Hello fellow reading lovers ! How many books were you lucky enough to read in 2019? Any goals for this year - either number of books or types of books you would like to try ?
I read 111 in 2019. It was a good year for me; not too many duds. Hoping for the same this year.
Happy Reading 📖📚

I read 86. I was lucky enough to read some amazing books this year! I’ve already read 5 books this year and so far none of them have wowed me. My goal is 75 books for the year.

I read 74 last year. I set my goal at 45 for this year because I have some long books that have been on my TBR list. I've read 4 so far, but only because of a bunch of my library books I've had on hold are all coming available and I want to clear that queue.

I started the Harry Potter series (I generally hate 'young adult' books, so that's why I waited so long) and I just finished -- really enjoyed it.

42.
No reading goals for 2020. If I set a certain number as a goal, reading feels too much like an assignment or a job. 🙂

My goal was 60, I read 54. I didn't have a good reading year actually, I started a lot of books, or checked out a lot of books and then didn't finish them.
This year the goal is 52, for now but I've already beat last January (I've finished 4 books so far).
I think the most I read in a year was 110 but I was trying to start a book blog (about books I read as a kid) and a lot of them were short. No one was interested in the blog so I don't have it anymore.

I made it to 48/49. My goal this year is 75. I know there were lots of times I could have picked up a book instead of the remote, so I’m working on that this year.
I’m at 2 full, and 2 books half read this year so far.

HAHAHAHAHA! I came in here so excited to say I READ 15 BOOKS in 2019! And now, I’m just embarrassed! 😑 Everyone has different goals. Do NOT feel embarrassed about it. It’s still more that so many other people do! I bet they were great reads!

I ended up with a total of 98 last year. I've set my goal for 100 this year.
I had lots of good books last year but very few blow you away great ones.

I read 40 books. I will be really honest and admit that I binge watched a lot of Netflix during my typical evening reading time. And that's ok. Some times call for different entertainment and my brain had too many other things to deal with in 2019 to focus on reading often. I haven't set a goal for 2020 yet, but I think maybe 50. I really love to knit, and taught myself how to read and knit at the same time a couple of years ago ... I need to try that again 🙂

I read 67 in 2019, my goal for 2020 is 70. My favorites of 2019: The Ride of a Lifetime by Robert Iger, Keeping Lucy by T. Greenwood, The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides, The Room on Rue Amelie by Kristin Harmel, and The Dream Daughter by Diane Chamberlain.
I've read 5 so far this month and here are my favorites: Elon Musk by Ashlee Vance, The Things I know by Amanda Prowse, and Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker.

HAHAHAHAHA! I came in here so excited to say I READ 15 BOOKS in 2019! And now, I’m just embarrassed! 😑 Well, you beat my 11! Now, if you ask me how many 1,000 piece jigsaws I did last year, well thats another story! I do love reading, so this year my goal is 26 and I’ve already read 4 so maybe I’ll hit my target this year if I can find that balance between books and jigsaws.

I have no idea, I should count keeping track. Do the books I read to DS every night count? 😏 For myself I average a book a week, sometimes more. I love to read and no matter how busy I am, or how tired, I read before bed.
I also listen to audio books to/from work, sometimes at work, and at home while doing chores when DH isn't around. Much prefer books, even audio, over TV.

It wasn’t a great year. Not including rereads I only read 57. My goal was 55 but I usually read much more than that.

I read 118 last year. I'm shooting for 125 this year, but I might have set it to low. Last year I didn't count the books I read aloud to my kids and I plan to count them this year.

I read 16 and listened to 8. So 24 all together (can I count the audio books?).

I read 123 books last year, and have a goal of 104 this year.
I’ve read 6 to date this month. I have a long commute, so generally listen to a book or two a week, in addition to Kindle/paper books.

I couldn't agree more!
I read 71 in 2019 and probably about 3/4 of those were very good. I've done 5 so far in January. I'll try for 70 again in 2020.
I'm a school librarian and we talk about setting reading goals all the time. I set a school goal of 30 books per child and last year 79% of our students read 30 or more. They get so motivated when they see their books adding up and it makes them even more excited to pick up a new book.

My total for 2019 was 97. I usually try for 100 but didn’t make it. I enjoyed all of the books I read, b/c I stop reading if they don’t grab me after 50 pages or so. This year was a good one, I would have a hard time picking my top 10. I’m not much of a TV watcher, so reading and surfing the net are what I do in my spare time. Will go for 100 again this year, I’m on book #4.

I read 19 which met my goal of 18 but more importantly was way more than I read in 2018!
