Our air con has decided to stop working, just in time for two really hot days of 40 C / 104 F and 43 C / 109 F. Ugh. I dropped in to see dad after work, then DS and his mate wanted to come over to dad's for a swim, so I hung around there. Dad offered to cook me something, but I ended up just having cheese and crackers and dip. Gorrrrmayyyy baby! scrappintoee poor Meaty! I had to laugh at the vision of you jumping into the pool fully clothed though! Now with the prosciutto, if you don't like it as-is (some people don't like the taste - depending on the sort you get it can be fairly strong), fry it up like bacon. I like it both ways, but I have to admit, I prefer it fried. My Italian friends would probably be horrified.

austnscrapaddict ....Ugh, I'm sorry! (( hugs )) AussieMeg ....Once we knew Meaty was fine, we laughed sooo hard when my friend's daughter imitated me PERFECTLY !!! And then, when she'd retell the story (a million times), she'd imitate me in slow-motion. Hilarrrious! Of course we took piks of me in the pool fully clothed. Since I used to scrapbook every freaking event of my life, I'm sure I meant to do a layout, but I didn't....yet... Hoping he gives me some cortisone shots today because I am walking like a 90 year old hooker.I almost spewed coffee alllll over my screen!!! I'm very sorry you are in "the club" that I am a verrry unfortunate member of! Is it your knee(s), hip(s), spine....all of the above? Yesterday I was in a store where the ladie's room was succch a long walk, it was so hard. This sweet employee looked at me and said "ma'am, can I get you a chair to sit in for a minute?" We started chatting and she told me she SHATTERED her knee and needs a replacement, but she's "putting it off"....Ohhh, how I can relate to that! The thing is, she works in a fitting room / organizes clothes all day, which requires constant standing and movement !!!! I asked her "seriously, how do you do your job every day?" and she shrugged and said she just pulls through. I felt so bad for her---maybe she can't take off the time required for surgery/ recovery, maybe she can't afford it, etc. But it also reminded me that I've met several people lately who are ALSO putting off major surgery, just like meeee and my damn hip

I found out this morning that my position at work is being eliminated, so I'll take all the good vibes everyone can send. I've applied for two internal jobs and looking at outside jobs too. So hopefully something will come along. I'm not looking forward to a change. Oh no, that's too bad! Fingers crossed for you that you get another job quickly.

My Italian friends would probably be horrified. This one is!! Also it's DELISH wrapped around melon balls A ognuno il suo, as my Italian teacher would say. Also, don't knock it til you've tried it! Why have bacon and eggs when you can have prosciutto and eggs?! Another one of my favourite ways to serve prosciutto as a neat little appetiser is wrapped around caper berries and oven baked (it's gotta be caper berries, not the teeny tiny capers). Sooooo much salty goodness!

Bless that woman. I could not do a job where I was on my feet all day. I took down all of our Christmas lights outside on Sunday since it was finally a warm sunny day. You would have thought two buffalos were having sex by all the huffing and groaning I was doing. My knees make me feel so old!

um. Don’t know. Today will be busy and I can’t think about it right now. Maybe spaghetti? I bought Italian sausage the other day. There’s also rechauffe chicken stir fry, but he took some for lunch. How is the bowl working out for him? Dh and I both left work at 4 so we could both avoid a motorcade- he would have been at one end and I would have hit the other had we left at our usual times. I dont think they should be allowed at rush hour. 🙄🙄

austnscrapaddict, I’m sorry about your job. Hope you find one you like even better. um. Don’t know. Today will be busy and I can’t think about it right now. Maybe spaghetti? I was a little worried the day he took chicken noodle soup that it would leak all over, but it didn’t. However, I don’t know what I’m going to do with all this salami, now that he’s decided he only wants reheated leftovers for lunch.

I spent a good part of the day at one of two mandatory training sessions for poll workers for our upcoming Presidential Preference Primary. There will be thirteen days of early voting and then the primary itself. They're long days but it's an interesting way to give back to my community.
Dinner was cajun spiced grilled pork tenderloin, wild rice and broccoli. Pork tenderloins were BOGO this week at my local store so the freezer is stocked.

austnscrapaddict, I'm sorry that you got bad work news. Do you want to stay with your company or move elsewhere? If you want to move then it's time to consider contacting recruiters. If they RIF you will they offer a package? (This is food for thought, not a question that you need to answer publicly.) Are there internal positions that interest you? I was a recruiter and hr manager before kids. So, I'm coming from an HR perspective. The most important thing is that you enjoy your job. If you're going to spend 2/3's of your waking hours each day at work then be happy. I will pray that you have a job that makes you feel good each day, something fulfilling and satisfying. PolarGreen12 , I totally see why you're nervous about your results. Just remember that if the numbers are off that is normal stuff when one has a thryoid condition. I'll pray that everything is normal, but I'm not worried, because I'm guessing that everything is benign and fine. I'll wait with you if that's OK? On another note, I'll raise you a bad knee and give you another bad knee and 2 bad hips. HA! Take that!
