Lots of arrows flying around today. The shiniest one is headed to sueg and y'all just know why, for cryin' out loud! OoooLaLa, you sexy thang next to the cauliflower and turnips! And to all who are suffering, big or small, expressed here or kept inside, the softest and most cuddly arrows are headed your way. Grab the ones you need. And to our Love Giant, scrapmaven - you make us so proud to post on this thread. One shiny, sparkling arrow to you!

Everyone is joking about my supermarket encounter today, but it did not make me feel sexy or hot or anything like that. I felt totally creeped out and uncomfortable by it, as this man has spoken to me on the train platform a couple of times before this, and each time I have told him I am not interested in talking to him. I don’t want to be chatted up by a creep while I am picking out strawberries.

If you're feeling harrassed or uneasy talk to your dh. Let your gut instinct take over. I'm really sorry. You have a right to go out shopping w/o feeling intimidated or skeeved.

My deepest apologies sueg. I think I may have started the woo hooing. I assumed it was a benign compliment. I didn't grab the creep vibe.

lucyg I love that you keep buying eggnog even though no one drinks it. I do that, too with other stuff because "tradition". At least it doesn't go to waste and you are making a new tradition. Or lemonade out of lemons. christine58 I'm sorry about your dad and the lingering. It's tough on the downhill. sueg sorry about the creepy guy, I understand the uncomfortable. It's not reached 20 degrees today, I really had no where to be so stayed home in tee and fleece pj bottoms. Have a chicken spatchcocked to roast in a bit. DS wants rice instead of potatoes so rice it is. And another veggie, yet to be determined. Will be nice with all the leftovers, quick meals and nibble types of meals since the holidays.

CarefreeSadie...thanks. It’s been a really tough day. leannec...thanks. I’m sorry you have to go back to work. scrappert...good to see you and thank you. The Birdhouse Lady...I’m only on day 3 but it’s going great. It seems odd to not be worrying about fat and calories but I really want to see if I actually feel better after 30 days. christine58...my thoughts are with you. Sorry for the family issues. Hugs. Sending good thoughts to all of you.

Sending hugs to everyone that needs one.
MIL and I had a girls day out to do a little shopping. I am proud to say that I didn't buy anything. I am trying not to do any impulse buying and also lower my grocery bill and so far so good.
Tonight we had kielbasa with three bean salad for dinner.

LOL, here’s the recipe I use: eggnog custard at allrecipes.com but it’s super easy, anyway. Just basically a regular baked custard, but sub eggnog for the milk and sprinkle nutmeg on top. I do this every January, because I always buy eggnog and then no one drinks it. scrappert , so happy to see you posting again. I was missing you but didn’t want to bug you. Glad to read all your good news, too. miominmio , I’m so sorry your DD is in this uncomfortable position. Poor baby girl. But it will taste better if YOU make it. 😉😂 Jeez, you sound just like my kids.

At least if you’re going to be home bound for several weeks after your surgery, you won’t need to worry about running into him.

Hugs to all, whether you need them or not!
BF was gone last night; I slept so hard, the dog finally woke me up at 6:10!
I bought peppers at Costco the other day, and have been craving sausage with pepper and onions, so that is what I will have. I may have a stray frozen tater tot or two in the freezer, and I will likely have that, too.

The grocery shopping is done for another week, even if I did have to stop at two extra stores to get what Walmart doesn't carry or was out of. My little corner of the world is experiencing rapid growth and the Walmart is seriously over-shopped; they can't keep up. And I remember when picking up a package of paper towels was a simple decision. Now it takes a math degree with all double rolls, different sizes and various other configurations. Enough venting though.
Dinner tonight is sweet and sour sheetpan meatballs with potatoes and carrots. I'll see if I can sell the last of the fruit salad too.
Hugs and comforting thoughts are sent for those who are burdened in any way.

We had potato soup. My 10 year old helped make it. She’s been dying to learn how to cook, and I’m always happy to have help in the kitchen! It was pretty good! I’m having two wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow, so I figured that would be good and easy for leftovers (and something I could eat if I wanted too).

I did homemade pizza. The topping included caramelized onions - caramelized with some apple cider vinegar and maple syrup. Topped the crust with the onions them drizzled with olive oil and ricotta cheese and a little crumbled sausage. It was really good.

miominmio girls are so mean in middle school I’m so sorry for you and your dd. This continued into 10th grade for my dd. It’s still hard for me when I run into one of them around town. scrapmaven I hope your test went well. Spent the morning at hospice with my friend who’s wife went in last month but rallied. Now she’s also in kidney failure and unconscious. Her dh didn’t want to be alone All the family needed to go to work. He just wanted to talk about her. We’ve known each other for almost 30 years and there were so many I hadn’t heard. Went out to dinner with dd 1 & 3. #2 had volleyball then went for steak fajitas after. She now has food poisoning. It’ll be a long night since the bathroom is outside my door.
