What is everyone doing for a September prompt?
While I applaud Ali for coming up with something new and interactive it’s not for me and I am not making a spinner. Might just write the letter and call it done-zo!

I've seen some cute examples in the group but haven't read through the prompt yet. Not sure about a spinner either. It might be fun to create but I don't see myself actually using it. I'm still trying to finish July.

OLW check in....
I'm all caught up. I haven't been feeling Ali's prompts so I've just been doing my own.
For August I journaled on 8-3x4 cards using different prompts ("I currently believe" & "I am focusing on") from one of the past OLW stamp sets from last year.
For September I printed a 6x8 selfie and wrote a letter to myself in the white space. I did this last year and really liked how it turned out so I wanted to do it again.
I don't care for the music prompt so I'm either going to do a gratitude theme prompt or another thru the lens prompt for this month.
How is everyone else doing?

I did a "thru the lens" for September, wasn't feeling the spinner idea. I need to revisit my old Zune running playlists. I should make a new one for my next big bike ride in November. I mainly listen to podcasts while biking (one earbud-thingy in)but I should revisit my music.

I still haven't done last months prompt. I am not really enjoying her prompts here lately. And i haven't looked at this month, but I am sure its the music one. I will go rouge, I am sure.

I fell off the wagon. Again. This year has been like 75 years long I'm sure of it!

I finally finished July this past weekend and even managed to print a couple of pictures to use with the August prompt. I need to do the journaling for August and print it out. I'm using the back side of the 8.5x11 pocket pages from the July prompt so I'm going to keep this one as easy as possible. Citygirl I really like the idea of a letter to myself for Sept. Thanks for that! I've also started thinking a little about next year's word but nothing has come to me yet.

Most years I fall behind and end up completing 2-3 months at once.

September was just an all around awful month for me personally and I fell off all my craft projects, including OLW, and posting on these boards. But I'm back now! I had actually created the spinner in the beginning of the month before things got too bad but I never actually used it, and I don't have a spinner in my stash so I didn't have a way to effectively make it. I decided that I do like the idea though because I need something to prompt me to be less lazy so my plan was to do it every day in October. I kind of fell off of that because we had a 3 day black-out and then I needed a recovery period, but I feel like that's a fair excuse so I'm going to pick it back up again today.
I love the music prompt, personally, because I am such a music person and I had actually started a playlist for my OLW back in January. I started making quote cards and created 6 but I want to finish it up later this week. I am also sticking with decorating my dividers and that is really making my album feel more "me" and more complete. I will come back later and share some photos of the less personal details in my album.

The year is almost over. How did everyone do?
I’m caught up except for the December prompt which I’m going to complete at the end of the month.
I was going to skip this project next year but the promise of guest hosts in the OLW class actually got me excited to do it again. No clue what my word will be. Will you be joining in again next year?

Just yesterday I came to the epiphany that I "don't" have to have a word or do OLW for 2021. It was very releasing. Some projects that have carried over have started to feel a bit like a burden, and I realized I can chuck them. I am going to do what I call "The 55 Project" which is because I turn age 55 in 21. At the moment, I'm not selecting or thinking about a word.

I haven't started Decembers prompt yet, but I *think* I am caught up til December. Need to double check that.
For next year, I am going to participate again. I've already chosen my word: HEART. I am still on the fence about taking Ali's workshop again, but I will probably give in. If she were only hosting it herself, I'd pass. I think she has fallen into a routine and its all predictable at this point to me. But with others participating, I am hoping it will get a breath of fresh air.

But with others participating, I am hoping it will get a breath of fresh air. I've never completed a year of OLW, but thinking of trying it again in 2021. Where can I find information about the workshop changes for next year? All I see on the AE site is 2020 info.

I saw it on Instagram stories, I think, so maybe check her instagram and see if she saved them or if they were in a post there.

She talked a little about it in the December OLW classroom for this year. She is going to be the host for January, June, and December...the months with the written prompts. Guest hosts will be doing all the other months.....presenting the prompt and doing the Monday message emails. I think she said they will also do a live chat together that will be recorded. Ali is still making an album. The new class launches December 16th so there should be more information available soon I would think.

I think I'm caught up through Oct but need to check too. I never managed to do the Feb prompt and I won't go back and try. Just letting that month go. I keep my OLW in my yearly PL albums so it isn't noticeable. I've done the writing for Nov but not the layout. I haven't started December yet. I'm so far behind in my PL albums right now and I have yet to even start my DD. Whoops.
I'm excited to have the guest contributors next year. I think it will breath some new life in the class. I don't know what my word will be yet for 2021. I typically "know" by now. I like knowing early because I usually get a piece of jewelry from ETSY with my word on it. But it's fine, I know it will show up eventually.

Ok, I ordered the White folio and journal combo. I wanted a change so I'm doing this instead of an album....wish me luck.
Have you figured out your word for 2021? I'm trying to nail it down, but having a hard time.

I'm trying to nail it down, but having a hard time. I picked my word earlier in the month - Heart. Thought about changing it after Ali chose it as well but decided to keep it. I haven't bought a kit or purchased the class. I do not like the brown/cream in the kit but would consider using digital. I have already decided to use my Felicity Jane kit for this project (I've done this for years). I dont think I am going to buy the class. Its just too much, IMHO, when most of the content will be previous years prompts. I don't care, really, what the contributors do -- OLW is for me and I try not to look at what others are doing because it causes me to lose focus. My plan is to make my own prompt monthly and do my own thing.

I found my supplies I was going to use for 2020, so I have what I need.
I did pick up the monthly review pages, because I want to incorporate that into my book.
Still not sure of my word. I want it to be special because I have a milestone birthday this year.
I did get the class, because I'm excited about new contributions from different people.
