Scrappy update time!
I have completed 3 layouts with photos from 2002, and this feels like a great accomplishment. Gonna keep working on old photos I think. I am missing so many photos of when my boys were babies because they were film, and I sent the prints to relatives, leaving me with only negatives. I don't know where to take negatives these days to get them printed! I have a scanner, but those negative scanners never worked well for me.
I am keen to have a scrappy weekend for NSD! Is anyone else going to try to pop in and crop here? There will be challenges and chatter and google hang-outs and I do hope people jump in and out.
Does anyone have suggestions of things that would encourage them to come and play this weekend?
How is your scrappy life? Or covid life? Is your part of the world starting to "open up"? (maybe we shouldn't discuss that...working in health care, I can only see opening up as a negative right now...)

good job kitbop - I think some Walgreens and CVS photo labs can still print from negatives (I believe they scan the negatives and then print) I'll try and pop in for NSD - for once it doesn't fall over my daughter's birthday -but my mojo is hiding... sorry - not a big points earner this month. Scrappy life - non-existant Covid life - to quote DD13 "I'm tired of the people-part of quarantine" My part of the world (rural Florida) never did manage to do much closing down (sigh - so many Covidiots here) but we're staying home and staying safe - and have been since early March. DH is still working at the office (one of only a few not working from home - wearing a mask at work) and I go grocery shopping once a week but otherwise, no one is leaving our property.

angel97701 - I *hate* paperwork, it adds so much stress that even if it's for positive experiences it's difficult. I'm so glad you are still able to help DS20 and that he is accepting of your help. I'm glad you have a possible intervention lined up for DS14 and hope it is what he needs. Have to chuckle at the name...it sounds like a lovely summer camp Does he like nature/outdoors, will that be a positive addition for him? My DS 20 would see outdoors/survival/wilderness as a wonderful thing, he asks for books on the topic for Christmas; my DS 18 would curl up in a creek and refuse to move if we sent him out there. When we hike, he's with me and the dog on the driest smoothest path he can find! Yes Kitbop, DS14 does like the outdoors and enjoyed his camping overnight and week-long camps he did while in Boy Scouts. But there is a specific intervention and goal in mind for his therapy, that he overcome his depression due to abandonment by his birth parents. This is the underlying cause of many of his behaviors, but we need to really work on the lying, and the addictive behaviors that he has developed towards what-ever he can get his hands on . . . everything is locked up so there is no temptation right now. We have very mixed emotions, he will be gone 8-10 weeks. Prayers appreciated. The initial trauma and anger will be expected. He thinks he doesn't need therapy, but apparently they are accustomed to those attitudes.
Not sure if the placement for DS20 is going to go through, didn't get the calls I was supposed to get this evening. The director apologized as he "thought" he had called me two days ago . . . , but he hadn't and now wants records from 3 years ago due to his diagnosis. If I'd had the extra two days I could have a lot more peace of mind right now.
Amazingly I did have energy to work on a layout that will be published next month, so I can't share it yet.

Oh good, I'm glad I'm not the only one working on old photos! I've done a few LOs this month with photos from the early 2000s. As for what to do with negatives..... there is a company near my work called Film Never Die, and they offer self-service negative scanning. You sign up for a one month membership, I think it's about $60 AUD. You can go in any time during that month, as often as you like (you have to book a time slot), and scan your negatives. They teach you how to use the machines. I was planning to do it, but then COVID happened so now I have to wait until we go back to work. I wonder if there is a similar company near you?

Thanks ladies for your prayers and support! DH and I were sharing similar emotions about sending DS14 away yesterday, but we are realizing that we really can't help him, he needs the re-set of intensive therapy.
DS20 went silent today after we were upset that he had gone camping and drinking with a friend who is also on the road of addiction. BUT on the good side, I talked with the psychologist today and they have a better understanding of DS20's issues and diagnosis. Then the Director of the out-patient program called me and reassured me that they would have both treatment and housing for John when he is ready. He did state that the window of opportunity where an addict requests help to overcome their addiction is often short, and we may have missed it this time. But when he is ready to try again we only need a medical exam before he is admitted. Today's conversations with both professionals were much more calming and helpful. Now please pray with me that DS20 asks for help again!
Sorry that my posts have been more about the anxiety and journey to treatment for my boys, but I do appreciate your support and consideration.

I'm sorry I am really letting our team down this month. I have only completed a couple of layouts and probably won't get any more done until weekend. angel97701, I am sorry for all you have been through this month. Prayers that your DS will request help. You have done so much to get things going for him. Hugs to all of you!

nylene - you're not letting anyone down. Teams are about having fun and encouraging each other. We're all here to encourage you to keep feeling better! ((((hugs))) and love Emotionally exhausted and physically fatigued. DS20 did enter the treatment program on Saturday, I drove out to pick him up and take him for a physical. Thankfully he passed including being negative for Covid. Yesterday, DH and I dropped DS14 off at the base office for New Visions Wilderness Therapy. We did not tell him where he was going until we actually arrived at the office. He too passed his physical. We have had word that so far he has settled in and is talking with field personnel, but being shy around the rest of the boys in his group. They did not have any concerns and entered on the lowest risk protocol. He loves the outdoors and camping, so this disconnect and reset should hopefully be really therapeutic. Oh and if that wasn't enough? One of our water heater sprung a leak and needed to be replace STAT! Fortunately we were able to get a plumber out today. It's probably been a slow leak for several days (5), but with everything going on we really weren't paying attention.
Yes Linda, we are here to support one another in our crafting and in the struggles of our lives. I appreciate all of your cyber hugs and prayers. Please continue!

Checking in for the end of the month. I had a fairly productive month! I completed about half of the card class I took, which for me is quite the record. I am very good at signing up for classes and then not doing them. I also did a class with Stacy Julian (I know mixed emotions for her with the pea's) to make one of her story books. Strangest process I have ever done, but I got the album (22 6x8 pages) finished in about ten hours total including printing photos and finding supplies. I am going to try to get it photographed today. angel97701 - It sounds like you are making progress with your kids one small step at a time. Hope that continues! AussieMeg and kitbop - I have been going through photos recently and found some older one I would like to scrap, but I have a hard time getting that started and jumping into them. But you guys inspire me! I need to pull them back out and just do it. I am looking forward to NSD. I am hoping to spend quite a while scrapping this weekend!

My total for April is a whole 77 points.
That won't help the team much, but it's the best I could do. I have great hopes for May.

nylene, thanks for posting! I haven't added up any of my layouts this month. Guess I'd better get on that... Does anyone else have point totals? Please PM me or post in this thread. I will look through the team list (where we "claim a spot" every month, and then I completely ignore it) but it's a lot easier to hear directly. even if 0, at least I feel like I haven't lost anybody in the snowstorm!

Only because I did the easy Peasy method for a bunch of pre-made school pages 605 for me, all at the beginning of the month. You already know the rest of the story.
Talked with DS20 today, reminded him of several things including how his relationship with God can affect his life. We believe that God is the author of forgiveness, and healing from addictions is one of self-forgiveness. Unbelievably someone at the residence gave him a Bible! He says hes been reading it? I can only pray this is true. We are a faith based family and he does know the basics . . . but in rebellion "did" church, but wasn't really there kind of thing.
Our first conversation with DS14 clinician is tomorrow at 11 am. She has spent time in the field with him. We get to write our first letter to be sent to him next week over the weekend. We miss him, but there is a sense of relief that both boys are in places where they are safe and learning consequences for their behaviors. Thanks for your encouragement ladies!

I just toted up my points - mostly from the organising challenge this month - I've scanned 23 photo albums (taking the photos out, scanning, labelling the scans, and putting the photos into photo cases) 1478 for me nylene - every point counts -last month was a tie I'm remembering correctly angel97701 - ((((hugs))) and prayers. I hope the placements are exactly what your boys need to heal and move forward.
