And how are they taking it?
My son is morose. Although they will try to conduct classes online, many of his classes won't be able to make that work. And he has a girlfriend who he does not want to leave. On the other hand, he's pretty freaked out about the virus so he's not complaining as much as I expected.

A&M is on spring break this week and ds2 is home. He’s been reading on twitter that they will probably extend break by another two weeks but I am doubting that will happen.

mine is home on spring break this week - her school is in Orlando which surprisingly enough hasn't announced any cases yet (I suspect that'll change soon - between the airport and Disney/Universal and all the conferences...it'll be there soon if it isn't already). UCF is monitoring closely

DS is supposed to be coming home for spring break next week. No idea yet if his University will cancel SB, send them out early, and/or tell them not to come back after. Rumors are running rampant the kids who were brought back from studying abroad haven’t been self quarantining, but are out and about partying etc, so who knows when/if cases will start emerging...

Mine is on spring break this week. She lives in an apartment next to campus and I'm not sure if that would close or not.

Our governor hasn’t made any decision yet on closing the state colleges. My daughter told me her professors have been advised to be ready to go online anytime. Mixed feeling about that from the kids.

I have not heard there has been any modified schedules for college in Colorado. (I could be wrong)

DD had her break and is still at school. She went to my brother’s over the weekend, but otherwise stayed on campus to work and because coming home for only 8 days wasn’t worth the jet lag.
DS is on break this week and stayed in his apartment. He’s also working extra hours this week—his first big project he’s designed all on his own (he’s an electrical engineer and designs circuit panels.)
I think Minnesota only has three reported cases so far, so they are safest where they are. Belgium has over 200 cases and someone tested positive at NATO HQ. DH is trying to find out if he was exposed. Yikes!

Mine is on spring break this week. I'm not eager to send him back next weekend, although probably the other kids will not be thrilled to see him or any other of the NY/Seattle kids back on campus - not to mention all the international students. We'll see how things develop in DC this week.

Quoting myself, but we just got notified classes are canceled til the 18th, and they will re-evaluate before then. So DS will be home a bit longer. There are confirmed cases in Dallas and Houston -- both of which are pretty close to College Station. ALL international trips are canceled through May and if you go out of the country they are requiring you to get on a registry and if you are coming back from a Level 1-3 country, you must self quarantine and notify them.

My daughter in California has Spring Break 3/24 to 3/29.
Lot if emails from the school about no cases in the area/on campus yet but nothing about suspending classes at this point.
They are on a quarter system and have finals next week.

DD starts break this weekend and her school extended break to two weeks. She is going back after week one to work, however. Campus isn't closing so she can stay in her townhouse.
The situation is fluid for sure so we'll see what happens. She said they're discussing contingency plans if they have to cancel in-person classes.
The high school where I work is planning to do cyber school just in case we have to close. Our students all have Chromebooks so it will work.

My son is at OSU and they're on spring break this week. They're not supposed to go back and classes will be held online. But he's a performance major and his Senior Recital is coming up. He's been in touch with his professors and none of them know how they'll handle the group rehearsals and performances yet.

My DD is a sophomore at OSU just got word last night they are going online. She’s home for spring break. Trying to decide if she’s going back as planned. Waiting to hear from her friends.

I’m wondering if local community colleges will follow suit. My son's school, UC Santa Barbara, just emailed him with the news that they will be going to as much online learning as possible now and for spring quarter. Their spring break doesn't start until next Friday so they are heading into finals in just a few days.

Oldest ds is at a maritime school. Some of his classes he could do online, but others are hands on. They went back to school last weekend. They’re a small school in a relatively remote area of Maine but who knows? No plans to go online yet.

Dd is home for spring break for 3 weeks. Her boyfriend arrives Friday. We haven’t heard anything yet.
Ds21 school is extending their spring break by a week and preparing to do online classes if necessary.

I’m wondering if local community colleges will follow suit. Not here. Not yet. Youngest DS is living here at home while doing a semester at a local community college. He says there's been virtually no talk at all on campus of any precautions or potential change in plans.

I’m wondering if local community colleges will follow suit. Interesting that only 3 out of 10 UC campuses are going to online classes so far. This Union Tribune article today says the Cal State schools might close for 2-4 days to while they make adjustments: DS has a friend studying abroad in Italy this semester and last I heard he wasn't coming home.

My son is in his third year of law school at the University of Texas at Austin. His spring break starts on the 16th. As of now, they are having classes as usual, but I’m guessing they might go to online classes after spring break.
I’ll be a sad mom if graduation is cancelled. I understand that may be necessary and in the grand scheme of things cancelling a graduation to stop the spread of a deadly virus is not that big of a deal, but I’ll still be sad.

There is a small and very unique university not far from my city. We only have 8 cases in the whole state and none in the city this school is in. They have shut down, want all the students gone and will not be offering online classes. They are just ending the semester. They've not made plans for how the students can finish the year. Each professor gets to decide how to let students do coursework. It has a lot of very low income, rural students and they know many of them will not have access to internet at home. They also have a lot of international students who may not have a way to get home. They are working to find places for those kids to stay and they are going to pay the kids for their work/study through the end of the semester (the whole school is work/study). Their press release just seems very rushed and reactionary. I wonder if they know something about folks who may be sick but not tested yet.
My DD is a senior at Butler in Indianapolis. They are on spring break right now, and the university says they are preparing resources for any professor who wants to do class online. My DD lives in a rental house, so she may stay up there for a while.

Hofstra University is about 10 min from me. They closed. I haven't heard about Nassau Community College yet and that is right across the street.
Latest closures I've heard of from friends with kids at the respective schools are Sacred Heart University and Cornell.
My kids are in HS and all of their teachers today required them to sign up for Google classroom in each class in case they need to close the school and go online.
We are on Long Island.

DGD is home on break from Ohio State and as Chrispeas said they will be off until at least the 30th. DGS (her brother goes to school at Montana St. and will get home for break on Fri. Don't think they have cancelled anything there yet.
All indoor sporting events at all levels in Ohio will go on without spectators this weekend . Parents only may attend the State HS tournaments.(Girls Basketball and Wrestling are this weekend.) At least that's what they are saying right now. Sad for the kids that have worked to achieve their level of success but their safety is more important. Huge $ loss.

We are in Eastern WA state. So far we don’t have any confirmed cases. Both my kids are at WSU, surrounded by wheat fields (nothing out there but college town). They have SB next week. A ton of students come from the west side of the state for school so everyone is expecting the school to close after break assuming that students will bring it back with them. DS has an off campus job and apt not sure what his job has told him (he works at his apt complex). DD is in a dorm. She doesn’t have a job so she will stay home if they go online. I expect DS will stay there, he’s always holed up in his room anyway.

My DS had his Spring Break last week. So far there hasn't been talk of changes. He is supposed to graduate in April. He has at least one class that cannot be done online and another that probably can't be done online. The rest he could if necessary. He lives off campus and could probably stay there if he didn't want to come home. It's the whole not knowing how to plan that is worrisome.
