Generally I make a list on my Notes app of collections I like or things I need for pages/stories. That's a great idea. msliz, I like how you think about it with each gift giving occasion being a purchase. Tuesday is the day of digital store sales. I looked through all of the stores today and didn't hit buy on anything. Yay me!

I’m trying to stay refrigerated until my retreat at the end of the month. I did buy a couple of SG classes. I got sketch support and the 6x6 class. They are both really good. I love the SG sketches, so the sketches alone are worth the price for me.

I had a stressful week and wanted to shop. I spent some time online at Jcrew and went to tuesday morning. Thing is I bought nothing. I’m really trying to be mindful of what I need and will use immediately and nothing fit.
Also my tuesday morning was filled with Christmas stuff and I’m so over Christmas scrapbooking. So now my desire to shoot is gone and I’m still at 0 for the month.
I do love the new Sahlin designs bday kit. I’m t try omg to figure out if I really want it. If on Sunday I still “need” it I will buy it.

I'm unthawing this weekend! My LSS is hosting a garage sale with tons of tables loaded with scrappy goodness from years gone by. I absolutely love picking through goodies I've seen before but never bought, products that I personally like that would work with my current style that I'm into, example prima flowers, ribbon, and bling! And all this at garage sale prices. I can not wait!

It’s one of my favorite dies. And paying $1 for it makes it that much more a favorite.

I was about to unsubscribe from MFT's mailing list (they've recently started sending emails all the time) when I noticed one small upside to being on it - yes, it tempts me to shop, which is bad, but I'm seeing that they have 20% off fairly regularly on things I want, so there's no real urgency. I usually buy full price things from them, I think. I might just set up a rule in my gmail to archive their mailings without me seeing them and next time I decide I actually want to shop there I can quickly check to if there's a deal or when a deal is likely to pop up.

I slipped a little, but really it's DH's fault. He needed new socks that I buy him at TM.
I bought a couple paper pads and a small heart punch. Do we have a "hang head in shame" emoji? Actually, I'm ok with it. If I wasn't trying to reduce my spending, I would have spent a lot more.

I have 2 digital scrapbook bundles in my cart at Sweet Shoppe. I haven't pushed buy yet.
One would be cute for print and cut Valentines, but means I also have to go buy a printer power cord since the movers decided not to put the cord in with the actual printer. Realistically it probably wouldn't get used until next year, because it's already January 25th, so I should just take it out of the cart. By next year, something else will be just as cute if not cuter or I'll get this one on sale then. The other I'd be using for DH's 50th since we're throwing a party in June for him. I really haven't found a kit I like more for this one. It is also the cheaper of the 2 kits. pondering some more
... And this is the thinking that has been going behind my purchases this year. At least I'm thinking things over instead of just hitting buy like I used to do.

At least I'm thinking things over instead of just hitting buy like I used to do. Save that Valentines bundle to a wishlist somewhere, or email the link to yourself, and it will feel like you bought it. Your logic is right that something new will come along before next Valentines and unless you’re ready to do the project right now you’re right, it probably won’t get used. (Although the shop owner part of me is like, wait, we still have time for Valentines, right? Because this is supposed to be my busy season and it’s not so far... eeek!) But do you need to get a printer cable anyway - or is that something you will be able to retrieve at some point? It’s interesting how digital shopping logic has a different urgency timeline than physical (it might sell out) shopping. It’s so easy to buy digital stuff, but there’s a lot less fear of missing out.

I went to joanns and bought 10 sheets of paper for $2. Mostly for my kids. I’m going to give it to them tomorrow while I scrapbook to occupy them. It has mermaid cats. I broke my freeze for mermaid cats. I know how hated they are and misunderstood. I got a couple of pieces of pepper for myself too.
And some cookie cutters. Also for the kids. Also to entertain them so I can have some peace. I actually love cookie decorating with them and baking. It’s a good snowy day activity.

But do you need to get a printer cable anyway - or is that something you will be able to retrieve at some point? We have a 4 car garage packed with boxes and it's probably in one of them. I know the goal is to get to them sometime this year, but... So the power cord probably needs to be purchased as it's my photo printer and does my cardstock printer too.
ecvnj58, I wouldn't consider that breaking a freeze. That is stuff for the kids, doesn't count.

Yay Me! I didn't hit buy even on the birthday pack. I went back in today and just left. This was how I got in trouble with my real life paper supply. I'd buy even though I wasn't using it right then and then by the time I could, I really didn't like it any more. I'm going to wait.
I will need to purchase the power cable sometime soon. I actually wanted to do a few print and cuts last week and couldn't due to no cable.

I’m going to make it to the end of the month! I even went to Tuesday morning and didn’t buy anything! I did buy fabric for my first grand baby’s quilt but I don’t think that counts. I pick the fabric and a good friend makes the quilt so I had to get the fabric to her this month. I’m shopping from my stash and doing the cleaning challenge, which is a good combo.

I want to shop 😑 but haven’t lol. Well, I would have but when I wanted to go to Ms last week it didn’t happen... twice 😂 so somebody upstairs thinks I have enough already ( jk I’m not that important lol). So, after pouting for a bit I started scrapping and I was like I’m glad I didn’t go.... well that lasted a few days lol and I looked around but eh nothing worth getting right now. I do plan on getting some of the new Vicki Boutin so I’ll hold off for that. I have a monthly kit- as much as I love getting kits I have to start using them, I usually don’t.I’m finding that I don’t use them enough to justify the cost.

I'd say I've been more chilly than frozen this month. Telling myself I'm frozen seems more effective even if I don't follow through 100%. My LSS had pre-orders for Creativation releases and I really held back: three Lawn Fawn dies for making Magic Iris cards (so cool) and 2 of the Simple Stories flip books. No paper. No stickers. I have convinced myself to pass on Kelly Purkey's new release, too. She has media stamp sets that I like, but I already bought her book set and I don't document other media enough to invest in stamps. Her Harry Potter stuff looks great, too, but I already have one or two stamp sets and a paper pack. I'm not even a huge Potterhead. I did splurge on a bunch of stuff to organize my stamps (baskets, Avery Elle envelopes, clear plastic sheets) so I still spent more than I planned.

I need to order photos though. Of course, I'm putting it off. It's not one of the items I should be frozen over...

I've done pretty well, only buying adhesive and trimmer blades. Well, until I wandered into the TM thread and read about the punches. I did indulge there. I have a couple carts going but haven't hit the buy button which is pretty much not me! lol

So far this year I've bought enamel dots & white cardstock. Not too bad, really, seeing that I was out of both.both
I'm thinking the next thing I buy will be 12x12 paper. I have zero cardstock in that size left, and I'm out of masculine pattern paper.

I am good as far as scrapbook stuff but I need to buy ink for my printer. Printing supplies is one of the things on my permitted list but I was hoping to get further into the year before I had to buy something.

Did you meet your January goals?
I stuck to my no scrapbook spending, but I'd really like to subscribe to Elle's Studio monthly kit. I won't because I seriously don't need more "stuff" sitting unused. It really helps to unsubscribe to promotion emails.

No, I fell off the wagon buying the Hagrid stamp set from Kelley Purkey & since I already blew the budget I shopped the clearance at Michael’s Whoopsie

I have been spending too much in other categories (eating out, i’m looking at you) so I’ve been frozen in the scrap dept aside from my KP sub that’s about to end anyway.
If I buy anything, I am hoping it will be storage items, as I need to move my scrapbooking desk/area and it’s currently an exploded mess.

I only bought a pack of 8.5x11" white cardstock, a pack of 12x12 cardstock, and six packs of enamel dots. All things that I was out of, all planned purchases. I feel zero guilt about the cardstock because my kids raid my stash for school projects every month. And the enamel dots bring me too much joy to fit any guilt in there. 😁

Hello, February!
I only bought a few crafty things in January: - some planner stickers (discounted, local sellers, unnecessary, but I'll enjoy them) - an Apple Pencil to go with the iPad I inherited - some cardboard storage boxes to organize my craft cart (which was becoming non-functional) - a die from a local small business (Pretty Pink Posh) discounted, but a bit unnecessary it's pretty cool though, and useful for using up scraps, which I love)
I currently have a bunch of things in my scrapbook.com cart/wishlist to make a Christmas album. I don't know if I need or want to make a Christmas album, but I've been watching videos that have made me want the Carta Bella Snow Much Fun collection and some new Shimelle and Paige Evans, and I have a plan for how to make the album. But... I've hardly made any time for crafting this month, and I have other things that I need to do in the coming months (selling crap for a widowed relative, ugh!) My Etsy shop is very quiet and I'm pretty pessimistic about it getting better (if Valentines isn't busy, I don't know when will be busy unless I change course). And I haven't made any time for the deep crafting experiments I had planned to do (kind of like Kristina Werner's capsule but not). So I shouldn't be buying new stuff.
I also shouldn't be blabbering on so much here during my high energy crafting hours! There are cards on my desk waiting for bad puns! I need to make some more stuff before I buy more stuff. That's the plan.

It's February 1st, and I've already been really bad. A digi store had a sale on lots of bright/vivid color kits which I adore. So I spent more than I really wanted. oops.

Now you have the month ahead of you, so hopefully you can use them! The money is only wasted if you don't love them and don't use them IMO. Hope you don't have too much more temptation this month.

I’m chilly this year. The only things I’m allowing myself to purchase are cardstock, and adhesive and album pages if I run out. I received a ton of both for Christmas so if I run out that’s actually a good thing because it means I’ve been getting a lot done. No more patterned paper. My current stash is 6ft tall. As for tools, DH is getting me a Cricut explore 2 for my birthday, I’m still using the original bug that only cuts 6x12 so I’m well overdue for an upgrade. I don’t plan on buying any new digital content for it as I have over 50 cartridges to “link”. So here’s to using up some of the stash in 2020!
