I work at a radiology clinic. We serve urgent care clinics and we have two pediatric clinics close. It’s slow, and we’re taking all the precautions. I’m a basket case. Right now we are working a week on, week off with a skeleton staff. If a drs office sends a patient over they have to be screened first and the doctor has to put a note on the order that they’ve been screened before the patient can come to the clinic.

I am a NICU RN. So far, we are okay, even though our census is extremely high for this time of year. We have had 80+ babies for the last few weeks. Visitation is limited to mom and dad only. NICU is the only unit currently allowing visitors. The staff all wish upper management would shut down visitation completely. There are too many of our parents who don’t seem to take this seriously. They will tell us about getting together with large groups of friends or family to barbecue or party on a regular basis. While PPE is available for now, we are being told we can’t “waste” it to wear a mask while being extremely close to a parent to facilitate skin to skin holding or breastfeeding. It’s just a matter of time until we have a parent test positive and by then they will have infected the nurses who cared for their baby.

Accountant. Doing fine with my N95 and gloves for when I have to go in. I was made for social distancing!

Checking in. I'm fortunate that even though essential/critical/exempted/key/whatever you call it, I get to telework. I do need to go to the office today or tomorrow or Wednesday to grab some files though.

I’ve complained more than once about being considered essential. Last Tuesday I left work with the intention of staying home for two weeks. I decided this morning to return to work tomorrow. I have no idea if I’m doing the right thing but my depression is getting worse being home. I’m breaking the news to my adult children today that they need to stay home. My dd has been our shopping a couple of times this past weekend. I think only one person leaving the house is the best plan right now.

Everyone from my unit is home, including my supervisor. In an office of about 45 people, there are about 7 of us. It's lonely to be honest and because the Courts aren't in session, it's really come down to scraping up work to complete. I wash my hands constantly, stay 6 feet from anyone in the hallways. We have a special cleaning solution that facilities mgmt. gave use and I use it every day on my desk, keyboard, phone, mouse. Then I use it on the things other than my office every day too, like the fridge and microwave.
My anxiety is high. So high that I asked for extra rescue meds from my psychiatrist.
But I'm also worried about my Mom who is just recently done with chemo and had the flu. And my Dad, who is diabetic and also had the flu. My mom almost called an ambulance last night because he was having problems breathing and not able to walk. And my great grandma is 95 and in a memory care unit that is closed to visitors. For once I'm thankful that she doesn't remember anyone. But I worry about it getting into her facility.

My company works as a contractor of sorts to the USPS. We are considered essential. I can do 90% of my work at home, but I don't feel comfortable working from home when everyone else has to go in.

I have to be honest, I was glad I had to go to work today. I am working 3 - 10 hour days with 4 days off. By day four, I was ready to work. I am pretty much locked in my office so not a ton of contact with people except my boss. I am in the medical field for the state so essential. And honestly after years of finding this job I am blessed I am working and don't take it for granted. We are very careful here (everything is sprayed down twice a day, any volunteers, contract, etc. people are not coming in) so I feel relatively safe. I feel a run to the grocery store is worse than coming here.
Mentally I am fine.. I just don't worry too much about it.. I pay attention but worrying is not going to change anything. I have tried to pass this to my DD who is at home doing online schooling. She is doing great with it.. and it helps she is kinda of a homebody. Getting bored is going to be the problem.

I am very seriously considering taking a contract to go work on NYC right now. They are erecting field hospitals and need nurses. It's rough: 15 pts per RN, 14-21 day stretches before you get a day off and 10-12 hour days. But you'll get $10k per week, $76 daily for food, and they're putting you up in a hotel.
Now is the best time in my life to be able to do something like this. I'm kind of bored here right now and this is really tempting. I'm thinking about it.

Dh & I are both considered "essential", real estate & insurance. I've lost lots of income due to client's suddenly not qualifying for their mortgage they were ready to close on, a dental hygenist, top salesman in travel industy & a flooring store manager among others have been laid off. Dh & I are doing everything possible to not meet people face to face but it's hard in our industries. I would have actually preferred to not be on the essential list.

I dont think we are considred essential but our company has moved us home to work. I still get paid and can pay my bills.
Working from home has requird a lot of kinks to be worked out. It us a different mind set as well. As an extreme introvert im ok w it. The constant checkins throughout the day are more work than the work for me lol Give me the things i need to do and i will do them.

Grocery here. I was given a letter three weeks ago by my employer certifying I am "essential". I was told to keep it in my car for traveling to and from the job. My company is based out of North Jersey so I guess they've seen worse than it is in my area right now. DH is "code red" and has been at that job for 3 decades. There have been times where we don't see him for extended periods of time so it's nothing new. But it is still scary. Our governor (Maryland) is clamping down with tighter restrictions starting 8pm tonight. Zee oh hey girl! Good to see you!

Dh is essential as he works in law enforcement. I’ve been a telecommuter since last year so no changes for me. I guess we would be considered essential as I work for a health insurance carrier and we are really busy right now because of the virus.

My company is considered essential (healthcare operations) but I am not patient facing and work remote most of the time anyway....I guess if anything we are busier than normal but I don’t feel relatively essential since so many people I know are working the front line in hospitals....

I have family on Long Island and I am so worried about them, including a 15 yo niece whose birthday is today. I am considered essential, I am a lunch lady and I am working at one of our rural district cafeterias to prepare lunches to distribute to different pick up spots in town. I have also been riding a bus and handing out boxed meals at a pick up location. I am happy to do this, feel like I am contributing to the general good, even if I am in the “old folks” endangered group. We are wearing gloves and masks (though not N95’s) and trying to keep our distance.

I’m an RN and I work in a nursing home. I do Medicare assessments at the moment but I’m ready to step in and do any job needed when the time comes as long as I am given appropriate PPE. I will not care for a rule out or confirmed case with a ducking bandana. Don't worry, your rule-out will at least get you a surgical mask that sits in a paper bag with your name on it all shift when not in use. Lol I actually just kept mine on all night, what the hell does it matter But I can tell you one thing, if I have a rule out coughing all over I'll storm the gates of SPD to get an N95 and a face shield. I'm not playing. I'm not scared, but I'm also not stupid. If we don't protect healthcare workers, there won't be any of us left to protect everyone else.

I just found out today I am considered an essential worker. And here I thought I was doing it for shits and giggles. FTR, I’m an accountant. I’ve spent the last few weeks finishing up an audit and filing more records of employment than I have in my entire career. Really uplifting stuff.

Our business is essential (Ag related), and I’m a corporate officer, so I’m in. But I will be transitioning to home as much as I can so my office mate can stay. Her job would be near impossible from home doing payroll. And she has a lot of busy work with books and lots of papers. I’m more computer based, so I’m the best option.
Tonight I have to make sure my computer will connect to the network and I can run my programs. Hopefully by Thursday I’ll be home. I can go in and get work as needed whenever I want.
Our office is down to about half, and staggering hours for some people in tighter offices/areas

I work in child protective services. We still complete investigations and monthly contacts are required. We’ve prioritized our ongoing cases: in home, foster care, residential.

I started a job about a month ago...at a hospital. I work in the administration office - no contact with patients. I am the assistant to the Chief Nursing Officer and also assist other executives that run the hospital. Wow...is all I can say. They are so organized and so prepared. They are calm and focused but I can see the stress. They have done everything they can....but will it be enough? Meetings all day everyday to prepare as we wait for the surge of patients expected within the next two weeks.
It has been very interesting and certainly not boring. I come home very tired, mostly mentally tired. I feel good to be to able to help. But I think this is going to get really sad as more people are affected and employees start getting sick. Every week things seem more intense.

We have an auto glass company. It's considered essential, but we don't have tons of calls coming in. Closed the office for waiting room, my husband goes mobile and doesn't come in contact with many ppl.
I don't think we're too far away from being done though.

I’m struggling a bit. I’m also an RN and I work on a medical/telemetry unit at our largest area hospital. We have a dedicated unit for rule outs and positive patients but my unit will have one at any given time due to our negative pressure room. I had a rough day...I was assigned to the one rule out patient on airborne precautions and despite numerous efforts (literally an hour and a half of trying), we don’t have a mask that fits my face properly at this time. My face is too small and even our “universal” respirator leaked. I wasn’t able to work with this patient. I’m being hard on myself because I want to be able to help with these patients (and share the workload with my coworkers) but can’t without proper PPE. I’ve spent much of my evening trying to track down a small mask, one I am even willing to pay for, but so far no luck. It’s best I avoid Facebook for a bit as well...I’m emotionally hurting and find myself crying daily over the state of our world. For every positive post, there are 1,000 negatives and it’s too much right now. My heart is aching for our people. I have a little girl at home and a severely at-risk family member living in my house. I’ve contemplated pitching a tent somewhere or looking into a hotel or Airbnb as anxiety washes over me in waves every day for fear I’ll be exposed or expose my loved ones. It’s pretty agonizing.
