We are in PA. Our schools were closed through March 27th, but earlier this week the governor extended it for 2 more weeks. Our school district said we will go back April 15th. They said parents called and asked that they still give us our 4 days off around Easter so families in the district can visit relatives for the holiday. So, not only do we get to go back so soon, but we get to have kids around kids whose families have traveled and had big family dinners! That put me in a bad mood! But they sent the announcement right after Trump said we would be ready to go by Easter. I love how are governor is doing things, so I it wouldn't surprise me if they are eventually closed for the rest of the school year. But I think he is making announcements for 2 weeks at a time so people don't get mad (for not opening schools earlier). I would love them to go back to school, but I want what's best for our country, and if keeping kids home makes it safer, I am all for that. I sure hope people aren’t visiting families at this time. We are not going to be over this in two weeks and everyone knows that. Even Trump mentioned that today well more like hinted at it reluctantly. I am so tired of people that are told to stay at home but think that the rules apply to everyone but them snd are out visiting with friends and having play dates. Shopping daily etc. Our area loves Trump, so I think they will assume all is good because he said so! Not us, we are staying home until the CDC says it's safe to go out. Even going to the grocery store stresses me and is a big ordeal.

They extended it to May just today in Northern Cali, and have already started online classes. Dd says she can already tell which teachers are really into it and which ones are not ☺️

Ours was originally March 30th but they didn’t specify if it would be in classroom or distance learning. On Wednesday our district sent out an email and an automated voicemail that the kids would start distance learning on the 30th. Yesterday our governor issued that all schools are closed until May 4th and students would do distance learning until then and also shut down all other nonessential businesses for the next two weeks. I’m sure a lot will depend on how things go as to whether it is extended again. At that point there will only be four weeks of school left.

Our first day back has been and still is April 27. We have, however, been asked to look at planning for our students as a "we are not going back until September" situation.

I’m betting NYS will do the same. Close for the year.

California pea. We were told school would resume on April 6th but that was revised to April 30th a few days later. I am not sure we will return to school.

As the mom of a special needs kid, who both NEEDS structure and is highly anxious, the changing the closure dates every couple of days made things exponentially worse for us. This is hard for our family, too. We had spring break beginning March 14. First they added two weeks to the end of that, then one more. They are preparing to have us do some level of online learning beginning next week, but they won't be able to use it for grades or anything because of the equity issue. If we follow the current date, that gives us just one week of online learning...why do I think it's all but certain it'll be longer, if not through the end of the year??? I really wish they'd just declare it so we all know officially.

As of right now April 28th is the day our Governor has said we will go back . . . but reading the data, understanding the transmission patterns, etc . . . . My guess is Oregon schools will not go back this year either. We usually run late, until mid-June, but I don't see that our peak will allow school to resume.

No confirmation yet from the actual governor here in Michigan, but the media is saying that we are done for the year.

Not in the US - Bavaria, Germany.
Our schools went out early here. We had a late winter break in the last week of February, and many families went skiing in Italy, so there was a partial ban the week after. One wek later, the state shut all schools until April 19, which is the day before we are due back after the Easter break. A week later, the entire state went on shut down until April 4, which was yesterday extended to at least April 19, then reevaluated in light of how we're doing. My gut feel is that on or around April 19, the shutdown will be extended into May and that will include schools.
