DS will be coming up sometime today to hunker down for a while. He's bringing 5 rolls of toilet paper and a case of water. Needless to say, my 4-day crop for next weekend was cancelled. Broke my heart but it needed to be done. We're having Chicken Noodle Soup for dinner. I posted this on the Funny Memes thread:

Because a little comfort food seems to be in order, I'm make an unhealthy chicken noodle casserole with cream of mushroom soup. It's just 2 of us, so it will be several meals. The store was restocking "cream of" soups so I threw caution to the wind and scooped some up. Heck, I might even add crushed potato chips on top.
Stay well, Peas!

leannec ....(( hugs )) for all that's going on with your dds; it must be so hard! jeremysgirl ....How's your dd doing? Prayers have been sent up--also, sending you (( hugs )). We're having our 'tradishh' Saturday night pizza and salad tonight. Since we're having a frozen Digorno (omg, we think it's the YUMMIEST frozen brand!) Before throwing it in the oven, I add lots provolone cheese, garlic powder, oregano, and basil. After it comes out of the oven, drizzle olive oil around the crust...YUM !!! (It's NOT my idea--- I 'm soo thankful I learned this from a cooking show. The olive oil reallllllly ratches up the flavor/ texture of the crust, especially! ) Thankfully, DH stocked up on the doggie's "Coastal Catch" kibble and they have plenty of their canned food, too. Meaty sends ((( Hugs )))) to everybully !!!!!

Back to work tomorrow so today I cleaned, cleaned and cleaned. Great thing is that it's all done.
I have some boneless chicken thighs defrosting right now. Not sure what I'm going to do with them or if they will even thaw out for dinner. Second choice will be hot dogs with baked beans.

On the topic of COMFORT food, I am going to TRY to stop eating Little Debbies so often! Notice I didn't say I'd COMPLETELY stop---just trying to CUT DOWN !!!! I already look a bit like "Big Deborah"---I do NOT need to gain any Covid-Binging-Weight !!

leannec , have fun at the show house. Do your dd's like he girlfriend? She could be transition woman and a temporary girlfriend, but if she's going to be long term the girls should like her. I want to remind you that your dd's will come back to you. It's normal to gravitate twd the dad for a bit. Then they come back to you. Right now their foundation is rocky and they're navigating their path. You'll all come through this and thrive. scrappintoee , big cuddles to half of my favorite bull doggie duo from their auntie Scrapmaven. Meaty's fur is so shiny and soft. As a lover of Ho-Hos, I will tell you that it's OK to sometime. Why are snack cakes so good? Dh is on his way down to pick up ds2. Ds1 is on the sofa next to me, cuddling w/a pussy cat and surfing. I'm not sure what to make for dinner. I plan to make chicken risotto in the IP, but I'll see how late they will arrive and I'll also see what they eat on the road. They are planning to do this w/o stopping anywhere. Neither one will be keen to drive thru anywhere, so they might just head back w/only a gas stop. Enjoy your day, my lovelies.

Hello lovelies! This morning I used up the rest of the corned beef and made a hash for breakfast (sweet onion, some of my frozen potatoes, corned beef, and eggs). It was de-lic-ious!
Tonight I am going to fix chicken, green beans, try roasting some of my frozen potatoes (didn't last night), and left over pineapple.

We will eat the grilled steak tips and chicken I planned for last night since it’s now thawed out and marinating in the fridge. There will be fries and a salad as well unless someone else plans different sides. leannec hugs as your girls navigate their lives. Both of my kids lived with my ex for a time. It wasn’t the worst thing that happened. jeremysgirl I hope your dd is doing better.

I still have a good relationship with the ex but this is hard ... Thanks for your support

We've had a cold front come through (it'll be gone tomorrow and back in the 80' ) so dinner will be a roasted pork tenderloin, with mac & cheese as a side. May steam some veggies if DH wants any.

I've had a busy morning video chatting through Facebook messenger. I read a friend was lonely on her page. So I posted on mine is be around all day to chat if people wanted and some people have taken me up on the offer. So much so that I had to plug my phone in and recharge.
I've made some cowboy caviar. We will have that with Coney dogs. DH went to the store this morning and got groceries and most stuff was in stock. He was able to get Coney meat and hotdogs.
My DD has been a little quiet this morning but she assured me she's doing ok. If she wasn't she's be blowing up my phone. So I'm good with everything right at this moment.

Hugs to all. I made spinach/cheese/bacon pasta today. DD and I took Leo the Pug for a walk in the forest again. We brought hot cocoa for us and treats for him. I have taught her to knit, and now we’re going to watch a movie together with DS.

Heck, I might even add crushed potato chips on top. Flash back alert to my mom's special occasion bean sprout casserole. Imagine unseasoned ground beef, peas and CANNED bean sprouts covered in cream of mushroom soup and topped with crushed potato chips. We'd get so excited about finishing the bag of chips, which really didn't go far with a family of seven. We are having burgers tonight. Meat based for the kids and Beyond Burgers for DH & I, with raw veggies or maybe a slaw.

I did a quick run to Aldi this morning to for fruits and veggies then I finished up some odd jobs around the house.
Dinner will be a steak & veggie for DH and a salad for me. I was pretty good about eating most of the week, but "ate like an asshole" yesterday. I believe I can credit jeremysgirl for that gem and it so well describes how I ate yesterday.

I meant to mention that our gym is letting us go online to participate in the classes they usually offer at the gym. And they are cancelling all payments until they open again.
The best news is that DH found a big pile of disposable gloves in the garage! Now I won't have to wear my mittens when I go out when it turns warm! It's like winning the lottery!

We are back from packing up ds' dorm and moving him home. It felt so strange to be doing that at this time of year. We were all a little sad. We skippee lunch so when we got home, we ate our leftover pizza from last night. If we get hungry later, there are tons of snacky, appetizery items in the freezer. My focus this week is not to eat like an asshole. 😁

Well no one here wants what I was going to make for dinner. So I have decided it’s fend for yourself. Who cares if they eat junk tonight. I don’t.

I have taught her to knit, and now we’re going to watch a movie together with DS. I was just skimming posts and thought you said you taught your dog to sit using treats. Then I took a closer look and thought you taught your dog to knit. Well that would be quite a trick. Then I read your whole post with my full attention. i'm sorry you don't have a dog who can knit.

Tonight the two of us will be dining on bbq teriyaki beef kebabs, salad (but I need a new dressing), roasted vegetables, and maybe some rice. I need a different kind of rice. I am not sure. I don’t like basmati but jasmine might be ok. Maybe I will cook it in soup instead of water?

Thank you for sharing the "eating like an asshole" phrase because that is what has happened to me this week. We spent a few days at the lake (sat in someone else's house rather than our own) and ate nothing healthy except grapes and apples.
So upon return to the city (and sitting in our house) I went to the grocery store for veggies and fruit and food for breakfast, lunches and dinner (not just the regular dinner stuff I usually buy). Then proceeded to organize/inventory our food supplies. We have an unusual amount of microwave popcorn, canned soup and Jello. So lunch today was popcorn. Dinner will be lasagna I found in the freezer from a dinner not too long ago and a fresh salad with tomatoes and cucumber. Still a little assholian but better than what happened earlier in the week.

So I took out a bag of DDIL and DS’s turkey stock, and I’m going to make turkey noodle soup. Hope it’s good or I’m going to be greatly disappointed. leannec, of course it’s hard to watch your girls (to say nothing of what was until recently your DH) congregating around a new woman. Don’t feel bad about feeling bad. And don’t end up eating like an asshole, either. (BEST new dinner-tribe phrase since rechauffe.) Give yourself time and things will become easier. cadoodlebug, that meme is so great, I had to save it to send to everyone in my family. Please note, everyone, I’m not one of those greedy people grabbing all the toilet paper so no one else gets any. Nope, I’ve been hoarding TP for 30+ years now, and it’s finally paying off. I will be keeping my entire extended family in toilet paper throughout this ordeal. I tried to get a rough count of all my hiding places when this started, and it looks like I have over 100 rolls stashed away.

Yesterday was my niece’s wedding day. With the new restrictions here on sizes of gatherings, we were very lucky that they had everything planned for an outdoor ceremony, then the meal and formalities in a converted wool shed. They were able to set up the tables outside as well and we just went into the shed to get our food - a car very buffet with 3 different meats, baked potatoes and many salads. Dessert was a selection of pies and cakes. Today, I am going to have lunch with my DS and DDiL and Sophia. She gets so excited when I come around, it makes me burst with love.
Stay home and stay healthy! (That’s the slogan being used back home in Bavaria at the moment!)
