Sam- we don't have High Street betting places here, and there's no way I'd make money betting on any Detroit team. No one will bet for them to win!
I hope the game continues to grow here. I wonder if the concussion problem with American Football will steer more boys toward the game. I could see that as a turning point for soccer in then U.S.

I'll say, I think this is the first game that Landon Donavon was missed.

Once the US improves their youth system, they will be better able to compete internationally.

I'm impressed with their performance overall. I'm not a huge soccer fan, but they really weren't expected to make it out of the group of death in the first round. If they had won today, it would have been a decent upset.
I'm still rooting for France, but I'm not sure they'll make it past Germany.

What a heartbreaker. Tim Howard gave all today. Respect. What a class act. Choked me up to watch him fight back the tears in the post game interview. He could not have done more.
And, no Landon would not have made any difference...given his level of fitness and the intense conditions in Brazil, he would have been flat out on his face after 30 minutes. He was not the answer. The answer lies in the youth that stepped up big in this tournament and will in the future.
