Tonight we're having breakfast for dinner. The boys voted for waffles so waffles and bacon is what we're having. Eggs for those who want them. What are your plans?

Not sure, ds is going to the last home football game against our rival school, so it's just dh and I. Maybe Thai food?

It has been a long, long week with some craziness thrown in. Also supposed to be 91° out. Guess Mother Nature forgot it is actually fall in Southern California.
So it is a breakfast dinner night for sure! Waffles (frozen because I have yet to master a good gf waffle), scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes o'brian. Mmmmm!!!

I'm not sure yet. The boy isn't home tonight, and I am not feeling the cooking love. But at some point I am going to have to give it some thought as I am already starving. LOL I have, what feels like, an empty pantry, so it will likely be a strange assortment.

Pizza night. I know. It is not that healthy, but I will have fruit with it in the form of wine. ? I don't normally care for pizza, however, we have found a Pretzel Crusted Pizza that I do like.

I'm a thin crust pizza girl myself, but just wanted to say I like the idea of counting wine as a fruit serving The meatloaf from last night was so popular I had to put it on the "no snack" list so there is enough for dinner tonight. Don't worry, no one was left hungry but when I make 3 meatloaves it should provide enough for at least 2 meals. I was hoping to freeze at least one, but DS wants it tonight for dinner. I will make mashed potatoes again and saute carrots and broccoli.

Wow, sounds like it's national breakfast for dinner night (one of my favorite meals ever).
While oldest ds has baseball practice I'm grocery shopping with youngest ds (who, absolutely LOVES to grocery shop). I think I might pick up some turkey basil sausages and crusty bread, dh and boys can have sausage sandwiches and I'll have sausages and kale. Although, I have to admit, I'm tempted to join you in making breakfast, but then again, I really don't want to deal with the mess while I'm putting away the shopping.

I have a pan of baked beans with a big ol' pork hock sitting in it in the oven. Don't know what else except to finish off the cheese bread.

Having an Oktoberfest dinner.
Heated up the sauerkraut in the crockpot, browned the 'Schneider's' Oktoberfest sausage, put them on top of the sauerkraut and poured a can of German beer (Holstein) on top.
Simmering away...smells yummy
The apple crisp is baking in the oven.
Have German mustard and rolls ready for those who want them.
Also have red-cabbage with apple as a side (a sweeter dish to compliment the more sour dish).
Add some beer for dinner and white wine for dessert.
The perfect dinner for a beautiful October Friday night.
Edited to add: German potato salad - a warm potato salad that has vinegar in it and fresh dill.

My kinda thinkin'!
Well . . . we are supposed to be having the pasta w/tomato sauce from last nite (I even got up early to fry the chicken, sausage & meatballs so I wouldn't have to miss the Project Runway marathon, lol), but my son is in bed complaining of a stomach ache.
We'll see how he's feeling, but we may be pushing pasta back another nite. Again.

I love doing breakfast for dinner. It is one of my husbands favorite dinners.
Last night we had mac and cheese casserole. I made 2 boxes of mac and cheese. browned 1/2 pound of burger salt and peppered it and then used 3 of the cheese packets. and the butter and milk for 3 boxes. that made it more cheesy and it had more liquid so that when I baked it all together it wouldn't dry out. my husband said he wanted to make it one of our regular meals. it wouldn't be a weekly meal but maybe a monthly meal.
Tonight daughter and I will be on the freeway at dinner time so I am going to stop at KFC and pick up some popcorn chicken and potato wedges and drive. I have been craving KFC for months now so I thought this would be the best road food for our trip.
happy dinner ladies.

Vegan Sloppy Joes-now hold on! I can hear you all going "blah!" from here. But these are really, really good. Took me awhile to get the recipe right. First I dice some onions and put those in a pan with just a tiny bit of olive oil until they are translucent. Then I add the "beef". It's actually a product called "Beyond Meat-Beef Free Crumble" that looks just like crumbles of hamburger-Google it, it's very healthy and tastes actually really good. I was shocked how good it tastes. I add a little water and let that warm up. Then I add half a can of tomato sauce, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste and pour in some of Trader Joe's "Bold and Smoky Kansas City BBQ sauce". Stir it all up and let it simmer and it's ready. I serve it on 365 (Whole Foods own brand) Whole Wheat burger buns. I like mine with a few slices of sweet onion and a few slices of dill pickle. Yummy!
I'm making potato salad to go with it using those small potatoes that I'll steam first, then I'll toss with white wine vinegar, a little olive oil, salt and freshly ground pepper and freshly chopped dill.

Well if you don't get banned for that, I likely will for posting from the "library". We are in Nashville for the weekend and I think we are going to Monells for dinner. Yum!
