Yes they finally announced it...they should have done that days ago. But they only did it after the McLaren team pulled out last night and Mercedes asked for it to be formally cancelled. It seems race car drivers have more sense than our current crop of politicians. At least I'll be able to sleep well and not have the cars buzzing in the background all day.

I just can’t imagine March without March madness.
i get why they are cancelling it of course, but I’m really sad. I can’t even begin to imagine how the players feel.

We are in the cheer world. All cheer comps for the next 2 weeks have been postponed (not sure if they'll actually get rescheduled or not). We have 2 major events coming up at the end of April and beginning of May. These are the 2 comps that the athletes work for all season. There is a real possibility they will get postponed or canceled.
We have 4 tix to this weekends Atlanta race. They are crediting us for a future race this season or next.

Cherry Creek School District in Colorado closed 1 week after Spring Break until March 27th... OK for me as I was laid off and can watch the kids.

Dallas County, Texas, just declared NO public gatherings until after March 20th. My church had decided not to have services for 2 weeks--I guess all churches are shut down now.

We had opening weekend tickets for the Astros (yeah, haters, we still love them). We’re sad. No judgement from this Patriots and Red Sox fan.

And now Disney World is closing as of Sunday. We were supposed to fly from Phoenix to Orlando on Saturday to spend spring break at DisneyWorld. Luckily, we changed our reservations yesterday to reschedule for October (mainly due to my increased work efforts. I didn’t want to be on work meetings and answering calls while at the happiest place on earth.) Otherwise, if we didn’t call yesterday and make new arrangements, we’d be scrambling now.

In the USNBA NHL MLS NCAA Broadway and tons of other entertainment in NYC Disneyland Carnival’s Princess Cruise Lines SXSW Houston Rodeo Coachella & Stagecoach postponed Gatherings > 250 in California if I understand correctly InternationallyWorld Cup World Figure Skating Championship Australian Grand Prix Italy ~ Pretty much everything but groceries and pharmacy, right? Travel within extremely limited. France ~ all daycares, schools, universities. Cancelling elective surgeries so resources can be used for this. Norway ~ All daycares, schools, universities. Theaters, museums and sporting events expected. Those are the major ones I can think of off the top of my head and some other peas have listed have been added now. I’m wondering when they will make a decision about Fiesta and I know Ironman is still monitoring but I haven’t seen any cancellations Today my cousin told me that Poland closed all schools, universities, theaters. So much in my corner of the world (coastal Cali town) seems to have been cancelled as of today: our UU congregation has suspended worship services and a Jewish congregation has done the same. My Zumba teacher cancelled classes. Our university has cancelled all of the upcoming lectures and performances (lots!) - we get a ton of great speakers and entertainers of all sorts come here. My quilt guild also cancelled meetings. Huge orchid show was all set up and ready to open... nope. I fully support all of these measures. I told my Zumba teacher I'd be happy to pay her while not attending classes.

Our judicial bench is meeting today to decide what to do with the Courts. They cannot shut them down without the governor ordering it. They need to hold a bail hearing daily at the very least. But in any given day we have several courtrooms that are full of hundreds of people for 3-4 hours at a time. We also have several judges on the bench that are in the older population.
As of yesterday, my state had 9 confirmed cases.

San Antonio postponed Fiesta until November. It’s our Marti Gras, with about 3 million people in attendance over a week and a half. Was happy to see that because those events can be sardine level packed. I’m breathing a tiny bit easier with each of these announcements.
