, elaynef, are you organizing photos from your Christmas adventures? I look forward to seeing your photos and layouts. Still waiting for mail from Snapfish, but working on last summer. I just posted one on sketch thread. No snow here but grands in Lubbock have a little. Waiting on pics of their snowman. grammadee, you have really been scrapping. I'd love to sit at your table and watch your scrapping process. Your pages are all so individual and have so many innovations on them. Me, too. Your energy level is amazing. dgs in North Carolina was on the news yesterday being interviewed about his coffee business. I'll see if I can link it for you. qclife.wbtv.com/taproot-focuses-on-coffee/?fbclid=IwAR2dQo9LJyRg7xz0dH-_tnsavU90BZsnog5EAuuP_HTelT0X3YHhXr9QvY4

@elaynef, I remember when you posted about him fixing up his bus. That is such a wonderful interview. He did a fabulous job on his "store". I love the originality and his knowledge of his product. Thanks so much for sharing it. Is he the one getting married? I'll go find your layout on the sketch thread.

Not getting married. I have 10 grandsons and this one is #4. #1 is engaged. He is 31. Looks like none of them are in a hurry. I may be short on greats.

Happy Saturday! My dh and I are better but still a little sick. I just felt tired but dh was still coughing. So another day of total rest for both of us in separate rooms! We have a small place and don't want to keep getting each other sick. I miss my cuddles! Hopefully, we will be up and at 'em soon.
I blogged with lots of pictures about some of the beautiful Christmas décor I saw on our vacay. Here is the link. Kelly's Blog
@elaynef- Thanks for your prayers. Wishing you and your family a wonderful New Year!
nylene- Yes, after all the illness I had getting the Flu was not fun. I've been feeling so much better and ready to GO! But I am grateful it is just the Flu and will pass soon. You are such a blessing to your dh. Going all those places with him and for him is so sweet. You are so blessed to have each other. I feel the say way about my dh. He has been by my side through it all.
I read about your family's "Polar Plug." Oh how cold!!! LOL! But I am sure they had fun.
Waving hi to you all and will be back later. Have a good evening!

Happy Monday, Pokeys! Glad you and your dh are beginning to recover, kellyr21. Smart to continue to take it easy for a bit until that bug is GONE! I will check into your blog later. The decorations must have been beautiful to see. Glad you are scrapping, @elaynef. You have so many cool adventures. Glad you have last summers photos to scrap while you wait for your more recent ones to arrive. I am really NOT a dynamo of energy. I either scrap or do everything else. I prefer to scrap early in the day when physical and mental energy are highest. And I would love it if dh would go to town for coffee 2 or 3 days a week so I have a quiet house to play in. But since Christmas he has been spending most days here, and with this cold weather he has been in the house, so while I have been getting lots of pages done, the process has been interrupted often, and not quite as fun. Our temps are really low this week. Will be -40 by Friday. Other than doing scrapping and the bare minimum of household chores, I have been working with Kandie who does NOT want to come into the garage. I have to put her on a leash, coax her to the door, then boost her over the threshold until finally she will go to her crate. I have been trying to make it a game. She had not been on a leash for months, but I guess it brings her memories of all our walks in the fall, so even though it always ends up with her going through that door she hates, she always lets me put it on her. Then I humour her by taking her for a short run. Yes. Run. Me. But she LOVES that part of the process, so I bundle up and do it with her. Saturday I got to spend a bit of time with justjac. We had lunch and then later she and her hubby helped me set up my new camera. I took it with me to my niece’s dance performance. Took me a bit to figure out the operation—instruction manuals are for sissies—but I did manage to get a few good pic’s. And during the day I printed a bunch of photos I received since Christmas. Have used a couple of Hawaii pics already, but am now back to Canadian Christmas pages again. Not sure how many pages I will get done before I simply call it a wrap and start sorting and stowing my Christmas stash that has exploded all over half my house. LisaDV, your lovely Christmas card arrived today along with a couple more from US scrappy friends. Thank you! . It seems the US postal service couldn’t figure out the Canadian postal codes. Yours had CANADA written across the end of the address in big letters. (Their printed bar code had covered up your handwritten Canada at the bottom. Okay, off to walk/run the dog...

Happy almost Tuesday! lol Things at work have been crazy the past few days and it's just too early in the year for this! I hope it's a fluke lol I've tried to comment on all of the awesomeness that is being shared here and in the gallery. So many pretty Christmas layouts! I have one 2 page that has been done for a week and I need to get posted. I hope to have another to go with it soon. I hope everyone's sickness is going away and staying away! grammadee we have had ridiculous weather. It was 65 Thursday and sleeting and snowing Friday. nylene, I love that story about the pens Steve makes, and the pens themselves are beautiful! I get a lot of "I have technical questions, can you transfer me to tech support?" Um, that would be me - and the pause when they realize I'm not going to transfer them to a man lol. @elaynef I love those photos! And your DGS was so little on his first hike! I'm glad you're feeling more normal, and get back to 100% soon. kellyr21 I hope you are back to 100% soon too!

-42 here this morning. Are you working, justjac, or did they shut the school down for the weather? I took the dogs out for a few minutes this morning. Can't believe how happy they are to get out in this weather and run, but I guess it makes sense when they are cooped up for so many hours when they are usually ranging freely. Back in my scraproom, still gluing Christmas onto pages. If a huge pile of paper and glitter don't bury me, I will check in with you in a bit.

Hi. grammadee yes all the schools are closed today, so I’m having a crafty day. I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re closed again tomorrow. It’s supposed to be -49 C with the windchill (only -38 without it.) nylene LOAD is next month. It has a Harry Potter theme, so I’m excited for it. I’ve been seeing cloth gift bags. I bought a bunch of Christmas fabric before Christmas, but didn’t get it all used up, so I’m finishing them up. My sewing machine is a Singer I got at Walmart 10 years ago and it’s not running the best. If I’m going to keep sewing, I might invest in a new one. I’ve been working on my December Documented in 6x8. I will share some pages later today. Stay warm everyone!

kellyr21, glad you two are on the mend. Seems like it takes longer to get over and get back to full strength as we age. knutschen, hope you had fun at your crop and that you are healing up. nylene, out of all the couples we know, I'd say 85% the woman does most of the driving. For 10% they switch off. For 5% the man does most of the driving. It's funny that there is still a stereotype of the man always driving. Of course, DH does - due to motion sickness, otherwise we would switch off more. @elaynef, how awesome for your dgs! That bus is super cool! He could have been an interior designer. I love that he was homeschooled too. grammadee, you are such a good doggy momma!! I do not envy you going out in such cold weather. Hopefully Kandi can appreciate the garage more now with the cold. How crazy that your card arrive just yesterday!! Although my sil who lives 2 hours from us texted for my address on December 17th and I've yet to receive the card. MIL received hers so I know it went out. joyfulnana, I hope it's a fluke with work, as you need some downtime! Last Saturday, we went to a 50th birthday party in Chicagoland. As we're driving we see green shoots in the farm fields. It was around 50 and raining. By the time we came home, it was 30 and snowing. Definitely crazy weather, but grammadee and justjac can keep the -49 up there (please). Are you getting a lot done, justjac? I hope you share a photo of the gift bags you're making. I was suppose to be leaving this morning to go drop the dogs at my sisters. It's only a couple of hours more than the farm which is where the dog sitter lives. I haven't found one here yet. And, Of course, I'm too protective of even the dang dogs to let them go to a kennel. They need to be with people in the house, preferably with people who will let them sleep with them. My sister might not do that, but they know her and she does spoil them. Anyway, DH decided yesterday that instead of all of us going to DC to get my brother's things, it should just be the boys and it should be a quick trip. We were taking a couple of extra days and hoping to see some of DC. I love the Smithsonian and would have loved to take the kids. However, we have a trailer we're hauling out to get db's stuff and it appears there might be an issue with actually parking it. He has an extra guest pass, but there is no where to display said pass on the trailer. They usually go in the windshield. We'd all be staying at the apt so we'd probably have to move the trailer back from wherever we find to park it each day which would mean we wouldn't get to really spend much time in DC. Although I'm a bit bummed as I was looking forward to it, I'm also relieved as it meant a lot of extra work for me before and after. I'm still going to my sister's at the end of the month though. As I had the expectation of seeing baby (4 now, so not a baby) grand nephew.

LisaDV, I am sorry your trip to DC got cancelled. I hope you can all go another time. I'd be worried about parking a trailer. We have had trailers full of everything people own stolen from right behind motels around here. Leaving it all day for sightseeing would worry me. I was surprised about all the women doing the driving. My mom only drove my dad ONCE and that was to bring him home from the hospital after surgery. If dad was in the car, he was driving. I think it's a generational thing. I never, ever drove when DH was in the car. It's just the way we grew up, but I let my girls know they need to drive. I saw a sign that perfectly explains my experience the first year of driving DH. "Driving with my husband is like hunting with the game warden!" justjac, I would hate those cold temperatures. I think I would just freeze to death. I hope your sewing machine holds out. They don't make them like they used to.I would love to see photos of your bags. My DD lived in Japan where they wrap everything so beautifully and she said she was making some gift bags too. It's such a great way to give a gift. kellyr21, I am glad you are recovering. Take it easy and rest when you can. You don't want to be almost well and catch it over again. When one or both of us is sick, I am very vigilant about cleaning doorknobs and handles often. I don't know how much it helps, but it makes me feel better. I just enjoyed the photos on your blog. What a beautiful Christmas display. I'm glad you were able to go enjoy it. Thanks for sharing. grammadee, I hope your dogs know what a great "mom" they have to brave the cold to let them run. I don't know how you do it. I hope Kandi gets used to the garage. I hope you get more "alone" time to get those layouts done. I accomplish a lot more when DH is in his shop. We spent all morning yesterday doing woodwork errands and having the "clunk" in the car diagnosed. It seems to be just something loose and not serious. Will have it fixed when we go in for the next tuneup. joyfulnana, I chuckled at the expectation of a man in the tech dept. We women are more capable than we are given credit. I hope things settle down a bit at work so you can do things you enjoy. Stress makes me want to scrap and that's hard when there is no time. How's little Rudy doing? @elaynef, that young man will be a great catch. He knows where he's going! And he's a cutie. I have card club tonight and I made my cards early over the holidays. I put them in a plastic bag and put them where I always store them. Then I knocked all the dies off the table, messing up everything and they are nowhere to be found. I am going to go thru my Christmas stuff in case they got picked up with that. I hope they turn up soon so I can do other things this morning.

kellyr21 I hope you and your husband are feeling better! grammadee Stay warm! I couldn't imagine those negative temps. We did have a little bit of snow and ice last Saturday. I was trying to blow bubbles outside for them to freeze. It was about 30 degrees and it didn't work. I found out it has to be in the single digits for this to work. LisaDV My crop starts this Friday and I leave Thursday. I am glad I decided to leave a day early because they are talking freezing rain on Friday morning. I have been working on packing the last couple of days. I am looking forward to this weekend. My hands are still sore but much improved for a couple of weeks ago. I am 4 weeks post-op as of today. I am wondering how my 3 1/2 hour drive is going to go. DH is busy tonight and won't be home till 9-10pm. I am hoping to make me some dinner and get busy with packing before he makes it back home.

knutschen - we are going to have ice and freezing rain here Friday morning too. Have FUN at your crop! LisaDV I'm sorry your trip got cancelled, but I'm glad you are getting out of some extra work. You work too much! So bummed I can't crop with you guys Saturday! My niece has the worst timing. She usually has maybe one Saturday a month she can scrapbook and it always falls on a day when I could crop elsewhere lol. But I love her and love scrapping with her lol. Awww I hope you found your cards nylene. I hate it when things like that happen. Best laid plans, that always go awry for me lol I totally agree that women are smarter and more capable than we are ever given credit for! My niece and I got into SG's We Create crop for September and I'm over the moon excited about that! She did all the heavy lifting (and shaking once we were in LOL). This is the first year I've tried to go. Got my deposit put down on that and then got the news that one of the people in my department gave his notice. Which is fine, except that we have a hard time getting someone hired that will stay more than 30 days. It's really a tough job and mentally draining so we have a hard time keeping people. I already told my boss I had put the money down and days on the calendar for We Create and I AM going! We are having pizza/movie and making Forky's Friday night lol. Rudy had a dream the last time he slept over that he made his own Forky from Toy Story 4. Well, being the crafty Nana I am, I had to make that dream come true lol. We watch the "Forky Asks a Question" shorts on Disney+ lol. We have more icy weather coming tomorrow night and I'm over it. It's messing up my weekends! And we have the Chiefs game Sunday. I can't wait for that! For all my complaining about the traffic, it's pretty awesome living close enough to hear all the fireworks and the roar of the crowd without paying the big bucks to sit in the cold lol. I hope everyone is getting better and if you are not sick, staying healthy!

"Driving with my husband is like hunting with the game warden!" I think DH used to feel that way about me. I'm the better everyday driver. However, he is the better driver when you need it - snow, ice, any kind of inclement weather, city driving with a trailer, etc. Did you find your cards??? I was creating the finishing touches on some cards the other day and I've totally lost/misplaced my dies. I thought I moved those myself before the movers, so it can't be in a box hidden away where it shouldn't be. But I have no idea where it is! I'll be doing a search for it tomorrow. knutschen, I hope the drive doesn't aggravate your hands, and they continue to heal. Drive safe with this storm coming through. And have fun at your crop. You deserve it. joyfulnana, if we can figure this out, I see lots of people doing hosting whenever they can and just having a get-together whenever. The people who expect men, are they generally older? Wondering if it is also a generational thing. Your Forky Friday sounds like a blast. You are such a great Nana! I've already been out to the town 30 minutes away to pick up a Sam's Club order. They were already spraying the streets down in anticipation of the storm. DS is going with this weekend, grammadee. I know you asked earlier elsewhere but I answered before I even got out of bed - so still half asleep. ha. I still have to pack up some food for them. Of course, the storm has to come through this weekend. I'll be a nervous wreck all weekend. I feel so bad it falls to my DH. I just can't drive in the bigger cities anymore, especially with a trailer. I have a mammogram (yuck) at 10. I'm hoping I have enough time to hit the meat market and Meijer's inbetween that appointment and DS's DMV appointment at 3. I'm getting him an enhanced state ID for traveling. Gotta go wake the boy and go to my appointment.

Happy Birthday, justjac!!! Hope you found your cards, nylene, and that your card group was fun. How many people attend? How many cards do you each create? Do you lead all the time? If you are leading the group, do you bring all the supplies? Pre cut the pieces? Or does everyone bring their own tools and supplies and then follow your instructions? Where do you hold card club? At your home? Or rotated among members? Or a public place? Forky Friday sounds like a BLAST, joyfulnana. What a cool Nana you are! Maybe Rudy will want to create some friends for Forky: Knifey? Spoony? What fun! At least you have that to think about as you slog through a busy work week. And great that you are getting to scrap with your family on the weekend, even if it is cybercropping. Great that you got into the SG event. Have seen some posts from Peas who really enjoyed it. Our next IRL crop is National Scrapbooking Day in May. The only part I don't like is all the lugging stuff out to the vehicle, in and out of the venue (which to be honest, justjac's hubby is a huge help with, but I feel guilty asking him to do ALL the heavy lifting). In a SG event, they supply the papers, right? So you would only need to bring a few tools and some photos. Bonus! How are you feeling, kellyr21? Have the flue germs left you? Hoping all is back to normal and you are getting to play again. And kitbop, how are YOU feeling? You have had such a busy January already. Hoping you get some time to play. Your calendars are beautiful and your scrappy style really comes through, but it always FEELS better if you are doing something because you WANT to and are having fun, as opposed to because you HAVE to! knutschen, I hope you get to your weekend crop safely. And I hope you either are not taking a lot of heavy stuff or that you have help to load and unload at both ends. It would NOT be fun to reinjure your wrists now that they are healing! How far do you have to drive? The temps here have eased a bit. This morning it is "only -30C (about -20F) but it is snowing and the wind is picking up so there is a windchill of around -40. Oh the joys of a Canadian winter! My grandfather used to say, "This is the kind of day you are glad the house is hollow!" We are thankful that we have reliable electricity, heating & water systems, and homes. And lots of food stored up. My kids say if there is a natural disaster they are all coming here and they think it will take awhile to eat all the frozen and preserved food. And as far as ice & snow, we have reliable vehicles, good tires, and our road crews are set up for this weather, too, so at least the major arteries get cleared quickly. But I will be happy when I don't have to go out in -30 of colder temps to spend time with the dogs. And I think they will be much happier than they can just hang out in the yard instead of being cooped up in the garage. Speaking of "HAVING to", I did a bit of sorting Christmas supplies in here yesterday, and I have made a goal to have the tree and all the Christmas décor down into the basement by Monday evening. It will take some time to restow it down there, but at least it won't be in my face reminding me that I "have one more job to do". LisaDV, I hope your mamogram goes well and that you can relax when you hear that "the boys" have arrived at their destination. And what fun to be hosting a Pea crop on line! I hope to join in for some of the morning on Saturday if I can figure out how to sign on and can have at least some small area of counter top cleared by then to actually DO something. Will have to get dd to help me figure out the best position for my ipad so croppers will get more than a view of my ceiling light LOL. I have a couple of birthday LO's to do and I am looking forward to a break from Christmas. What other things are you and dd planning to do while the boys are gone? Driving with your husband is like hunting with the game warden... Funny! And true! Dh prefers to drive when we are going together even if sometimes it would make more sense to take my suv than his truck. He does "let" me drive if we are going to "the city" though b/c city driving causes him way too much stress. (Also causes ME some stress if he is my passenger, but I try to just ignore his fears, be Dory, and "just keep driving")

Happy, Happy Birthday to our justjac! I hope it is a great day for you. This will be a short note. Someone sent their germs this way and I caught them. I am just dragging and my head feels like it's twice the normal size. I'm afraid I am just on the first day of this. I did find my cards mixed among my Christmas papers. My stack of papers to put away is staggering. I scrap in a mess. grammadee, our card club is 8 women and we hold it at a friend's home who has a large art room where she teaches art lessons to children. It's once a month and we each make 8 cards and then exchange. One person is assigned to teach a new idea or technique or just a fun card. We rotate that. If you are teaching, you bring the papers and ribbon or whatever (usually cut and ready to go), but send an email listing things to bring, like:scissors, score board, liquid adhesive, etc. We share tools if someone doesn't have something. We start at 8 and usually finish by 9:30 and sit around and visit til 10 pm. My friend started this in Sept of 2008 and we still have 4 of the original members. In the summer we have one all-day scrap together at her home, and in Dec. we go somewhere close and have lunch together. kellyr21, glad you guys are getting better! joyfulnana, I love the Forky Friday. I love the Toy Story movies..and all Pixar movies. I hope you have a wonderful time with Rudy. LisaDV, I hope the incoming storm doesn't deter the trip and that everyone travels safely. I hope you find your dies. knutschen, I'm glad you are leaving a day early. The freezing rain doesn't sound fun at all. I hope you can get a lot accomplished at your crop and that you don't have problems with your healing hands. I think I'm going to go take a short nap. That's something I never do, so I must be getting sick.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I woke up and got ready for work and then checked my phone and found out that we’re closed again due to extreme cold. So I’m wearing a pretty dress around the house today. We’re going out to dinner tomorrow with Dean’s family, so today is a regular dinner at home. Here are two pics of my bags. They are very simple based on a YouTube video I watched.

nylene, out of all the couples we know, I'd say 85% the woman does most of the driving. For 10% they switch off. For 5% the man does most of the driving. It's funny that there is still a stereotype of the man always driving. Of course, DH does - due to motion sickness, otherwise we would switch off more. Interesting. DH and I used to share the driving 50/50, but now he does most of it. He was the stay-at-home-parent, and so chauffeured us all around (including driving me to work so I didn't have to pay for parking) and he got so used to it he *hates* being a passenger now! So hey, I let him drive. He's the same with a shopping cart - after pushing it around for years, he can't bear to be in a store without pushing it...we often shop together now that the kids are older, and he always has the cart. So I’m wearing a pretty dress around the house today. Happy Birthday to you! Glad you got a "snow day" for your birthday... but I have to say... putting on a dress is something I (rarely) HAVE to do (and I reason I avoid certain events...). If I'm at home with a day off, it's joggers and a t-shirt for me! This will be a short note. Someone sent their germs this way and I caught them. I am just dragging and my head feels like it's twice the normal size. I'm afraid I am just on the first day of this. I'm so sorry you've caught a bug. I got over mine (thanks for asking grammadee!), but then DD got sick, and now DH is on day 4 of a virus that sounds like yours. He was *so* draggy and slept a lot for 2 days, then the cough started. Hope yours lifts quickly! Of course, the storm has to come through this weekend. We're expecting this storm too, and we have a low-key ( grammadee "hollow house" LOL. I think I'll start calling bad-weather days "hollow house" days!) weekend planned because of it. I might actually enjoy just relaxing! The following weekend DH is flying to BC to see his Dad, so I'm hoping for good weather for driving/flying. Fingers crossed for your folk...that's quite a long haul to DC. I've never been, and it's on my bucket list for the next 5 years - that, Boston, and New York! It's really such an easy drive. I'm supposed to be working on my sketch for Saturday. I have the sketch, the photo, and some plans...but it's been at least 6 weeks since I did a layout so my creative process is stunted to say the least!

Oh, justjac, I so meant to post Happy Birthday to you here after shouting out to you on the birthday thread yesterday. But spaced it in just that short amount of time. Happy Belated Birthday, justjac!! I hope you felt special in your pretty dress. I like to do things like that as well, although like kitbop it probably wouldn't be in a dress these days. You're gift bags are darling. Perfect for some odd shaped things as well. grammadee, I will be happy when they are already back home. I couldn't sleep last night, only like 4 hours total between all the waking and worrying. I think I'll be taking some Formula 303 this evening. It's an all natural stress reliever and sleep aid DH found out about from his chiropractor. If DD feels up for it, we plan to make our first ever macarons. She's been wanting to do this for months, so I'm hoping having that to look forward too will help her push herself a bit as she's still fighting the cold. Lots of snuggling too I'm sure. Although yesterday I cleaned the large counter height make-shift workspace in the craft room so she might decide to messy that up as well. I also set up a webcam and microphone and did an initial test run. DS could hear me, but I couldn't hear or see him or myself. I figured out my camera and think the "hear" was that I had my volume down. I don't think he put is camera on. So we'll retest this morning. I have my webcam on a mini-tripod that is bendy so I can wrap it on a bar above my workstation, but can move it if I decide to do digital. nylene, I'm glad you found your cards, but sorry to hear that you fell ill. Those stupid germs. Rest, hydrate, and stay warm. Oh, I did find my dies finally. I had taken them out of the original storage box and put them in another one. Silly me. Then since the bin was next to my 2 stamp bins, I threw stamps on top of them. --My stamps are not organized, so I guess this is just one more clue to get on it. Of course, it's been 2 years since I first thought about organizing stamps and it's still not even finished. kitbop, I used to dislike that DH had to drive, but now I enjoy it. DD, who I'm signing up for her first driving class this summer, says my goal is to have them all drive so I can be chauffeured always. Yep, pretty much. I hope you enjoy your hollow house days. This kind of weather is definitely made for hunkering down and just being inside. I'm off to go putz since it's still dark out here. I can't wait for summer sun times.

Happy Birthday to ABCreations!! ABCreations, I was just looking at my turtles in my sig yesterday and after thinking of Cindy, I immediately swelled with gratitude to you for giving them back to me. Thanks. Then was thinking, I have seen you here for a while, I wonder how you are. I hope you have a wonderful birthday.

Good Morning! Man I hope everyone is staying warm! Spring can't get here fast enough. Happy Belated Birthday justjac! How awesome to get a snow day as a gift! Those bags are so pretty! LisaDV how is DH trip to DC going? I would be worried the entire time as well. I read the crop thread and it sounds like it was a blast and I hope I can join in on one soon. I'm going to try to get pop in for a bit Tuesday when I get off work. Yes, the customers that expect a man are on the older side. Our customer base is very much on the older side, but getting a little younger every year. Good luck with your mammo! I got my notice in the mail this week that I need to schedule mine - yuck. I didn't used to mind them so much, but having a pacemaker makes the left side more painful as they try to squeeze down and it pulls on that darn pacemaker. Oh well, it's one day of the year lol Forky night was a success! They slept over and it felt like old times, just hanging out together. It's been a good weekend. Although there really isn't such a thing as a bad weekend in my mind lol. grammadee I'm so excited for We Create! They only supply kits for the classes that will be available so I will be bringing the big rolling bag with enough to keep me busy for 3 days. We figured out it's 40 hours of crop time (if you use it to potential). I've got to speed up my game lol. I may have to play along with LOAD next month for practice lol. nylene I hope you are on the upswing and feeling better! The flu is so scary these days. Is it just me, or does it seem to get more dangerous every year? kellyr21 how are you feeling? OMG yes to "hollow house" and "hunting with the game warden" I LOL'd because they are both so true! lol All my housework is done, I'm going to find a sketch for next week's sketchy Saturday and hopefully start AND finish it today and watch the Chiefs hopefully get into the SuperBowl this year! I'm so excited for that game. Last week's game was one for the history books! I hope everyone is having an awesome weekend!! Here’s a pic of Rudy’s and my Forkys. Don’t mind Spider-Man there, he was a bday gift from the little one 😂

Happy Birthday to ABCreations !! ABCreations , I was just looking at my turtles in my sig yesterday and after thinking of Cindy, I immediately swelled with gratitude to you for giving them back to me. Thanks. Then was thinking, I have seen you here for a while, I wonder how you are. I hope you have a wonderful birthday. ABCreations, I think of your kindness often. That little dancing turtle always makes me smile! Hope you are doing well. Would love to hear from you, too. What a blast meeting up with so many of the Pokeys on line yesterday! So cool to see so many of your faces! Joining in was a lot easier than I thought. And if I leave my ipad in just one place, I don't even have to clean up much of the background mess LOL! nylene I hope you are feeling better. Please look after yourself. Take as many naps as you need! LisaDV I hope your "boys" get home safely with all the stuff transferred. Where will it be stored? Hope it is not too much of an upheaval for your family as things get readjusted again. kellyr21 what are you up to this weekend? You will laugh when I tell you that it "warmed up" yesterday to -22C (about -5F). The dogs played outside all day and were delighted not to be cooped up in the garage like they had been most of the time all week. Love your Forky pic, joyfulnana ! Glad you had a fun weekend. Wondering how patin , marybeth , woodysbetty , and other Pokeys are doing. Hoping your year is going well so far. Well I need to get up from this desk and do something. Working on justjac 's card. (No use actually DOING something until you absolutely have to have it ready !) I pulled out some photos last night, so hoping I can put a couple of pages together. Dh will be glued to the TV watching sports all day, so that is my excuse not to get started on getting that Christmas paraphernalia out of there, so I am taking the day to PLAY. TTYL Pokeys!

I was very thankful for the online informal crop yesterday. It kept me focused - normally, I'm up and down and taking "breaks" too often - this kept me on task and I completed both my sketch layout and my Mom's calendar! Photographed it this morning. Some pics are the same as my MILs calendar, some are different (my Mom gets pissy if I include photos of my nephew/niece because they aren't her side of the family. She makes comments like "well, I don't know THEM" etc. So I only send my mom photos of our immediate family). Here are a few of my favourite "months" calendar 2 november by kirstendrew, on Flickr calendar 2 october by kirstendrew, on Flickr calendar 2 september by kirstendrew, on Flickr calendar 2 march by kirstendrew, on Flickr

Still in neck brace but starting to wean of the painkillers and move a bit better. Follow up appointment is tomorrow....I hope to back at it soon.. Just wanted say I’ve missed you all and hope you are well!😊

So good to hear from you woodysbetty. Welcome back to the pod. Not so good to hear about your spine surgery. I hope you truly are starting to feel better and will be able to join us more often. I notice all your Tinypic notices. When they shut down, our little turtles were lost to us but ABCreations was able to find the images and restore them to us from a different server. I can send you the image addresses from my profile if you like. Hopefully you will be able to copy and paste the new addresses into your signature line in your profile and you will have them again, too. kitbop I love your calendar pages. They have such fun photos and dynamic colours. justjac, I meant to tell you how much I like your gift bags. What a great project. I'll bet your bags will be around for a long time, used year to year.

woodysbetty, it's very good to see you! Not so good to hear of your fall. I was hoping you were just enjoying the FL weather and your new location. I hope that you will heal completely and quickly. joyfulnana, your forkys are fabulous!!! I bet Rudy had a blast. Our customer base is very much on the older side, but getting a little younger every year. this made me giggle. It's so true as we get older though. It was great to see, grammadee, kitbop and msliz at the crop. It was fun to see pages and cards as they're being finished. I did find I was way more quiet than I would normally be while crafting. Usually I'm very vocal about what I'm doing or my mishaps. It was also fabulous to work with paper again. I even pulled out supplies for Valentines Day cards yesterday afternoon. kitbop, those calendar pages are so lovely. The boys are home and safe!! They arrived last night around 7pm. So to DC and back loading a trailer in just over 48 hours. They stayed ahead of the storm by leaving Friday evening. They did have to load the trailer in rain, which at one point was freezing and forming icicles on the bushes as it came down. On the way home, it seemed that the weather still cooperated with them even with going through periods of rain or snow, the roads were still fine. That is until they were about 10 minutes from their exit to go north to home (about 30-40 minutes away in good weather). The roads changed: a car passed on the icy bridge which pulled the trailer and the truck and trailer had a scare. Luckily they were soon off the highway. DH put the truck in 4-wheel drive and they took it slower from there. DH who I'd been having take the preemptive cold fighting medicines before he left, I think has unfortunately gotten the cold into his chest. They'll all be taking it easy today. DS will start the preemptive cold fighting regimen as he was soaked during the loading of the trailer and "was a machine" according to DH. I'm very glad they're home. grammadee, turns out my brother is a serious book hoarder. His room definitely won't hold them all. I'll give him a bay of the detached garage once I get through the boxes out there. He can store them there and then rotate them as needed.

woodysbetty - How scary! That must have been an awful fall and I'm glad you are recovering but you sound like you are downplaying it. How many days were you in hospital? Yikes!

Happy Monday! I hope you all are well today. My dh and I are better from the flu. He is still coughing and last night I felt like I was trying to get sick again. I took some meds and woke up feeling fine. We have been back to our routines and trying to get back on track.
I have got some cards to make and still gotta get all my supplies together. I am rearranging my main room with all my stuff and then I can relax and create.
I have so much to catch up on here. So I will go back and read what I have missed!

Hi, Pokeys. I am still a bit under the weather, but have not become any worse. I find that I try to do something simple and am exhausted afterward. I do think I am a little better and DH has not caught it. That's a good thing. woodysbetty , I am so sorry about your fall. I hope you are healing well and will be back to doing your regular activities soon. I'm sure this put a crimp in your yoga. Stop by whenever you can. kellyr21 , I am happy that you and Ron are both doing better. Are you working on Valentine cards? I have several birthdays in our family in the next few weeks so I'm trying to get new ideas. kitbop , I love your calendar pages. The photo of your daughter dancing is fabulous. Love the family photos too. LisaDV , I'm glad the boys are home safe and sound. The roads were really bad around here too. I was glad I didn't have to do much driving around in it. You are very kind to share your garage space with your book-loving brother. ABCreations, I too, think of you and Cindy each time I see our turtles, especially the jumping one. You are so kind. I hope things are well with you and that you will be able to do some scrappy projects this year. joyfulnana , I started giggling as I saw your Forkys. Your weekend sounds totally amazing. Relaxing, fun and enjoyable. Good luck on the mammo. I had never thought that a pacemaker would make it more uncomfortable. I hope it goes well without extra pain. justjac , I have enjoyed your December Documented. That's something I have never done. I wonder if we do enough things during the month to document. Do you do each day or just important things? knutschen , how was the crop last weekend. Did your hands survive the drive and the scrapping? grammadee , you are really cranking out the pages this month. I would be hiding in my house if I lived in temps like yours. You are a brave woman to take the dogs out! I have tried to do a little scrapping, but seem to need a nap each day during the time I might scrap. Maybe next week. Sorry I missed the virtual crop with you and LisaDV , kitbop , and msliz . It sounds like it was fun. There have been a lot of layouts posted. Waving to @elaynef , patin , marybeth , justlisa7 , and hoping I'm not missing anyone. I'm heading to bed early tonight. Have a great week, everyone. I plan to be back to normal by the end of the week!! (wishful thinking?)

nylene twice I have done a December Daily where I did a page for every day. This year I'm doing December Documented. I got the idea from the Kelly Purkey kit I bought. Instead of focusing on things I did every day, it had cards to tell about wrapping or music, or movies rather than something I actually did that day. I'm debating buying the digital kit, so I can reprint the cards in a few years and do it again. woodysbetty welcome back. I wish you a speedy recovery. LisaDV kitbop grammadee it was nice to see you at the online crop. I am going to drop in for maybe an hour tonight.

I agree, nylene. There are a lot of days in any month, even December that there is really nothing photo worthy for us. And other days everything happens at once. A December Daily would not really represent our month, either. The ScrapHappy prompts were for themes like Santa, music, food, décor, much like the Kelly Purkey kit seems to be. justjac I love what you did with the calendar, putting in little photos but adding interest by grouping some together and interspersing them with blank squares or written notes or seasonal phrases/words. Hope you don't mind if I link it here. I may just do this another year with a big 12x12 calendar page. Hope you don't mind if I link yours here: Overview by Jacqueline Bruce, on Flickr
