We finished Doctor Foster last night. We're sorry there won't be a 3rd season to tie things up.
We're on the second season of Dead to Me and just watched the first episode/season one of Last Tango in Halifax.

I found the BEST Australian show last night! "RAKE" (Netflix) I don't think I've ever seen it mentioned here and no one I know IRL has mentioned it, which is surprising. ( AussieMeg...have you seen this? I think you'd like it! ) Trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqN9Xrg5j0IP.S....I learned this tidbit: A rake, short for rakehell (analogous to "hellraiser"), is a historic term applied to a man who is habituated to immoral conduct, particularly womanising. Often a rake was also prodigal who wasted his (usually inherited) fortune on gambling, wine, women and song, incurring lavish debts in the process

I have a scandi (as in Scandinavian) noir obsession. I have been watching Trapped (Iceland) and Deadwind (Finland). The shows are the basic procedurals, but I love the ice.

I just posted about this at the top of the page, LOL. When I searched it did come up on this board previously. I like the show but Cleave does irritate me at the same time. But some good laughs to be had, for sure.

She lent me the DVDs so I could watch it but I've never gotten around to it. There is a US remake of Rake but the people I know who tried watching it said it wasn't as good as the original.

Watched Love on the Spectrum the last couple nights. It’s only 4 episodes. It was quite sweet and I found the mean and women endearing. Definitely recommend for a feel good binge.

Has anyone watched The Umbrella Academy? I keep seeing it advertised on Netflix but don't know much about it.
Last weekend a friend told me about The White Queen, The White Princess and The Spanish Princess. Watched The White Queen and loved it. Just started The White Princess but it just isn't the same.
DS got me into The 100. I am on season 6 now but so far not loving this season. I don't know if I want to continue.

He thought the second season was as good or better than the first. I’ve watched all the princess series and the first is by far the best. the Spanish Princess is cringy-almost felt like a telenovela.

We just finished the first season of Last Tango in Halifax. What a delightful show! It is centered around 2 70+ year-olds who lost touch as teens and their families. The actors who play the couple are just wonderful. It is a sweet, sad, poignant, hilariously funny show.

"Mindhunter" (Netflix) is based on the true story of FBI agents in the 1970s who were the first to analyze WHY people murdered/raped, etc. It is hard to watch some scenes-- I have to fast forward sometimes. Trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFlKiTwhd38 I haven't watched the epis with Charles Manson, "Son of Sam", and others yet, but I read that the actors portraying them are amazingly accurate.

I loved Offspring. I think I might just indulge again. Ohhhh, I loved Offspring, too!! Aside from loving everrrything about this show, I thought the nurses and the head surgeon (Nina's boss) were sooo hilarious! I would have loved to see more of them and/or a spin-off series focusing mostly on them. With being home sooooo much, I keep thinking I may re-watch it, too. I always think I won't enjoy a series I've already seen, but I need to just give it a try and see. We just finished the first season of Last Tango in Halifax. What a delightful show! It is centered around 2 70+ year-olds who lost touch as teens and their families. The actors who play the couple are just wonderful. It is a sweet, sad, poignant, hilariously funny show LOVED it, too! I've been watching sooo many murder mysteries and serious documentaries, I might re-watch some of my lighter faves like this one. P.S...I can't remember if I told you or not, but I LOVED the Harlan Coben (?) series you've touted. There was one that I almost gave up on because I wasn't following it at all. Thankfully, I decided to give it another chance, and loved it! It turned out, I had accidentally started on the 2nd (or maybe 3rd) epi. LOL....no WONDER I couldn't figure out what was going on!

I've been absolutely hooked on the US version of Shameless. William H Macy is the PERFECT Frank Gallagher. I watched the British version years ago. Loving the US version so much more.

For when I need some light entertainment, I’ve been watching Instant Hotel, an Australian reality show. Five teams compete to be named the best Instant Hotel (AirNB). They visit each others homes and judge. I’ve seen similar shows from Canada and the UK, but this edition has that delicious Australian humour and character added in. Plus the show takes you to so many gorgeous places in Australia. A total love for me. Netflix.

My friend told me about a show on the history channel called Alone. I’m going to check that out next. OMG, DD recommended Alone. There are 7 seasons. Season 6 is on Netflix. It is addictive as in “okay just one more episode before bed.” 🥱😴 We are having so much fun texting with DD about the participants. Then we found seasons 1 and 2 free on Amazon Prime. All other seasons are pay for play. The finale is on tonight! I accidentally found it a few months ago and love it! I’m currently watching season 1 and it’s so interesting to see how much they have changed things.

If you’ve seen the televised version of Hamilton, do you see the Mindhunter connection? I don't know about the other "Mindhunter" fans who posted, but I don't plan to watch "Hamilton." I'm so curious what the connection is, though. Watched a cute show on Netflix last night, "Pick of the Litter". It is a documentary about 5 puppies who are trained to become guide dogs for the visually impaired Aww....thanks for the reco! Added to our watchlist . I've been absolutely hooked on the US version of Shameless. William H Macy is the PERFECT Frank Gallagher. I've read such good things, and tried watching, but found it sort of depressing with the dad being drunk so often. I gave up after about 4 or 5 epis. I really like Willaim H. Macy, though---should I give it another chance? I've found MANY series that get a lot better, as long as you're patient. For when I need some light entertainment, I’ve been watching Instant Hotel, an Australian reality show. Five teams compete to be named the best Instant Hotel (AirNB) Thanks! I need something mindless and light in between all the dark shows! Added to my watchlist.

And act gay-crazy like everyone imagines King George acted. He was a pure joy to watch.

I have 1 more episode of the World’s Greatest Race:eco challenge.
I’m not sure how old it is. It’s on prime.
I am kind of surprised at how naive/unprepared some of the elite teams are. Even I know that when you go in mountains the temperature drops.

I had to go to youtube to see him....how FUN to see the actor I've only seen as a serious FBI agent play that role! I'm not a fan of the musical (watched MANY clips, TRIED to like it, but.... ), but it was still fun to see him---thanks for the info.

This is in reference to Doctor Foster. I kept waiting for the final episode to see the dinner party. Oh.my.word. DH and I were loving every minute of it! The uncomfortable looks and then when Gemma started talking... It was a great scene wasn't it? She just kept dropping bomb after bomb. I do with they had ended it at series one though. In series 1 she was tough and strong, later they made her weaker, clingy & a bit pathetic. I am hating Season 2 because they've made her so weak. I'm on the 4th episode, but think I'm going to give it up. I just can't stand watching her now.
