My mouth is watering just reading about all the wonderful things you ladies have been cooking....and I'm not even hungry. My cooking today was of the butter and sugar variety: dozen of cookies. We're doing Christmas on Friday as the newly married granddaughter and her husband are with his family in South Carolina today. It seems a little strange on some levels but the love, laughter and unwrapping will be the same, just postponed a couple of days.

No special Christmas day meal for us, but we had a safe and uneventful trip across country. We are settled in our room after walking the strip. It is super crowded on the strip tonight but we did enjoy seeing all the decorations at the Bellagio. Had pizza for dinner.

We had cinnamon rolls and fruit salad for breakfast then headed to see the Star Wars movie.
Had dinner at dd’s They made lasagna with salad. My sil made homemade bread.
I made apple pear pie. I didn’t chill the pie crust long enough.

It was the typical Christmas dinner here. I baked a ham. DH smoked a turkey. We had baked macaroni and cheese, sweet potato casserole, broccoli casserole, deviled eggs, green beans, skillet corn, stuffing, mashed potatoes and Hawaiian rolls with copycat Texas Roadhouse butter (that was a HUGE hit!). Pumpkin & cherry pies and tons of cookies/fudge/brownies.

I have never made a pie before but was going to and decided it was beyond my skill set. I want a deep dish apple pie. |

Delta Dawn my recipe says at least 30 mins. That wasn’t long enough.
