of why Deutsche Bank would extend a series of huge loans to Trump has been dangling since before he ever announced his candidacy for president on a golden escalator ride. When Trump first went to Deutsche Bank, he was worse than broke. He had just finished bankrupting multiple casinos in New Jersey, and then had convinced investors to back a takeover of those casinos at a fraction of the original value. Then Trump deliberately allowed the investment group to go bankrupt so he could grab the whole deal himself at a fraction of what his investors had paid. Then he went bankrupt. Again. And along the way he was socked with a massive fine for money laundering at his now bankrupt (again) casino. Trump was so fiscally radioactive that no American bank would let him in the door. But Deutsche Bank turned around and gifted Trump with loans that gave him a fresh start and an apparently miracle turnaround of his New York real estate empire. Those loans have always been the subject of head-scratching over just what Deutsche Bank could have been thinking. But if Forensic News is right, what Deutsche Bank was thinking was that it wasn’t risking a damn thing, because the Russian government was actually vouching for Trump through VTB Bank. If Trump didn’t come through, Vladimir Putin was offering to make it good. The documents supposedly originated with the son of a former Deutsche Bank official who committed suicide, which is very much the kind of connection that raises concerns about the authenticity of the information. This only highlights the importance of efforts by Congress to gain access to information on these loans. The last appeals court ruling in the case instructed Deutsche Bank to turn over the information, but the Supreme Court stepped in to block the subpoena and hear the case. ** Much of Trump’s “recovery” depended on selling apartments and buildings to Russian oligarchs at far above market prices. Those deals have always suggested the same kind of money laundering that added to the conviction of Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort, but if these accusations are accurate, Russia did far more for Trump than buy his gilded condos. ** www.dailykos.com/stories/2020/1/3/1909205/-Explosive-report-indicates-that-Donald-Trump-s-loans-from-Deutsche-Bank-were-back-by-Russia?detail=emaildkre

”There was an effort to get him to sort of take his time, to be judicious, to be measured in how he responded to this," The Washington Post's Philip Rucker says of aides' counsel to Pres. Trump after Iran's strike on Iraq bases.”
That is near on impossible for trump. I will be surprised if and when trump addresses the American People it doesn’t turn into a train wreck.

Ivanka speaking at CES is a joke of the first order.
Miss "Born w/a silver spoon up her butt, has never built a thing w/o millions of daddy's money backing her, slaps her name on cheap Chinese crap" apparently knows enough to speak as "a woman in tech" at the largest consumer electronics show in the US.
Disgusting.

Jared Yates Sexton ...
”I...just...can't with this media coverage.
Trump wasn't measured. He promised more interference in the Middle East even as Iran demanded we leave.
HE ACCUSED A FORMER PRESIDENT OF TREASON.
He revealed top secret weapons programs in a threat to wipe out another country.”
“He wheezed. He mispronounced everything. He obviously had no handle on the situation. He proposed expanding the conflict to include NATO and pushed the concept of an alliance against Iran.
What's it going to take for these people to see what's in front of their faces?”
Apparently trump’s speech was indeed a train wreck. And as usual it’s all President Obama’s fault.

Apparently trump’s speech was indeed a train wreck. I can't bring myself to watch him speak any more. Watching him and listening to him speak literally makes me nauseous. I'll wait for the Twitter / NSBR recap... sorry, to anyone else who got the info firsthand, but I'm waiting to hear about it from someone else. And thank you in advance to whoever summarizes it for us!
