As we begin a new week I'm going to suggest that each one of us does something that brings us happiness once per day, at least. It could be a bath w/candles or a good book or a hobby or anything you want. It can be simple and easy or bigger. Each one of us could use something good this week and I wish that for this tribe. This am I'm going to have my Monday decaff w/my mom friends. That always makes me feel good.
Dinner is PW's chicken noodle soup. My sil is coming back from mil's. So, I'll get French bread for toast to eat w/soup.
What's on your menu?
PolarGreen12 and scrappintoee, you're both facing medical stress. My thoughts are w/both of you and I'm wishing that this week brings you good news.
May your dinners be tasty and your week be nice.

I'm off work today for an appointment with my therapist ... I need it because my dd's are being quite difficult to deal with these days ... they don't like me very much right now I'm going to spend some time reading before I leave so that's what I'll do to take care of myself today scrapmaven Dinner tonight will probably be the fresh chicken tortellini with a red sauce that I didn't make the other night ... easy peasy Hugs to those who need them today

My thoughts are with everyone facing medical issues this week - I know how draining it can be.
Not much happening here - therapies continue, movement keeps improving, pain level keeps going down. I spoke to my doctor today about beginning to reduce my pain meds - I have been on a cocktail of 3 different types, now one has been eliminated after cutting back on it for a few days. I will have a full appointment with him on Thursday, which will be to check everything before I leave, and I’ll talk to him again about that.
Lunch was soup, chicken breast with mushroom gravy and Spätzle, with caramel pudding for dessert. Dinner tonight is filled crepes.

I haven’t thought about dinner yet. I guess probably the pot roast I made yesterday ... it’s like having money in the bank, just sitting there in my fridge, already cooked and ready to be spent, I mean, eaten.
Yup. Pot roast. I guess I will need to make mashed potatoes, too.

I think my happiness will come from a nap. I got up and went to work but left after less than a half hour. What I really need to do is call the number a friend gave me for a therapist but I haven’t been able to bring myself to do it. I did go to the bank to deal with some things and got a headlight changed in my car.
Dinner will probably be a hamburger and some salad or broccoli.

Morning ladies!!
It's a new week and I'm trying to stay positive. I'm trying to practice what I preach to dd.
Dd's friend is coming over after school to work on their project.
My housework is pretty much done for the day. I'm still working on doing laundry. I've already run errands this morning and now back.
Dinner tonight is pan seared chicken, jasmine rice, and steamed broccoli.
Have a great week ladies!!

I’m thinking leftovers. Or soup. Everyone is sick together with a cold right now so energy levels are low.,

My happiness will come this evening when I'm snuggled up in bed with my cats watching "The Stranger" on Netflix.
Between now and then I have to finish my school day, run some errands, stop by my parent's house, and heat up some leftovers (stuffed peppers) for DH's dinner. I'll have some fruit for dinner.
Thinking of all dinner friends, especially those with health issues.

Looking like that IP potato soup is just going to have to wait. We had pot roast yesterday so think I might try a shepherds pie with the leftovers tonight. That'll feed 4 of us; the grandsons like it but ddil is keto and ds doesn't do gravy or 'soggy bread' (my recipe has mashed potatoes on the bottom and biscuit topping on top) so they're on their own!

Sorry I turned things into the medical hour. I feel like I missed it. I don't want to make you rehash, I'll go look for a thread where I clearly was inattentive this week. My thoughts are with you despite me not knowing. I'm going to run tonight. And then indulge in a bubble bath. I finished my book last night. It was The Identicals by Elin Hilderbrand and it was a perfect, easy read as her books always are. I'm looking for a recommend of something equally fluffy that won't require too many brain cells. I'll make some chicken/goat cheese/honey something with green beans. It's a Home Chef meal. I'm just going to pop that bad boy in the oven and then go run like the wind. Well, I will run like someone who's dog only has to skip along with. She's not even breaking a sweat and I'm huffing and puffing. But I'm doing it!

What I am not doing is cooking anything today. We have rechauffe out the wazooly-ooly. Thanks for the thread. You show leadership and compassion with every post. You, too, leannec .

Hugs to everyone, and especially PolarGreen12 and scrappintoee. Nothing worth mentioning, but I am tremendously grateful for my boring, uneventful life. Oh, dinner? Spaghetti.... because, you know my «empty the freezer» quest.

Our oven broke yesterday, SO is supposed to get the part today and fix it so we can make the frozen lasagna we were supposed to have last night. If that doesn't happen, sloppy joes.
My idea of a good thing for today is to relax in my couch and do nothing the rest of the night after dinner.
Hugs and well wishes for those that need them.

Hugs all around...I thought 2019 was bad but 2020 sucks. Our small town has lost at way too many since the new year. Young men fighting cancer, another who committed suicide (I grew up with his Uncles and mom), my dad, my friend;s Uncle who was just a riot to talk to.... I am just sad...
Dinner is left over chicken pot pie.

christine58....Wow, that is A LOT !!! (( hugs )) scrapmaven.....Since your cancelled surgery last week (again, I say "YIPPPPEEEE!!" ) Meaty, Sophie and I are still praying that your tube site is still healing on its own !!!! Thanks for the kindness, dear dinner peeps! I'm much better today, and SO thankful! I'm gonna ask Meaty and Sophie (or this cute internet bulldog) to cook our din-din tonight. I have NO idea what we're having, and I haven't felt up to cooking. I tried 2 new recipes last week, and they were just .....okay. It's disappointing to buy all these NEW, fun ingredients, try to expand my repertoire, and then.....meh....

We are taking the leftover queso from last night and making nachos with it, because we are fancy like that!
We liked the empanadas, but both felt like they were missing something. Couldn't put our finger on it, but they were missing something!

we were supposed to have chilli tonight but time got away from me (its a crockpot recipe) so we'll have a cold supper instead - lunchmeat, cheese, raw veggies, potato salad, strawberries...I like that better anyway (I'm not a chilli fan but DD13 loves it)

I think the groundhog was right; I saw robins on my walk today. Spring is my favorite season and I'm more than ready for it to arrive.
Dinner tonight is Coconut Chicken Curry over jasmine rice. While we've had it before, this time I'm using a new recipe. It got rave reviews so I'm hoping we agree.
Walking in my neighborhood is something I do for myself almost every day. The fresh air, sunshine when Mother Nature cooperates and time to let the brain free-wheel definitely feeds my soul.
Sending hugs to one and all.

I've got that on our *Watch* list when we finish Bosch. Are you enjoying it? I'm only seen episode 1, but I was sucked in. I don't read Coben's books, but I've liked the series that have come to Netflix. I started this last night and am on the fence. Partly because the stranger's baseball cap looks ridiculous perched on her beautiful hair - no one I know IRL would ever stick on a cap if their hair looked that good - and partly because there are too many story lines/plot twists. I do like seeing Siobhan Finneran in another role (O'Brien in Downton Abbey and Clare in Happy Valley) so will keep watching. Everyone is on their own for dinner here as we have a fridge full of Super Bowl feast leftovers. Making it to a morning yoga class followed by a walk at the beach brought me my happiness today.
