Yes, rings come off in the kitchen and go on my little ring holder on the windowsill. Besides the ick factor, I tend to wash my hands frequently while cooking and don't want them slipping off and going down the drain.
I also remove all my jewelry including earrings and necklace when I change into comfy clothes after work, and never wear any jewelry to bed including my wedding ring.

I only wear my simple wedding ring and don't wear bracelets. Messing with dough annoys me and touching meat with my hands skeeves me out, so I rarely do it, but if I did, I would remove my ring.

I only remove my rings if my hands are going to be in something- mixing/kneading dough, making meatballs, etc. My wedding set has too many groves and crevices, don't want to be digging stuff out of it.

I never was a "I never take my rings off" type of person. I've been married forever and the style of my wedding set are very old fashioned by todays styles. In fact my rings are considered vintage or antique I've been married so long. . The set has 10 diamonds, are prong set in such a way that the "girdle" of the diamond is vulnerable to damage, plus the stones are high enough set (particularly the center, larger stone in my engagement ring) and it's very easy to get all sorts of gunk and debris under the settings. As someone else posted, keeping the rings on and not transferring something to what I'm handling would be virtually impossible. Ick. I also take off my Apple watch. I just got it last month and I'm being super careful with it.

If I’m just around the house, I’m likely not wearing much jewelry. But if I do have on rings and bracelets, I usually remove them before cooking or baking.

I don't usually have anything on at home anyway but it would come off. I don't want to clean the jewelry or transfer the grimey stuff from my jewelry to the baking.

I remove them all when at home. I don't like soap buildup on my jewelry.

Yes. Yes I don't like food gunk in my jewelry and I don't want stuff from my jewelry contaminating my food.

If I’m at home, my rings are generally in my ring box. My DH is the same way.

I’ve never worn any jewelry at night, so generally put my rings on when I get dressed and ready to leave for the day. On days when I’m not going anywhere, like today, I haven’t put them on. And I never do when I’m going to be cleaning or doing yard work or something like that.
I only wear bracelets when I’m going out, and not even then if it’s just to run errands. I do pretty much always wear my Apple Watch when I’m dressed, even if just staying home.

Most of my jewelry was my mother's and I do not take it off unless I clean it. I have heard too many horror stories.
One time when my ear was hurting I took out my diamond earrings and put them under a lamp on my night stand. Somehow the pup got one and ate it. After that, I have been very, very careful about taking off my jewelry. Happy note: I did get the earring back. Took three days, but I am wearing it now.

Yes, I remove my rings before handling dough. Who wants to clean dough out of a ring? I never wear a watch or bracelets at home so that isn't an issue. Exactly this for me too.

I finally CAN take off my wedding ring. I have a lot of arthritis and bone spurs. My ring finger knuckle is getting too big to easily take off my ring. I took it into the jeweler and they sized it up enough to get it over my knuckle and added a swing bar that snaps down to the size I need when its over the knuckle and on. I like to take it off when I'm at home, doing yard work, or putting lotion on. It's a full carat so I'm thrilled to be able to easily take it off and keep it safe when needed.

I always take my ring off when I get home, along with whatever I was wearing. I switch to comfy clothes and a more stretchy bra.

I take all my jewelry off when I get home as I’m changing from out of the house clothes to in the house clothes.
So, no, if I’m cooking at home, I don’t have any jewelry on.

Always. It’s a health unit requirement here for me.
Rings are a bacteria magnet!

I can’t get my engagement or wedding rings off. I injured my finger playing sport and I got them back on after 6 months but thickening of the tendon etc has meant I can’t get them off again.
I wear gloves when doing anything like dough or meatballs and clean my rings regularly.

I don't wear any rings or bracelets, but if I did I would take them off when working with dough. Or better yet, wear disposable gloves like AllieC mentioned. What about when doing the dishes? The number of times my SIL has left her rings at my house, after taking them off to do the dishes.....

I remove my wedding rings, but I have two rings on my thumb that I may never be able to get off. I missed the window of opportunity before my joint swelled with arthritis

Y'all notice this thread was revived by a one-post-wonder trying to sell us something? It always amuses me when that happens. Yes, I noticed right away when I saw it pop up yesterday and reported that post! I thought the thread seemed familiar and looked at the dates. Then followed to the one that bumped it...
