Happy New Year Diva's! I'm looking at you stacey562 ComplicatedLady AussieMeg @sunnycalimom joblackford nylene cristelina MDscrapaholic DawnMcD justjac grammadee. But if other peas want to jump in and chat, please join in, the more the merrier. I *love* that through the year of these challenge groups I have learned more "who" the peas are: general styles, preferred format (hi cardmakers! hi digi peas! hi 2-page rockstars!), where people live and a bit about their lives. I feel really thankful to have the community to hang out with. Here's to a balanced and graceful 2020 - and decade ahead - for us all! Since it's time for resolutions, a fresh start, share your crafty goals for this month! It might help keep us on track I'm trying to be realistic: 1. finish my Mom's 8x8 calendar - super simple pages - by this weekend 2. finish my DD...2016! I am 2/3 thru and had a goal of finishing in November. Oops. 3. complete 4 scrapbook layouts (this one is what will slide if I'm not doing well with my other goals) 4. get up to date with photo editing and printing. We "lost" both our laptops last year and finally replaced one in December, meaning I have my Photoshop back!!!! Very pleased, but also facing a very large task of a whole year of photos to collect, sort and edit! I'm looking forward to a great month with you

Happy New Year, DIVA's! Looking forward to playing with you this month.
I am hoping to finish scrapping December '19. That includes: 1) photos from my week in Calgary earlier in the month, including a bunch of hockey photos 2) Christmas photos here at the farm with dd & family, 3) photos my ds is sending me from their Hawaii trip, 4) other pic's my kids have sent me.
When that is done, I can stuff all my Christmas scrappy supplies back into their part of the cabinets in my scraproom.

Hi Divas, happy new year to you all!
My goals for this month:
I want to finish my December Daily pages - 6 down, 25 to go! I am using templates, so it should be fairly quick and easy. I wish now that I'd left the original embellishments that came with the templates, instead of changing them. If I'd left them, all I'd have to do is stick a photo or two on each page, I could have finished the whole lot in one day!
I also want to do some more pages from my Vietnam album.
I need to get cracking on my Project Life 2019. I am way behind where I thought I'd be. And then I need to decide on a format for my 2020 PL. I'm thinking of going really basic, just so I can get it done quicker and maybe keep up. But I like the format that I've been using, so I'm not sure yet.

My scrappy goals so far are: 1. Organize my Pinterest boards so they are easier to search like refugeepea's are. She's giving me pointers. 2. Try one more time to do pocket pages. 3. Get my Scraproom arranged so it's easier to get to things. 4. Just keep scrapping.

Happy New Year! Goals and plans: - inventory for my business (ugh) - which necessitates tidying up and organizing so I can find all of the supplies I have in inventory - deciding what kind of December album to do (I have an idea) and doing it - making a year in review photo book for the family - finishing my highlights digital photo book for myself - making cards, always - learning how to use Procreate for digital art.
Just a few things... lol. I’ll start soon. The family only just left yesterday and I still have some interruptions to get through before I can dig into all the things.

1. finish my DD weekly pages. 2. Do at least 2 layouts from my Vacation/cruise last year 3. make 5 cards 4. Actually count and report my points for the january game!

I counted my business’s materials inventory! Yay! Every die cut and sheet of paper and enamel dot accounted for! (ugh)
Don’t start a craft manufacturing business unless you’re organized and great with details. I found some room for improvement in my systems, and I’m going to try to make all things so I have a lot less to count next year!
I still want to reorganize my finished card inventory boxes and put a bunch of the older cards on clearance. That’s going to be a bit of a job. And I still have to finish off my bookkeeping and file taxes for the end of the quarter and year. I should try to get that done today so I don’t have to keep thinking about it, but I’d much rather do some crafting!

4. Actually count and report my points for the january game! This would be good I need to clarify with grammadee whether we are doing the generic option for points tallying again this month (eg. 20 points/layout etc). joblackford - I cannot imagine. Is this inventory for your own peace of mind, or the taxman? One of the things keeping me away from scrapping is that DH and I have been watching "Mad Men" - we were hooked from the first show, and it's hard to watch one epidsode with him without sliding into another and another. I don't watch a lot of TV while I'm scrapping - I find I am too easily distracted and don't accomplish anything if I have a good TV show on.

Is this inventory for your own peace of mind, or the taxman? For the taxman! So it actually needs to be true and correct! every single piece of cardstock and paper... I just got the city business taxes filed ($0, easy), state Q4 business taxes filed and paid, my business's federal schedule C guidance printed for hubby to do our real taxes, and the (personal) spending numbers updated and credit card paid. DONE! If I have any energy left I can play now

I guess I should have done something about the scoring when MDscrapaholic first brought it up early in the month. But I thought that since I had set up the rules the "traditional" way that I had best leave them that way for this month. Thinking from February on I will just automatically add in the EASY Peasy scoring option. Hoping point counting doesn't take too much of the joy out of playing along. Not sure who suggested it, but some people use a highlighter on the list to identify all the items they use on every project, so then those points can be added kind of automatically. And maybe highlight the item or theme or whatever that you really plan to work on--like Christmas--so you can score yourself every time you work on that theme. Please don't stress about it. No one is looking over your shoulder examining how you are scoring yourself. If you do a couple of LO's and their scores are pretty close, just assume any other pages/cards/etc will be the same and just add in that number. And don't put the scoring off too long! I have completed 11 pages this month and not scored one. Time to get that done. Once I have used the score sheet a couple of times the scoring gets a lot easier for me. But it really is best to start with your first ones and then score each additional project right after you share it.

I am guessing you have seen that I ended up changing the points calculation to include the EASY PEASY option. Sorry for the delay.
Feeling a bit sluggish today, and dh is busy looking for things which seems to include me at random intervals, so after the second interruption I gave up scrapping for the day with a pile of photos and possible page elements on my scrap counter. Tomorrow he has a couple of appointments in town and Halleluya, his favourite coffee spot is open after the holiday break, so I should have the house to myself for at least the morning. So hoping for at least a couple of two pagers completed then.
The photos on my counter are for today's ScrapHappy prompt about holiday beverages. The next set I want to do is Christmas Eve after I found (while looking for hot chocolate mug images) the perfect scrap of pp to go with that theme. Gotta use it before it disappears down some rabbit hole in here...

I'm still working on my mom's calendar...6 months done, when I planned to have it mailed by now. Life just won't settle down. I had my dad in ER twice this week (first time he went himself, Via ambulance, completely unnecessary. Second I took him, and he spent the night, definitely necessary!). Last evening, I got home from 6 hrs in ER with him, to spend 2 hrs helping dd study for a grade 11 math test. My brain hurts! Felt very much that "sandwich generation" thing going on. Today my BIL, nephew and niece arrived for a weekend visit. I am literally eating crackers in my bed. Kitchen: one game. Living room: another game. Scrap space: 2 16 year old girls arting. So I took my iPad and snack to my only remaining comfy spot!

kitbop , it sounds like you need to hide out for a while. I hope your dad is doing better. It is very hard to be in that "sandwich" generation. For several years I drove 5 hours one way to Idaho each week to help with my parents. I'd come back to children needing help with Science projects, etc., and one of my sisters would make the trip. With 4 of us sisters we were able to be with them about every other day. It was very wearing. Now I worry that my kids are going to be stuck in the same position with us as we age. Even right now they take good care of us. Hang in there and know that you are doing the right thing and will be appreciated. I am working on some cards today and a special one for my DSIL who keeps my computer running so well. I have a layout spread out but not really put together yet. I have to walk by and look at them for a while as I decide what needs to be moved or added. Off to get something accomplished.

Oh wow, kitbop it sounds like you need some quiet time. I hope all is well with your dad. I’ve been a terrible team member so far, in terms of interacting on the boards at least. I’ve been trying to limit my screen time, which has been fairly successful. And I’ve been working on my big project all day every day this week. I’m making a blurb photo book for my family, which is what I do every new year as a belated Xmas gift. Usually I just pull all the photos into the book software on NYE and create a pretty quick design. This year I have been working on what I call my Highlights book all year, which is a 5x8 blurb trade book, which I have done up to about Thanksgiving. I realized over the holidays that my photo book would overlap heavily with the trade book, so I decided to edit the files I’d already created and change the size and layout to work in the 7x7” photo book. At first I wanted to cry at re-doing all that work, but it’s actually been pretty quick, and the pages are coming together well. They’re much fancier than what I usually make because they include some digital elements. Some pages have been easy just to drag over, and others I’ve been able to add in extra pictures that wouldn’t fit into the smaller format. I’m at the point now we’re I’m designing pages from scratch for Thanksgiving and all our December events. Anyway, I’ve made about 35, each 14” wide 7” high (double page spreads) but they’re mostly pages that I’ve already shared. I’ll try to share the last spreads that I haven’t shared any version of yet. I’m really looking forward to getting this thing finished, maybe tomorrow while hubby is out, so I can get back to making cards! Don’t even talk to me about whether I’ll finish the trade Highlights book or when/how I’m going to do a Christmas journal/album.

I have a good start on it, but I want to get it done. In my defense, I did have to order some page protectors yesterday to finish it. Finish a vacation travel notebook from October. I’m almost finished but took a break to start on the DD and to make the recipe a swap cards. Finish another travel notebook that I want to use to track work certification and required classes. There are so many that I end up doing them at the last minute after I get an email that they are due soon. The January Cocoa Daisy TN Kit was perfect for this. Maybe make some cards with some of the new supplies I’ve already purchased during my January chill. I didn’t even make it a week before buying stuff. Are there points for purchasing stuff this month?

joblackford - are you albums family gifts kept at home, or do you give them away? The calendars I make are sent across the country - and once they're gone, I feel like I haven't been productive at all! Of course, they are a lot of scrap-work, so it's silly to feel that way. No one should feel like they aren't a "good team member". There's no such thing. We're just a group of scrappers hanging out in between life moments! ComplicatedLady - um, that's an impressive goal list, and I wish you luck with it!

No one should feel like they aren't a "good team member". There's no such thing. We're just a group of scrappers hanging out in between life moments! ComplicatedLady - um, that's an impressive goal list, and I wish you luck with it! I almost always order a copy of the blurb books I make for myself to keep. I have a huge stack - about 10" tall (all softcovers)! a decade of year in reviews, a decade of my nephew, almost as many of my friend's kid, and some trip albums. It's one of the reasons I like the photo books - being able to order extra copies any time, doing the work once and having it backed up so if something happens to someone's books we can order a new copy. I don't keep a copy of the photo calendars I make though so I know what you mean about not feeling productive. Actually a lot of digital scrapping feels that way to me. I have a few finishing steps to complete today - page through and make a list things that don't look quite right - proofread (typing text straight into Photoshop is a recipe for errors) - edit, re-save & re-upload those pages - add photos to the first and last pages and make a cover - upload the finished book and order! I got a lot done yesterday but I decided that fresh eyes would be helpful at the end. It's a 90 page book. It's going to cost a fortune! I don't think there's anything I can edit out. Hope they still have a good discount deal available, but I'm probably too late. (30% off + $7 off shipping, eh. I prefer my usual 35% or 40% off!) Then I need to get on my Tuesday card challenge project! real paper crafting!

Hope your dad is doing better, kitbop and you got your space back! You need to look after yourself so you don’t get sick again. I hope to get some pages done today. Pushing to finish December! Am using a Hawaii shot for NYE, then back to the frozen north and Christmas lights for a ScrapHappy prompt from a couple of days ago. Have given up on doing all the prompts. Suddenly I am just tired of Christmas! By Wednesday (after Ukrainian New Years) I need to start dismantling the decorations and the tree. And I really want to put away the Christmas scrappy supplies, but I have pages to go. And I have made such a mess it will take me days to sort it all and stuff it back in...

I got my 90 page photo book finished and uploaded yesterday! yay!! I was so ready to move onto something else after a solid week of work on it. I won't actually get to see it finished because I sent both copies directly to my family to save on postage. If I ship all of them to NZ through blurb they will print it in Australia and shipping is $20 (less a $7 credit with a coupon code). If I order here and ship it myself it prints near Tacoma and I would get free shipping, but then I gamble on what the post office will charge me - the 5x7" calendars cost $25 to mail!!
I might order myself a copy soon, or I might edit it and add in the pages I left out that my parents don't care about (movies, TV, etc), or I might go back to the original trade book (5x8 lower quality paper, cheaper) design and finish it off. Or I might be so sick of the thing that I decide not to decide and wait to see what it looks like when I visit them in March! kwim?
sigh. I'm tired!
I finally got back to my crafting table today, cleared some space, and broke out some new stamps for my Tuesday "choose your own card challenge adventure" which I will be posting tonight. It was nice to make something with paper and glue for a change.
I took down my Christmas cards once I got that done, and next I'm going to clean up all the stuff I have out from December. I've had "finish the Doodlebug Christmas cards or put them away!" on my to do list for at least a month I think. I haven't made any decisions about how I'm going to do a Christmas album so I'm just going to put all the Christmas stuff away for now. I need to focus on my shop's busy season - Valentines. It's about the only time of year I sell a decent number of cards to strangers (rather than selling to friends and family). But right now my shop is dead! I've been neglecting it over the holidays, and of course I said I would ramp up faster this year but I'm not sure I have. It's a hard time of year for transitions. So many things to get tidied away.
At least I should earn some organizing points this month.
I haven't even taken the time to look at the challenges since about Jan 2nd.
Hope everyone is having a good week.

what the post office will charge me - the 5x7" calendars cost $25 to mai Yeah, it cost me $25 to send an 8x8 calendar from one part of Canada to another this year... I was choked. Actually, it cost me the same to send a 10 lb box as it cost to send the calendar alone which was 1 lb... I took down my Christmas cards I haven't! Well...took most of them down and sorted into piles (keep/repurpose/toss) but my actualcard display with my twinkle lights is still blinking away!

Hi DIVA's! How ya doin'? I finished the last of the "essential" pages for my Christmas album yesterday. Time to start the gargantuan task of sorting, cleaning, and organizing. I HATE this part of any job, and with scrapping I tend to just leave it as I pile one layer on top of another on top of another until it reaches Critical Mass: stuff starts to fall off counters; I can't find anything; I have exhausted the theme and have absolutely no room left to work on anything else. Think I got there yesterday... Also, I want to participate in LisaDV's cybercrop on Saturday morning, and most of you would faint just setting your eyes on my horrendous mess! So the drudgery begins... So far, I spent two hours yesterday and four this morning, and have made some good progress, but no way ready to have it all stowed away yet. And speaking of drudgery, I thought I would keep up with points after the last push to do that, but no, I now have TEN pages to add points for. Oh joy. Paperwork! And let's not talk about the rest of the house. My goal is to have the tree and all the Christmas décor down in the basement by NEXT Friday. I had thought I would do that first and then hit the scraproom. But now I will have cyber guests in here Saturday morning, so I have put off the house sweep until next week! The good news is that I have completed 31 pages and two cards so far this month, and will hopefully get some more things finished on Saturday. Have to create some bd cards, and since I will have the bd bin out I will probably scrap a couple of bd LO's. Have tons of skating and hockey pages to scrap, but not quite ready to dive into another project like that. It will be fun to play with a variety of different pagers for a change. But. Not. Until. I. Clear. Off. These. Counters...

I have been a terrible team member as far as the boards go, too. I am hoping to finish my December Documented album this month (a 6x8 album), some birthday cards, and some Valentine's Day cards for a sale at school. I've made some progress and hope to catch up on my sharing this weekend. I had three lovely days off work (due to school being shut down because of extreme cold) and I got some cards made.

I got base pages and pictures for my DD through December 22. I have to go back and add journaling and embellishments. I only have kit numbers through the 25th. Then I’ll add some New Year’s photos to finish the album. I do need to work on my January work planner travel notebook. Plus, I got my February Cocoa Daisy Kit and now I’m thinking about making a travel notebook wedding album. Because I need another project!

Don't worry about being "bad team members", justjac and cristelina . We are in this to have fun! Love your cards and DD pages, justjac . Sounds like you have done quite a bit of crafting this month, ComplicatedLady . Can't wait to see your creations. Anyone going to be able to play along with jennylilac's cybercrop on Tuesday evening? I would love to stop in to say "hi" but not sure I will create anything... Although I am loving the card challenge azcrafty is throwing down tonight for tomorrow, and I can see making a few sympathy cards to restock my supply.
