We've watched 4 or 5 episodes and are still on the fence. I don't know if DH will ever get there. Our favorite character is Stevie, the front desk clerk at the motel. The actress is almost 40! I was the same way, and MANY people I've talked to agree that you have to give it quite a few episodes before you realize you kinda love it. I discovered it maybe 2 years ago, watched 3 or 4 epis, and gave up. After quite a while, I decided to give it another chance; I'm so glad I did. I only watched the last season recently, and now I'm very bummed it's over. My DD told me to get through the first season. It's like fine wine, it just gets better with age. I also had watch a few episodes years ago and didn't hate it, but not worth my limited time. Some shows I just love immediately (Kim's Convenience, Catastrophe, Mrs. Maisel) and others I just don't care if I watch again. But based on her and your recommendations, I'm going to try again. I have very little TV time and I like very few shows, but when I like them, I usually LOVE them.

If you want to watch some (good) depressing Russian drama, you have to check out To The Lake, on Netflix. It's a series from 2019 about a viral outbreak and the parallels to Covid 19 are insane. It's winter and cold and very creepy and kind of cozy (not really). Lots of stereotypes. Yes it's subtitles but about 95% of the shows we watch are with subtitles. I just watched this. It was dubbed in English so I didn't need subtitles. I can never watch anything with a language dubbed in. I don’t like hearing actors just reading their lines; it sounds so unreal and "lifeless" to me. I much prefer to listen to the original language and read subtitles in either French or English, as available. I know, I’m strange. 😊

We tried it twice before and just couldnt get into it. We started watching again last weekend and are enjoying it now. Right? And now I wonder why it didn’t stick for me the first time. I’m into S3 and am sad to know it’ll end after S6. I sure hope the end of the series is really satisfying! It ends beautifully. <3 I found the first episode quite screechy but after that, I was all in. It did help that I was home sick over the long thanksgiving holiday so I got through 3 seasons pretty quickly and proceeded to tell everyone I know to watch it. I've recently watched on Netflix: - Emily in Paris - really cute
- Home Edit - I liked their approach but preferred the non-celebrity clients
- Dream Home Makeover - similar to every other design show but I liked that they were 25 minute episodes which cut the fake drama in other design show.
- The Trial of the Chicago 7 - well done, spectacular cast
- Challenger: The Final Flight - I only watched one episode bc DH wants to watch it with me.
I also watched all of Below Deck & Below Deck Med on Bravo/Bravo on Demand - good for background noise.

Dont know if it's already been mentioned, but I liked "Sing On". It's a game show hosted by Tituss from Kimmy Schmidt and is basically karaoke, so it's fun to sing along.

I’m watching Emily in Paris which is a great escape show and omg has fabulous clothing - to die for.
Also watched all of Dream Home Makeover. I liked seeing Utah and I also like her fashion. I do like her design style but not super original and frustrating that the husband is CEO when she appears to do everything and he does nothing lol.

I tried watching 'Money Heist' with English dubbing, and I lasted all of 20 seconds. I much prefer reading subtitles.

We recently loved:
AWAY - one of my all time faves.
My Octopus Teacher - wow!
Just started a seven episode show called Queen's Gambit. About a child chess prodigy. I'm not a chess player and thought it might be boring. NOPE.

If you're talking about Netflix, then yes it is very easy. It probably depends on how you're watching it. I watch on my Smart TV, and I press the up arrow twice, then get the option of choosing subtitles, and in what language.

My Octopus Teacher is really heartwarming to watch. The scenery is amazing. It’s a movie not a show.
Rooting for Roona is about a baby born with hydrocephalus in India and didn’t have the means to get the surgery right away. Her head basically expands to a huge degree, she looks like an alien. It’s a documentary about how she can get the care she needs. It was sad to learn the about 70% of birth defects worldwide could be fixed or at least help, but the budget for birth defects is quite low.
Tried Emily in Paris but couldn’t get past the first episode.
Going to try and continue Schitts Creek, stopped at Season 2 awhile ago.

Is anybody else watching 'The Undoing' with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant? I'm not sure which channel/format it is being shown on in the US. I don't want to google in case I accidentally see spoilers. Here is it being shown on Foxtel (pay TV) and only the first episode has been screened. I watched it last night and I am HOOKED after one episode.

I was so excited for this but turned it off after 20 minutes, everything looked gorgeous but the acting was just really flat and there was zero chemistry between the leads.
