I'm so curious if any of you watched the AWESOME BBC series "River" and what you thought. Not just fantastic British detectives solving a murder, but soooo much more! ** Warning----don't watch if you don't like very SAD themes such as severe grief, loneliness, etc!) ** There's a trailer in the post above if you're interested. On a MUCH LIGHTER note..... ** A little news for my fellow fans of "Kominsky Method" (Sooo good, and also funny at times! It's about 2 best friends dealing with growing old, dating after death and divorce, loved ones dying, etc). DH and I are soooo looking forward to season 3, and just found out Alan Arkin has dropped out ! I did a little searching to find out why, but can't find one. DH thinks he may be sick. Ugh, he and Michael Douglas had such GREAT chemistry as best buddies !!!

Sad state of affairs at my house! Next up The Kitchen. I feel that way sometimes, too. I cannot WAAAIT to go and DO things again !!! Pandemic fatigue is hitting me hard lately! But in the meantime, I'm so thankful we have soooo many good things to watch while we're all stuck at home!

I'm not sure anyone has mentioned it yet, but I've been watching the Netflix original movie ENOLA HOLMES while I'm on the treadmill the past two days. I'm at about the 1.25 hour mark. So far, it's been fun, engaging and clever. The lead actress is from Stranger Things and she is so perfect for the role as it's written/designed. Henry Cavill is in it as Sherlock Holmes. Where I'm at in the movie, he hasn't done anything really impressive so I'm hoping that changes because he can be interesting with good material.

Has anyone started Emily in Paris on Netflix? Curious what your thoughts are. I don’t think it’s meant to appeal to my demographic, but of my son’s friends stars in it, so I suppose I ought to sit down and start watching it at some point.

I watched the new Challenger space shuttle mini-series on Netflix. It was really well done and was full of new interviews. Sad, but also interesting and educational about how NASA and certain contractors were bowing down to government pressure to stay on schedule.

It won’t be the same without Alan Arkin not sure it would be worth watching.

Ok, I bought Netflix for a month and just finished E1. It’s cute in a mid-numbingly predictable way. Not sure if I’ll make it all the way through but....if you watch it, the very end of the first episode made me giggle. It is me, COMPLETELY, on my first trip to Morocco

We just discovered a new to us show last night - Jack Whitehall Travels With My Father. Jack Whitehall is an English comedian. His father is Michael Whitehall, an English television producer, talent agent and tv personality. Season 4 was just released, but we have started at the beginning. Really funny show, made even funnier because some of the stuff the dad does is so much like DH! Has anyone started Emily in Paris on Netflix? Curious what your thoughts are. Just read an article about in the today's NYT that talked about the reaction of the French to the show. I hadn't heard of it at that point but have added it to my list to watch later.

We are binging Suits on Prime. It’s so good! I was pleasantly surprised. When we finished watching the series we went back and watched the first episode again. So good! DH, DS and I all watched the show together and loved it. The last season was missing Mike and Rachel and we knew that would be the end of the show.

We finished season 2 of Big Little Lies on HBO last night. Enjoyed seeing all the places we know in Carmel and Pacific Grove. Meryl Streep was good/creepy as Perry's mom and Nicole Kidman's mother-in-law.

Totally missed this when you posted it. The entire show is one huge cliche (not just about the French) so I'd imagine that they're not very happy with it. I cringed more than I thought I would in 2020. I watched it all over the last 4 days. Had it not been for my son's friend, I would have given up halfway into the first episode I'm not their target demigraphic, and it's just vapid fluff. Whch is FINE if that's what you (a general you) like. I really don't, unless it's *smart* too.

I watched it though I’m definitely not the target audience (all the selfie taking was so annoying) and can’t really figure out who would be. The one thing I loved was her iPhone case. When I finished watching it on Sunday, I googled, found it, but it’s already sold out everywhere!

I binged Emily in Paris in a couple days. I thought Lily Collins was just adorable. I am not the target audience, but I like Darren Starr shows so I knew it would be a fun binge. I also loved the on location shots.
