I think @scrapnana was speculating as to how that wife might react if he disregarded her concerns of money. I did get the feeling she wouldn't be so keen if he was the one over-spending.
Oh, yeah, well I'd criticize him too for that I must have read the post wrong. Sorry!

If I have to stand on a ladder o get a piece of cardstock then it is too much room for me. Of course it is beautiful, but more than I want or need. Now if it was a store and crop space then I could see myself there pretty often.

I definitely have table envy! Love that table. I can tell she is a card maker, because a 3 foot wide space isn't enough for a scrapbooker (at least not for me). That would give me just about 6 inches left over on the side if I have my double layout out. I also do two doubles at a time most of the time, so it would really be tight. Love how pretty everything looks and you can tell by just her die cut machine and dies they have a lot of $ in that area. But then again, if you have an elevator that takes you to your craft room, you probably aren't budgeting like many people. I'd have crafting parties every month if I had that space.

Before COVID-19, I was teaching free card classes in my home to friends. Yes, it’s fun to get together with friends to craft, but we gathered around a decent sized dining room table, and we fit 8 at the table in a pinch. We managed just fine without anyone having anything close to 3 square feet of space each. I kept the Big Shot, dies, Stamp Platform, stamps, etc. on a long counter nearby.
If I were charging for the classes instead of doing them free and for the fun of it, I would probably need to provide something nicer, but I still think her craft space was way over the top even if she was using it to earn income through MLM.
The only indication of the husband having “his space” was what was mentioned and showed (comfy chairs and a wall TV). Maybe he had something just for him elsewhere in the house, but if he did, I think she would have mentioned it in self-defense of his complaints about her spending.

Holy heck! That is one nice craft/living space that I would never leave!
She mentioned “teaching classes” and then I saw one of the ladies with a small white box that looked like a kit of some sort. I was wondering if it was one of those Stampin’ Up monthly kits, if they even have those anymore. I’ve never gotten one of those kits but maybe I’ve seen a pic of them in one of their catalogs in the past?? Maybe she’s “up there” with SU?
I also would have loved to see her storage solutions for all her supplies. Maybe they’ll do a part 2?

It's a wonderful craft room, with all the bells and whistles and toys. Good for her! But... Not my style at all. It's too perfect. Too pristine. I like a space that's more reflective of me. Not perfect. Smaller rather than larger. Cute and cozy. Organized, but "lived in". I would feel like I couldn't touch anything in that kind of perfect space. It's fancy Champagne and I am casual Daiquiri.

The table was awesome, but hidden storage for me means I forget what I have. Plus, it's just too much stuff. But, if I had unlimited funds, yeah, I'd made do. 😏

It was a nice room but it didn’t really do much for me as far as “craft rooms” go. I would have liked the video to show more of actual crafting stuff and maybe how things were stored. Oh well, to each their own. 🙂 Me too - less talk and more showing!

This is a description of the community What is in you that is not yet in the world? What would you make if you could make anything? Can you imagine a town built specifically for creatives? What is in you that is not yet out in the world? What would you make if you could make anything? Can you imagine a town built specifically for creatives? How much better would your career and personal growth be if you could regularly bump into other artists, writers, and makers? We’re pretty sure healthy creatives are the most creative, and we’re convinced that most professional creatives are wired in similarly unique ways, with an operating system nuanced a little differently than the rest of the population. We’d love to help you learn how you may be wired; how best to cope with and cultivate that uniqueness, and together, figure out how we can all flourish.
What an awesome community. I understand why her room is so big! Plus, I say good for her! She really seems to be enjoying her time.

Beautiful space. Although the husband didn't seem so excited about the amount of money she spent. I got the feeling she was probably an upline in an MLM, anyone tell which one? Or am I off on that? Agreed. While the space is beautiful, it functioned (& the owner promoted it) more like a commercial space with easy access to its second floor location (including for disabled guests), a lobby space (ie chairs, tv), kitchen to prepare food/meals; & 3 sq ft of work surface, electrical outlets, access to machines, etc. at each of the 7 seats. The footage with guests showed them occupying the seats & her standing as though teaching a class, not hanging out with friends.

Gorgeous! I got totally distracted by the truck driving backwards around the 3:18 mark. But her space is completely amazing!

It seems odd that both the interviewer suggested the tour was of her personal space where she crafted with friends & the developer of a creative-oriented neighborhood stated he was surprised this couple wanted an expensive craft area in which to also entertain.

The room is interesting and not quite something I'd design. I do like the seating area with little kitchenette if she's having others over so she doesn't need to have them accessing other areas of the home. She did mention guest rooms around the corner, so I wonder if she hosts retreats of some sort too. Honestly, I'd love to have a keriug in my craft room so I don't need to walk to the kitchen to make a drink while crafting, but I guess I can make the walk to the room over instead. If I had to go down an elevator then it would be a different story.

I have just moved rooms and redone my studio space. There is not even any comparison between mine and hers. Wow! While utterly beautiful, I felt sorry for the husband. I actually felt like he had tears in his eyes in a few places. Maybe it was allergies but not sure how happy that household is. To completely disregard the budget--hmmmm, just sad to me but a beautiful space.

It is beautiful...but I'd probably never feel comfortable in it! It's not beat up enough for me, lol. I need it to be crappier so I can feel like I can touch stuff. Well, well, well.... You'd feel right at home in my space!😂

Here are my thoughts. It's a very beautiful room. I would want to scrap there in a heartbeat. I would enjoy myself. Neither of them seem that stuffy to be uncomfortable. I have a feeling he has his own expensive hobby(ies) or play toys. It is obvious by the video money really isn't an option. I think he was 1/2 joking on the budget, it seemed to be dry humor. If he really was that 'upset' about her budget, first I don't think he would go on that video to begin with or talk about it like that. I do love the thought that went into that room so they both can enjoy it at the same time. When you have a room or space that isn't by everyone else, you do (or I do) sometimes have that guilty feeling that I should be sitting by my kids or husband. It's easy for us as 'normal' people to pick this apart. Most of us would never have that kind of money to spend that freely. So it is easy to say, well I wouldn't want that or this. If I could design a fancy room like that to my heart's desire, sure.. it would probably be way more different that her room but she has a lot of great ideas and I bet if we could have seem more of the organization of the drawers and cabinets there would even be more great ideas. And that desk and granite top is probably more expensive than my WHOLE house and I am not kidding, almost. EDITED to add: Just had another thought.... with all this COVID and staying home.... I think I would enjoy being locked up in that room for quite awhile!!

It was beautifully thought out and put together, but so far removed from my reality that it seemed more like a craft retreat space than a home. While the granite countertops are fabulous, I would worry about damage over time. Probably nothing she is concerned with. The room seemed warm and welcoming to me. I’m sure it was in pristine condition for the video.
They obviously have unlimited funds, and I think the hubby was just teasing a bit (dry humor like someone else said). They seemed good together. I think he probably has a ton of $ wrapped up in whatever hobby he pursues, she mentioned that briefly.
They seemed really nice, I want to be her crafty friend, and I would LOVE to see the rest of their house and I’d love to know the total on the craft room.

I got the impression as well that his complaining wasn’t serious. If I had the money and the space for something like that I would definitely do it.

It must work for them, but seemed like an odd relationship. The video was super hard to watch, I skipped a lot of it because I just wanted to see the space ! It was beautiful, I loved the layout of the table but I wouldn’t like the cardstock either stacked horizontally or so high. I would want it more accessible. Also the tools and stuff being behind the wall would be awkward too. I would want those on the counter right behind me. And what is in all those drawers? I wish they showed more! It is a beautiful room, but not at all functional for me.

It’s beautiful to look at but it would never work for me. Way too big and way too many choices. And there is no way I’d want to climb a ladder to browse through my cardstock.

I think I'm the lone wolf in this one but that is ridiculous IMO. I would never even remember what I had in a room like that. I'll take my quaint space (where everything is reachable from my chair) any day lol! that's pretty much what I was thinking. I would be overwhelmed in that room. I need limited choices, I need to be able to reach all my stuff. The crafting space is visually gorgeous butI wouldn't want it.

I'd have crafting parties every month if I had that space. Me toooooo! I loved it. Loved loved loved it. I loved that it was a retreat of sorts for her DH as well, and the fact that there were guest bedrooms off the space meant that it was multifunctional. I thought I saw a Paper Pumpkin box - I bet she's a SU! demo. But she didn't talk about "business" stuff. If I won the lottery, I would love to have that space! My craft area would have a work space for DH's photography hobby, too.

joblackford thanks for the link to the blog with photos. With normal lighting, the space looked much more inviting and beautiful. It looks like they thought of everything and designed a beautiful space to suit pretty much every need. I thought it was funny that she made a point of talking about infirm people coming to her space but there was a ladder to access cardstock. Haha! I realize that she is probably the only one who climbs up but I think it’s a poor choice for longevity purposes. I like that she made the space so that her husband can hang out with her and that it would also serve as space for overnight guests so they are more comfortable and have some privacy as well.
