I love noontime with Newsom. He’s all about the numbers and accuracy. No stupid commentaries. No stroking his ego. No Cheeto baked fake tan. Easy on the eyes, ears and mind.

i'll never forget watching him give the speech at my son's high school graduation. he was mayor then. his theme was " this is the year of the women".. at that point, the head of every dept in the city was a woman.

Here's what My governor said yesterday. His name is Andrew Cuomo and he's a Democrat. I am a Republican conservative. But I have never admired him more. Yesterday, he asked us (New Yorkers--and everyone really) to stop politicizing this. It is "no time for politics" he said. He said he is a "tangler" and is not afraid to tangle with anyone at any time, but this is the time to stand up and be counted as Americans. He said he will criticize both Trump and the Fed. Government when necessary, but he will also praise them for when they are doing it right--and he said there have been plenty of times he has been able to praise during this crisis. "This is no time for blue, he said."This is no time for red." "What we need in this time is red, blue and white! We need to pull together and stop criticizing like we have never done before. It's the only way we will get through this." I'm proud of him and I agree with him. Right. Now is not the time for politics because Trump's malfeasance is pretty hard to defend. Fortunately, I am not a governor who is stuck between kissing Trump's ring and doing the best thing for the people in my state. I can, and will, continue to express my disdain for the President's ineptitude and his lack of concern for people in the blue states. Cuomo is being a statesman and playing the game he needs to play to get the child in chief to treat New York FAIRLY. The fact that you can't see through this is really baffling, and the fact that you seem nonplussed by it is not a surprise. Imagine Obama withholding vital aid to red states during a disaster. Saying they just weren't grateful enough for his help. I'm sure you'd sit back and talk about respecting the president and not playing politics. We can agree on one thing though: That DEMOCRAT, Cuomo, is doing an incredible job of being the statesman that NY needs. thank you for saying it. This really isn't the time for politics. If we had competent people in the federal government it wouldn't even be an issue. Unfortunately trump screwed us all and most people know it. Trump supporters and other Republican supporters can't defend their shit.

I have not been a fan of Newsome at all but the few times I have heard him speak since this started I have a new respect for him. I may not agree with most of his politics but I believe he has the best interest of the people at least in this crisis. I watched one where he let people ask questions snd he calmly explained the same thing many times. I like the way he explained things and laid out what the state was working on. This was almost a month ago snd I haven’t caught another one but feel he is a much better leader than Trump. He is professional and refused to say anything bad about Trump when baited something that Trump would never have done as he takes every opportunity to put someone down to try and make himself look better. No bragging needed by Newsome. I keep hoping I will catch another briefing by him but at the same time I’m trying to avoid the news but I would like to know the latest in California. I think he is doing a great job in this situation and handling things well. I think several governors are really shining lately. That bolded part is exactly it... Personally I did not vote for either President Bush, and I especially disliked Bush, Junior. But.... remember the question that a reporter asked trump about "what would you say today to Americans who are scared...?" ?? Remember what trump's answer was? It was to attack the reporter for asking a "really awful question". We like to torture ourselves by saying "imagine what President Obama's response to that would have been".... but ANY former president would have had something to say to the American people. President Bush (either) would have acknowledged the awfulness of it, and would have mentioned the fears, and would have shown compassion.

I haven't been a fan of Newsom since he came into office but that has all changed with COVID. He speaks with such calmness and compassion. Plus he isn't too bad to look at
