I guess I had better resign... I gave myself the weekend off chilling and apparently corrupted you too. Sorry. Let’s forgive ourselves and get back into the freezer! And commit to living and using what we bought. This is why Booty says we’re better off having a small budget than going cold turkey/frozen pea.
Best to kick nicolep off this thread too. She is such an enabler.
To combat the no mojo to craft and trying not to buy, I have a membership to a digital site that allows free downloads with membership. The membership I got on a black friday deal. So I have been looking at their kits and downloading things for the last 2 days while sitting at the computer trying to muster some mojo.
That sounds like a good idea! I just loaded my new digital purchases into Lightroom and logged my crafty splurges that qualify as business expenses into my tracker. Now, if I'm smart, I will tag and play around with my purchases right away. I've gotten over my sulking from this weekend and I'm working on getting my head back where it needs to be. Our state just shut down almost everything so I'm going to re-center myself in things as they are right now and make myself a schedule to try to balance my time. I'm in this (self isolation, saving money, going deep with what I own, and decluttering!) for the long haul, trying to balance optimism and realism, so... let's do this thing again!

The store that’s closest to me now has call ahead curbside pick up!!!
Sorry frozen peas, it’s the last LSS in NJ I’m going to do what I can to support them & keep them open. I must save my last LSS
There’s been a few things I’ve been in the fence about getting that I’m going to get from her at this time.

I have made a couple small online purchases to keep me going while isolating. I bought a set of Easter stamps for making cards. I also bought more page protectors. Thank you to joblackford and Nicole for the laughs on this thread!

I made a few online purchases too, not much but since I was low on white cardstock, I figured I’d get a few things

Hopefully you all are doing better than me. I needed a paper today but I ended up buying a bunch of stuff t justify the shipping cost. I’m actively creating and I can afford it so it’s no biggie, really, but I also have new supplies that I haven’t used yet, so [slaps hand]

I'm still hanging in here. I only purchased from Kelly Purkey who's closing her shop soon. I'm waiting for her birthday sale discount next week to place one more order and then I'm done. The good news? I'm already using my new KP stuff! I've used almost every single sentiment from the February kit stamp set already, plucked away at the alpha sheets and PL cards.

My state is currently shutdown to any nonessential businesses, so I'm not working & not making any money.
So no shopping.
Just as good a time as any to really use & love what I already have.
(Makes me so glad that i picked up a two pack of scotch double sided tape on the way home from what turned out to be my last day of work)

I still consider myself frozen. Only bought a pack each of white and black cardstock which I’ve needed for quite awhile. I’ve been schmoozing off my friends the last few crops.

I held strong the other day. A digital designer had a new collection she was selling at 50% off and it was beautiful. I went to buy and then told myself no! You don't need it. You have so many that haven't even been used yet. I felt really good about myself!

Can someone help me justify (or not) $60 worth of stamps from Kerri Bradford?
It’s 2 6x8 sets and 1 4x6 set. They are all pretty timeless — alphas and dates. So I would use them throughout the year, multiple times.
I am not on a budget, so much as I feel like I shouldn’t be buying more scrapbook stuff right now, lol.

Some things I’d ask: Have you been creating lately? Do you have a project that you’re working on right now that you would use the stamps on? Is it likely that they will be available in the future when you do need them? (do these kinds of stamps get retired or restocked?) Did you have a need for them before you saw them, or did you get inspired by seeing them and then justified how you could use them? Are they the block numbers and dates? (I got the digitals for a specific page of a specific project and they do seem very useful)

I'm guessing you're going to buy the stamps - it doesn't sound unreasonable... But at the same time I'd be inclined to wait and see whether you really do have more time for crafting or not, and whether you can use something you already have to similar effect. But hey, if you're going to buy anything, timeless stamps like these sound like a good choice.

I’m kinda proud. I didn’t buy those stamps.
I have many stamps I need to use and buying more stamps seemed silly, even if I thought they were useful.

There’s a lot of useful stuff out there - we crafty types can imagine uses for all kinds of things ! But that also means we can usually find a way to make something else work, if we put our minds to it. And there’s always new stuff (and old stuff) coming out to try to capture our imaginations.

LisaDV that's a very New Zealand image you added! Makes me feel like home to see a proper possum and proper bush (forest). <3

No shopping for me and there will be none in April either as we are in a nationwide lockdown with all non-essential businesses closed (including internet shopping) and there's no point in buying from overseas as with no courier deliveries (they're only allowed to pick up and deliver essential items) things would just sit in a depot somewhere. I need to be careful about discretionary spending anyway since no-one knows how long the lockdown is going to continue. I'm enjoying using my stash and maybe have finally got my craft spending under control!

I broke the freezer. A couple of weeks ago, before the lock downs, I picked up a few things at Micheal's using a gift card. Since that wasn't enough, I also placed a sizable order from scrapbook dot com. Then I was down to a few pices plain white cardstock, so I added that to my subscribe & save with Amazon. Now, for reals, I will not be buying anything except possible photo printing supplies for the remainder of the year.

As predicted, I shopped at Kelly Purkey's birthday sale but that's all. I'm running very low on adhesive here, however. With the lockdown restrictions and non-essentials no longer available from online places like Amazon in my country, I'm not sure when I'll get some next.

I replied with a detailed reply but then the board went down for a hot second and it's gone, ha. Long story short: I am actually due in 2 days, so the thought of starting a new project is definitely a no-go. I will likely incorporate baby stuff with my regular PL since it'll be my new normal. I have one of those storebought baby memory albums to collect baby stuff in that I plan to use as the official baby album. It's this one.

I didn't realize your lockdown was so much harsher than ours. Amazon is prioritizing deliveries so we're back to waiting a week or a month for fun stuff instead of the usual 2 days, and my scrapbook dot com order was more like a SSS order, lol. We'd have a mutiny on our hands here if we couldn't online shop and get deliveries. I hope you have enough adhesive! It sounds like you'll be fine though. Enjoy that stash. Maybe we should all stand frozen in solidarity with you!
