I always put the milk in first, then I microwave it for 20 seconds. My Greek MIL heated the milk for her kids and really is horrified at the idea cold cereal is meant to be eaten with cold milk. What kind of mother would give their children a cold breakfast? She was always offering to heat the milk for the grandkids. I'm firmly on the cereal then milk side of this discussion. J u l e e, next are you going to tell us your DD spreads the jam/jelly first, then the peanut butter?

It only takes the iciness off of it. It's still quite cold. I just don't like biting down on my cereal with that icy cold.

Add ice cubes to milk to keep it cold.

Cereal then milk. DH - fruit, cereal then milk. I’m usually a to each their own, but milk first is a bit wacky.

Hmmmm there was no option for me. Cereal in bowl and NO milk...ever. And no I don’t add water either. Cereal is best enjoyed dry. The thought of cereal pieces floating around in a liquid is gag worthy. 🤪 Come on I can’t be the only one. 😂 I hardly ever eat cereal, but it was always dry. I distinctly remember eating breakfast as a kid and spitting out my milk, telling my mom it was sour. As she had just purchased it that day, she didn't think that could be the case. She had me switch my milk with one of my brothers, as he had been drinking his milk with no complaints. I still thought it was sour, while he said it was fine. I don't drink straight milk ever - I didn't even like chocolate milk as a kid!

I haven’t had cereal in years *sobs*. But when I did the cereal went first, it’s easier to judge how much you’re actually eating that way. And then put in a small amount of milk. But regardless of the order you pour it in, the cereal must be eaten immediately before it begins to get soggy. Soggy cereal is the worst, I often couldn’t even finish the bowl before I had to throw it out.
