Prime: Catastrophe (comedy) Goliath - Season 1 - I've heard season 2 is awful but the first season was very well done. Modern Love - each episode stands on its own Hulu: Four Weddings and a Funeral - series based on concept of movie UnReal Fargo I just canceled Netflix since I was caught up and had so much else to watch. Some things I liked - all comedies: Atypical Insatiable Grace and Frankie Based on your likes (all of which I like), I watched Atypical over the past couple weeks. Clearly, I liked it, but Jennifer Jason Leigh is unrecognizable with all the work she has had done and she sounds drunk all the time. I am not familiar enough with her to know if this is her real voice. She and the dad (Michael Rappaport) have zero chemistry. I really like this show, and feel like every person's story in the family is important, but I cringe every time she is on camera. Maybe we're supposed to not like her, but I don't think we should be cringing. I also started Grantchester. I am SO late to the game, but I love it! I started Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. I love Viola Davis and I love Chadwick Boseman, and they are stunning in this movie, but I am struggling through it. DH stopped watching Atypical because he disliked Jennifer Jason Leigh's character so much. I agree that the writing balances all the characters issues. I think there is one more season coming.

We just started watching Season 4 of Call My Agent (10 Pour Cent in the original French) on Netflix tonight. It’s about a talent agency in Paris, and I love it.

Finished The English Game on Netflix. Both dh both thoroughly enjoyed it (and we rarely agree). I’m sure some may find it slow for a period piece coming off of Bridgerton, but we thought it was excellent. 6 episode limited series.

We finished Shitt$ Creek last night ~ it was like saying good-bye to fun friends. <sigh> We were among those who didn't like it at first but, thanks to the Peas who encouraged us to continue, we ended up loving it! I think I like the shows you seem to like. I just gave it another chance and I'm enjoying it. I don't know what I missed last spring when I watched it. I need the laughs right now.

We just finished Ratched. Really good show, very disturbing and creepy, but well worth the time.
I love the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The acting is phenomenal and it's so well written.

I’m not sure if these are all available on Netflix but I’ve enjoyed watching these shows - The Bay (detective) The Pembrokeshire Murders (drama based on real life) The Serpent (drama based on real life) Tracers (drama, historic murder) Marcella (detective, series 3 due this week) Finding Alice (dark comedy)

There is a new show here called " Bump" (screening on Stan for you other Aussies) I hope people in other countries get to see it on some sort of streaming service. It's 10 half hour episodes starring Claudia Karvan From IMDB - An unexpected pregnancy complicates the lives of two families. The series centers around Oly, an ambitious and high-achieving teenage girl who has a surprise baby. It's comedy and family drama and I found it delightful. From an article on ABC news - At the start of the series, we meet Olympia (Oly) Chalmers-Davis, an ambitious, painfully-determined inner-Sydney high school student who has a 10-year plan that begins with blitzing her way through her remaining years of high school and ends with her working at the United Nations. But those plans are thrown into disarray when she unexpectedly goes into labour at school. Link to full article : www.abc.net.au/news/2021-01-24/stan-bump-australia-tv-series-claudia-karvan/13074518

Just watched The White Tiger last night. Interesting cultural references - India. I’m curious to hear whether it’s accurate.
On Apple, enjoying Dickinson, a modern treatment of Emily’s life.

Tracers (drama, historic murder) These have shown up in my "suggested" lists so I'll give them a try. We are really enjoying working our way slowly through Somebody Feel Phil and I'll be sad when we are finally done. If you like food and travel, definitely check it out. I can't recommend Blown Away enough. Watching glassblowers work is mesmerizing and it is the kind of competition show where no one is making alliances or paying attention to what the others are doing, just creating some amazing glass art. I think it was mentioned here a while ago, but we also finally got around to watching Hunt for the Wilderpeople and adored it. Any Wes Anderson fans will love it. Anyone with a heart will love it.

It’s starting to get really cold again so I’ll look some of these up.
The only new show I’ve seen is Bridgerton. Loved it. And Wonder Woman which I hated.

I just binged two seasons of Imposters on Netflix. It was an original Bravo show. It was canceled after the 2nd season, but there is resolution to the story arch. It’s funny and silly, don’t go into it thinking that there aren’t seriously large plot holes. Suspension of belief is definitely required. But the trio (you figure out who they are early) are the heart of this show. And watching their relationship grow was so fun.

I am 2 episodes into Better Things on Hulu and really like it. Plus it’s already 4 seasons old so it’ll keep me busy for a while “`Better Things' is the story of Sam Fox, a single mother and working actor with no filter trying to raise her three daughters -- Max, Frankie, and Duke -- in Los Angeles. She also looks out for her mother, Phil, an English ex-patriate with questionable faculties who lives across the street. Whether she's struggling to keep her daughters close or trying to push one of them out of the nest, Sam approaches every challenge with fierce love, raw honesty, and humour. At the end of the day, Sam's just trying to earn a living, navigate her daughters' changing lives, survive her family, have fun with a friend or two, and also -- just maybe -- squeeze in some private time.“

I enjoyed Bonding on Netflix. Eight 20 minute episodes per season, two seasons. One cool thing about the show is that criticism about the first season from the domme community spurred changes in the second season.

Three movies for us last night.
SYNCHRONIC (‘20 AmazP). I usually don’t like time travel, but this one wasn’t confusing for me. 3 Stars.
BORN A CHAMPION (‘21 AmazP) Jijitsu fighting story; Rocky-like movie. I loved it. 4.5 Stars
THE LITTLE THINGS (‘21 HBOMax) Denzel Washington & Rami Malek; serial killer hunt. I was sooo looking forward to this one and it was a bomb for me. Loose story and very slow & confusing. 2 Stars.

We’re currently watching Fortitude on CBC Gem, about the most northern town in the world, fictional. It’s super gory at times with lots of burying my face in a pillow and sticking my fingers in my ears, but I have a thing for snowy, freezing shows. Especially in winter. It’s a British/Norwegian production. Not a great series, but it’ll do for now.

I finished Longmire today. Always dislike finishing an enjoyable series. I loved that show! After the final season I happened to meet several members of the crew at a ranch in Wyoming. They were so nice. There was some talk of a maybe a movie, but I guess it didn't happen.
