For the peas in snow country, I have a question about driveway plowing. This winter, we have a new neighbor across the street. They moved in in the summer. We have never spoken with them. I don't really care to speak to them, they have been kind of obnoxious, late night fireworks, barking dogs, etc. Maybe that colors my opinion of their plowing activity. When they plow their driveway, they are pushing the snow across the street, and into our yard. There is a curb, so they aren't driving into our yard, and a lot of the snow is stopped by the ridge of snow throw up by the plows clearing the road. But the drain for the street is RIGHT where they are piling extra snow, so it will take extra time for it to be clear in the spring, and could cause flooding problems. Plus, the extra snow has formed into giant "snow boulders" that are moving farther into our yard and approaching some shrubs. Now, I'm certainly not going to be the crazy neighbor lady who goes and complains to them about their plowing, but do normal people plow like this? The people who lived there before didn't. If they were plowing their driveway from the street up, there is plenty of room for them to pile the snow in their own yard, so that isn't the problem. And driving around town for a look, it doesn't look like anyone else has a big pile of snow in the neighbor's yard opposite their driveways. Here, and we live in a wooded area, anyone who plows snow into the street or onto another’s property will be fined. We have the crew who plows out big driveway put the snow into our own yard. It’s rude to dump it in your neighbors yard. Check with your city/county. See if there is something tgere.
