Hello Peas! Today I have two sketches. Both of these were a lot of fun to work with, both leading off with the same diagonal line. The first is an example from last month. It was more difficult than I expected, as each of the circles BEGGED me for embellishment! But I loved that there was room for 3 photos and journaling on a very "different" layout. The source data tells me this is originally from October Afternoon's blog!!! sketch OA diagonal by kirstendrew, on Flickr layout one dollar smile by kirstendrew, on Flickr The second sketch is similar - and my example is currently 1/2 done so come back later to see it please - but with 3 square photos. I loved that I wouldn't have to find photos that could be trimmed to circles! diagonal square sketch by kirstendrew, on Flickr Here is my example layout nutella and chill by kirstendrew, on Flickr I hope you'll give one of these a try. Because of that diagonal, they stand out among my pages in a good way!

Love both sketches, kitbop. Going to print them off for use when I am scrapping again. Wondering if I can turn that first one into an April calendar page by going with ovals or eggs instead of the circles, but my mind always thinks I can do things that the rest of me can't figure out how to do...

Edited to add my example for today. It was a great sketch to start with; I think you could play with photo sizes or numbers (use a pp box or journaling box to replace one), add extra strips of paper to the diagonal...easy peasy!

Here is my LO for the second sketch. I used the 'Your Day' kit by NBK Designs.

Here is my take on the first sketch. This was a lot of fun! I used papers and elements from several Joyce Paul kits, and styles by NBK Designs.

Here is mine. My April calendar page. I STARTED with the sketch, but not much of it is in evidence here... Grabbed some inspiration from AussieMeg's watercolour look corners and kitbop's doilies. April 21 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

grammadee , is that your Number One Grandson?? Beautiful calendar page, as always. Yup. He is Number One, and makes sure all the siblings and cousins know it LOL! He was here for a week over Easter with his gf, and I insisted he get up in time to colour eggs with us (SOOO early: 11:AM). He complained, but had fun.

Loving this challenge! I did the second one with some of my long-hoarded Sassafras Lass papers! I could not find a strip long enough to put diagonally, so I just set it horizontal. Please welcome my newest granddaughter, Maggie!
