almost makes me believe it's true! It is true! If you hadn't set aside an hour a day, nothing would have happened. It always looks way worse while in process and makes me feel like I haven't accomplished anything. Clearing a table and a shelf for your sewing things takes time, especially if they get in the way my tables and shelves get (piled higher and unorganized messes). And just think, you'll be able to craft at home and go to your crops too, once we're out of lock down. You'll be creating up a storm.

My hard drive is slowly dying. It's been giving me a blue screen error since January. At first just once in a while. Now a little more frequently. As I'm over here biting my nails, fretting the loss of my great computer. Seriously I've had this desktop for over 10 years. I know I'll get the hard drives replaced when it does go. I have a switch to turn off the computer in the back which none of the computers come with now. I love that feature.
Anywho, I spent the last several days, trying to make sure my photos were all backed up in 2 different spots. An EHD and a portable harddrive - just in case the computer does crash.
Reminder to back up your photos.

LisaDV you asked about my stencil storage and here it is. I just put them in 12x12 or 8.5x11 page protectors. They’re not categorized in any other way because there really aren’t that many. I also have finished organizing my dies. My husband made me a box with double sided magnet shelves and I have to frames filled with magnet on the wall. Now I’m working on paper. It will take a while.

I have managed to scan some photo albums this month but haven't managed to post for credit.
eight albums scanned took about 12 hours (including labelling the scans and uploading to Google Drive)

justjac, I'm envious of your die organization. So awesome. Both the pretty framed pieces and the box. I did the binder for stencils at one point worked for me until I amassed too many. I hope you like it. I love that pipes stencils. Wow, Linda, great job! You rock the photo scanning.

Thanks LisaDV - managed to scan another two today including one with pictures my dad took in his last couple of years - that I had never seen before. He died two weeks after I turned 19 and it was neat seeing the photos he took from his last job (he worked as a desk clerk for an Inn -I've never been there and he didn't start until after I was at college)

one more album scanned - it was rather bittersweet (1987-1990) - covered my graduation from high school and start of college, my parents moving into the house we're currently trying to sell, a Disney trip with my mum and sister (Dad went in the hospital right after we came back - he died two weeks later), our first Christmas without Dad, and our trip back to the UK to see Dad's grave (he was cremated and sent back home to be buried with his grandparents).
Good to see the photos but...sad to see only a couple of dad.
claiming 3 hrs of scanning and labelling.

The great thing about photos is to relive memories, but sometimes they aren't always so happy. Sorry that your current batches have been bittersweet, Linda. Hugs. You still are rocking it though, if that helps.

LisaDV - thank you. I'm glad we have the photos and the memories. one more album scanned - it took at least 4 hours - there were 300+ photos but they were 4x6 in panoramic slots (2 photos to a slot) and incredibly hard to get the inner photos out. another hour for organising 3 albums worth of photos into storage and tossing the albums (they are falling apart)

I started "the great digital storage project of 2020". I am determined to take what seems like 5 gazillion flash drives, SD cards, photo CDs, and hard drives with multiple backup copies and merge them into 1 external backup hard drive and 1 backup flash drive. Will more than likely take the whole summer. I also managed to finally get my scrap room more in order. All the crud that's been piled in there and doesn't belong is now piled in the dining room instead Managed to put another 3" stack of paper in the get rid of box. Here's some before and after pics Before: After:

My before and after pictures are not terribly dramatic, but here's the creative mess I was in all week In front of me: Before and after creative mess by jo.blackford, on Flickr Behind me: Before and after creative mess by jo.blackford, on Flickr and this is the view when I got it all finished up and tidied away on Friday night: Before and after creative mess by jo.blackford, on Flickr The piles of laundry and a sewing project on the chairs in the background are taken care of now, and the giant box of cards on the table will go out on Monday. I'm so relieved to have some clear space! I was able to take care of the sewing project this morning (adding some length to a sheet). And now I can get out a completely different mess to play with BTW that last picture is taken from my kitchen a few steps from the back door and looks through the dining room to the living room and the front door, so you're basically seeing half of my little house. My husband works from the bedroom off to the left, so if I leave a mess it's VERY intrusive and visible!

I managed to clear off a couple of scrap counters yesterday. Took me a couple of hours. But they are already messed up b/c the first thing I did was start putting pages together!
At some point, I will have to retire the rolly tote I had brought in here to store and organize the supplies for my Hawaii album. It holds--besides the travel and Hawaii specific stuff--some summer, and hiking/outdoors and beach/swimming scrappy supplies that I may be able to use with some different pages.
My little boy supply of papers is in a tub on the floor as well, but I will be using those quite a bit in the next scrapping I will be doing.
New things I picked up from the LSS on Friday I have left in their green shopping bag. Think that when I am looking for something I just bought, I will immediately think of that bag...
Most of the rest of my hoard--um, stash--is put away where it belongs.

Great job getting cleaned up and then creating again, grammadee. That's the sole purpose for cleaning up. Glad you have a system to know where things are as well.
