I think I saw a post awhile back about a virtual crop, but I wasn't able to participate. Are there any coming up? Anyone want to do one next weekend? Can anyone share how they work?

I haven't seen another announced - usually sleepingbooty runs them but I think anyone can. Typically there is a theme with daily prompts -no requirement to follow any of them. There's usually a thread where we chat and post our creations. Sometimes grammadee sets up a google hangouts for part of it. But I think in the past sometimes it's as simple as hey, let's all scrap virtually together now. Next weekend sounds good to me.

Next weekend sounds great to me. I can host Saturday noon EST, and maybe someone on the west coast can pick it up later in the day?
It's easy. You just sign onto Google, open the link for Hangouts, and copy the link to the board here.

Not sure if I can join you but Friday and Sunday will be the busiest days for me on Easter weekend, so I may get to play with paper a bit on Saturday.

I was all excited that I might be able to participate then someone had to remind me that it’s Easter weekend. Oh, well. I might try to pop in briefly. Starting a new art journal today.

iamkristinl16, if you change the title of the post to include the date and time, more Peas might take notice. Looking forward to seeing you all

This will be my first Easter weekend without any kids at home or able to come home for Easter. Thinking we'll cram all of our celebrations into a weekend or trip when this is over. I'd love to take all six of us to Vegas for the weekend. We'll see how everything works out. All four of the kids (sons and SOs) are considered essential right now.

I would love to participate in a virtual crop this weekend. I spent most of my weekend this past weekend scrapbooking. So I'm in.

I'm sorry you'll be without your kids, but a trip together sounds fun. Thank your kids for their service during this crisis.

I definitely want to join a virtual crop this weekend. This is my spring break, so this week is all about straightening the house up, playing Pokemon Go, and scrapbooking. Not exactly the fun week I had planned, but it will do.

cindyupnorth tagging you! When I go to crops, the host does a few things that I think are fun. Was wondering if anyone was interested in a "crop bingo" or having a scraplifting challenge? She usually has a LO to start from that is somewhat unique in the way the papers are designed, colors used, etc. I would be open to creating the Bingo cards and coming up with a LO if people are interested. Others could share LO's for inspiration as well. Sometimes they help me try something new or use things that I have had for a long time.

This will be our first Easter weekend that we'll be home for both Saturday and Sunday. The weather's also supposed to be bad so I'm up for an online crop!

Are you planning to do a Zoom or Google Hangout sort of thing? I don't know how to open a Zoom, but I can open a Google Hangout and Peas can come and go as they like all day. Saturday, noon EST, and then maybe someone on the west coast can volunteer to open one later on for the evening crowd

I'm just learning ZOOM but I'm no expert. Maybe if you start one we can get grammadee to pick up for later. See you Saturday!

I subscribed to Zoom and could open a room. justjac explained to me that if you don’t have a paid subscription (only one person needs to have it) they limit the length of a meeting to 40 minutes. They also limit the number of participants. I’ve used Zoom to scrapbook with some of my friends and like it better than Hangouts.

I was doing zoom with my friends and we had trouble with the image freezing all of the time and at one point it dropped me all together. Has anyone had trouble with thi? Maybe it is because everyone is using it.
I do like Google Hangouts, but whatever will work.

I'll try and join in the crop - my mojo has been awol lately though. I'm going to pass on Google Hangouts/zoom - I don't have a microphone or a webcam so they're not nearly as much fun

I do have a paid subscription to zoom if we need it. Hangouts maximum is 25 for video chat, whereas Zoom can handle 100. And we've had a lot of response to this thread. Are you volunteering to host on Zoom? That would be awesome! I could still be backup if needed.

I do have a paid subscription to zoom if we need it. I probably should have asked earlier, but does having a paid subscription mean that any meeting you host can exceed the 40 minute limit that the free meetings max out at? Can the link stay open all day? And will those of us who are using the free service be able to stay past the initial 40 minutes?
