May we who are merely inconvenienced
Remember those whose lives are at stake.
May we who have no risk factors
Remember those most vulnerable.
May we who have the luxury of working from home
Remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent.
May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close, Remember those who have no options.
May we who have to cancel our trips
Remember those that have no place to go.
May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market, Remember those who have no margin at all.
May we who settle in for a quarantine at home
Remember those who have no home.
During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other, Let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors.

That did it. I'm holding back tears at my desk. I just posted on another thread that I fear we've lost the capacity to sacrifice for the greater good.
I've been on edge for a while now, so worried for the vulnerable among us. I'm watching the panic and wondering what on earth I can do to catch those around me who will fall through the cracks that are widening in our society right now. Trying to figure out how to not only remember these people, but to help them. I'm willing myself not to crawl under the covers.

((((HUGS)))), librarylady. And hopes that your friends, family, neighbours and yourself all come through this crisis alive and well. Over on the scrapbooking board, we are having a crop weekend for those who are homebound because of the virus, and people are looking for ways to document this huge event in our lives. I will link this thread over there. I would not be suprised if that prayer ended up on several pages in scrapbooks or journals or planners... Thanks for sharing. |
