I chilled nicely in January spending wise. I wasn't as productive as I wanted product wise, however,
I did do 4 digital pages (including starting a 2020 goals and progress book), 3 traditional pages, (so much fun to play with paper again), and 5 Valentine's Day cards. I also switched my computer to a new desk that I can roll around giving me better access to a window in my room. All this and dealing with sick family members for the last 2 weeks, so I'm calling January a success!
And since I went overboard yesterday, I'm starting February's chill today.

I finally got around to completing the cashback offer for my new mirrorless camera. A month after purchasing it... I had to take photos of the serial numbers on the body and lens, enter my bank account details, etc. What a hassle but it's done now. Fingers crossed I didn't make any mistakes and I'll actually get the money back! And now the wait begins...

I can def afford it. I’m frozen because I haven’t been scrapping much and also I’ve been spending $ on other things. I could wait, but it might sell out and it won’t get reordered. How often does she run sales?

I would be tempted to buy if it would make you really sad to miss out. I have no idea if KB does sales/how often, but I know with these smaller companies there's definitely more chance of missing out entirely because things don't usually get re-ordered. I can't say "get it!" but I also can't say "forget it!" I had something in my cart at another small business the other day and then I stepped away to check myself. They sent a follow up email the next day and I thought, no... I'll think more. I could use it but then again, I could use all kind of things! A couple of days later she sent a $5 off coupon for it if I ordered in the next 2 days, so of course I got it. I was totally thinking about it from the sellers POV - if I were her I'd really want to save this sale, even with a discount. It's a cool die and I will use it, but did I neeeed it? ehh, we'll see. Let us know what you decide to do. Either way!

I went ahead and bought 2 products from Kerri Bradford. I saw one on an IG post and immediately had a specific page in mind to feature it (the palindromic date yesterday 02/02/2020, which works in US and NZ date formats too, so it makes sense for me and for my family!) It will also be useful throughout my yearly book. While I was there I did the bad thing and checked to see if there was anything else I "needed" and there was, but again, it's something that I will use a lot in my digital photo book to make labels and captions.
I heard a way to judge if you should buy an item of clothing - if you would happily wear it out of the store right now. If not, maybe think twice. I'm using that with my supply shopping. If I have time to make a page right now, will this supply go on it? I want to be itching to use my supplies. But I also have to think about when I will *actually* have time, because I get distracted quickly!

I’m chilly this year. The only things I’m allowing myself to purchase are cardstock, and adhesive and album pages if I run out. I received a ton of both for Christmas so if I run out that’s actually a good thing because it means I’ve been getting a lot done. No more patterned paper. My current stash is 6ft tall. As for tools, DH is getting me a Cricut explore 2 for my birthday, I’m still using the original bug that only cuts 6x12 so I’m well overdue for an upgrade. I don’t plan on buying any new digital content for it as I have over 50 cartridges to “link”. So here’s to using up some of the stash in 2020! You will love your new machine. The cartridges link really quickly. The search and filter feature is awesome. You can search for an image, like frog, then filter by my images. Also, use YouTube video tutorials. I had a hard time figuring out how to cut shadows for letters. You need to search your fonts by multiple layers.

I caved Sunday but in my defense I had a GC, and layered discounts lol. It was mostly for thickers and alpa stickers and a few sheets of paper. But I purchased at SG so it's all in bank it jail for now. It may be a few months before I get it since I have definitely slowed my roll on shopping. I seriously wish I scrapped as quickly as I can fill an online cart lol. pancakes I say go for it if you really want it and will regret not getting that stamp!

So if she bought a $80 sweater, she needed to have four pants/skirts to wear it with. Maybe it was $10. But it was definitely something to think about. I am still frozen. I only purchased cyan toner for my printer which ran out, but is also on my permitted to buy list. I have a gift card to Michael's which I want to use for some journaling pens and to get a kit for my niece - I want to introduce her to scrapbooking.

I bought a couple of digital products this week. My spending is still way less than it was in the fall, so I'm happy. I'm also using some older papers in my last few layouts which also makes me happy.

I am still having my ongoing struggle with Tuesday Morning, but I received a gift cert for Christmas so it's not really spending out of my pocket. Besides there wasn't a whole lot to buy. Other than punches! Woot woot!

I was two doors down from a TM today and I didn’t go in! I felt like I might’ve missed out but I don’t know on what, so I’m going to say there was nothing there I would’ve wanted anyway. I was there (in the parking lot) selling some of my late relative’s craft stuff, and I got so little money for it I’m not sure why I bothered, so that probably helped my mindset. Trying to sell junk is really helping me not to buy junk.

I broke my freeze, but it was a planned break. I went to a weekend retreat and knew I would purchase some supplies there and I got a bunch of new pp. I hadn’t planned to buy a new trimmer, but I have been frustrated by every trimmer I have ever owned. I broke down and bought a Cutterpillar Crop. So far I am liking it.
I also just just placed a Scapbook.com order. I have decided that every few months I will buy some supplies instead of joining a kit club. This way I can pick what I want and find things I will truly use. I bought a bunch of Pink Paislee paper, stickers, and ephemera. I also got some coordinated stickers for the one Canoe two 6x6 paper pad i bought at TM.
Now it’s time to scrap and use some of this.

I've been doing ok. I bought some white cardstock which was needed, but other than that I'm holding strong. I find it easier to restrict my buying early in the year and I've been using up some stuff, not quite enough to make a dent in my stash, and hope I can hold strong once all the CHA releases flood the online retailers.

Today I watched a Jennifer McGuire video that really spoke to me - using supplies I already have to make cards that I should really love. BUT she also showed a product that I KNOW I can use, a gap in my supplies. And so now I’m going to buy that, and a few other things jumped into my cart... and somehow I ended up on another site adding a recently restocked Christmas stamp to my cart, and guess what? Another 3 things jumped into that cart too! I haven’t checked out yet. Checking in here to give myself some thinking time! I’m not intending to be completely frozen but I’m still trying to be careful... I try not to watch JM videos because I know I always end up wanting to buy stuff afterwards. ETA: I took everything out of one of the carts!

So far I've been deliberate in what I've bought this year.
I still need to buy 12x12 page protectors. I'm going to order C-line, because I know the quality is good.
I've been toying with the idea of buying a couple used stamps on ebay/etsy, but I want to see if I can find free clipart of the images I want first (Spoilers: I probably can).
I also almost ordered a bunch of diecuts on eBay, but then the shipping didn't self adjust (was supposed to be $2 first item, then 25 cents each other item added. But it didn't self adjust & i wasn't about to deal with the headache of the shipping being wrong.
I want to get to M's and pick up some paper pads. My pattern paper stash is getting sad.

I realized I need to experiment more with my ScanNCut because some of the things I was putting in my shopping cart yesterday are things I can make myself on my cutting machine. I don’t want it to be an expensive dust catcher! So I’m going to experiment with cutting a few stencils and play with alphabets and numbers.

Before they came out with stencil like material you can cut on the silhouette. I covered both sides of a file folder with clear contact paper and cut those into whatever stencil I was wanting. They aren't pretty, but they work. I bought the stencil material and haven't cut anything.

I bought the stencil material and haven't cut anything. haha, isn't that always the way?! Thanks for the file folder tip. I'm sure I've got something I can use around here. I cut my own cloud and hill stencils months ago with scissors and some leftover acetate and they work perfectly.

Still chilling (winter vibes all around). I got a text message from Fujifilm France confirming my cashback application had been accepted, yay! It can take up to 8 weeks for the money to be actually refunded, though. But eh, as long as it eventually makes its way back to my account, all's well. Nothing I need to have for my crafting. And it's my birthday month so I could easily justify some spending but nah, I'm good. I hope everyone is doing well with their chilling/freezing plans!

I did end up getting some cardstock and ink in January, plus a couple of Papertrey Ink dies I'd been waiting ages for to come back into stock but so far February is going well. Since I splurged a bit last month no crafty purchases for me this month or next.

I’m still frozen too. Anyone think it’s getting easier to stay frozen as time goes on? I haven’t been tempted by anything in a while. I have been happily using my stash. This weekend I made 4 pages. It’s nice seeing the dent in my stuff being made and all these beautiful supplies having their moment.
Keep strong friends.

I've been doing very well with my plans! I have recently been tempted by the new albums from scrapbook.com (white with black polka dots, so dreamy) but I have a few gold ones in my stash and I'm going to hold off for a bit until I actually have a plan for it. Go me!

Except for some printer ink, I've been good. I even went to Michael's with a gift card that's been burning a hole in my pocket for I don't now how long and came out empty handed. I just finished putting together 25 page kits for a crop which put a serious dent in my patterned paper stash. Well, I also did some culling since there are papers that have been around for a decade...I can let those go. So, I was thinking last night, I might need to shop for new pp soon but then looked at the stack of 6x6 paper pads that need to get onto layouts or cards.

Ok, thought I would type this out just to get it out of my head.
Today is Feb 12th. There is a crop I am supposed to in March that is 40 dollars for the two days, but then I always spend at least 10 bucks there, on random things as the lady that runs it also sells CM. She is not pushy at all though. So say 50 bucks there. I have not signed up for that however, as my friend I was supposed to go with found out that is the same weekend she will be out of town.
BUT there is a scrapbook store that I love a little way (45 miles) out of town, that is having a scrapbook garage sale April 4th. I would love to go to this-the last time I went a few years ago, I got a bunch of stuff that I really used.
SO-if I skip the crop, that is 50 bucks in my pocket. Plus, if I stay out of TM from now until April 4th (gulp!!!) I could figure out a reasonable amount to add to my shopping fund. Also, who am I kidding, if I go to the store with the garage sale, I will also likely want some "latest and greatest" stuff.
One last thought-if I really commit to scrapping, and less shopping from now until April 4th, I could make quite a dent in my stash and thus feel better about buying more. I need to really commit to this though. Tuesday Morning is my total downfall.

When I am trying to do the "use to buy" agree to "pay" yourself an amount for every project you complete. Like $1-2 for a LO or card depending on how much product you use. Not too much but just enough where it will add up if you are committing to it. The reward mentality helps me and then I feel like I've earned it. Good luck!
