Of course the reports are going to downplay this for as long as possible, like the "tests" thing yesterday - no-one with any medical knowledge believed that was the only reason, no official statement will be "OMG, he's really sick and might die"...but the reality is he is now in that 5% group that get seriously sick from this. Agreed. My son has just finished a shift in ICU and said Boris is clearly much sicker than they are letting on. I really feel for Carrie. 😔

You can all relax, crisis over, Trump is on it, he's working with genius companies, London and Boris' doctors and advanced therapeutically and are ready to go with what they are talking about

Given the current critical decisions being made about who gets into the ICU and/or a ventilator I do believe he is in a much more serious condition than is being announced.

As I said on another thread, what does he think we are some third world country that needs medical help for god's sake. "They've met the Doctors treating Boris" - like hell they have, they have better things to do in treating patients under their care.

I suppose when (hopefully) Boris recovers he'll claim it was due to his help Of course it's all bullshit, no company will be talking to Boris' doctors because that orange freak told them to - I was just equal parts horrified and fascinated at how he's just rambling nonsense all the way through this. And people still support him? It defies all logic.

He's setting it up so he can claim credit,
Boris gets well again, it's because I got the experts in
Boris doesn't make it, well I tried but his doctors didn't listen to the experts I arranged. (Patient/doctor confidentiality be damned)
Either way I'm a stable genius and those who hang on my every word will be impressed.

Copied and pasted from a live feed from the Guardian a few minutes ago
Boris Johnson 'stable' in hospital and does not have pneumonia, Downing Street confirms
The Downing Street lobby briefing has just finished. It took place by conference call, as is normal now.
Here are the top lines.
Boris Johnson does not have pneumonia, Downing Street has said. Until now ministers and No 10 have refused to give a clear answer to this question. But asked if the PM has been diagnosed with pneumonia, the spokesman said: “That is not the case, no.”
The spokesman said that Johnson was “stable” overnight and “remains in good spirits”. In a statement about his condition in intensive care, the prime minister’s spokesman said:
The prime minister has been stable overnight and remains in good spirits. He is receiving standard oxygen treatment and breathing without any other assistance. He has not required mechanical ventilation or non-invasive respiratory support.
Downing Street has signalled that it does not want to take up Donald Trump’s offer of experimental coronavirus drugs for Boris Johnson. Asked about this, the spokesman said:
We are confident that the prime minister is receiving the best possible care from the health service. Any treatment he receives is a matter for his doctors.

Latest reports are that he's stable and receiving oxygen but not on a ventilator. Fingers crossed.

British diplomacy at it's very best Don't be embarrassed we all know who the idiot is I was listening to the radio this morning and there was a discussion on there that gave me food for thought about the elections in November. Is there anything laid out in your constitution that says the election MUST take place then? Like has to take place in exactly four years kinda thing? My mind started asking the question - Oh god, what if he postponed them if all wasn't back to normal then ( hopefully it will be ) or more to the point that he would use the excuse that the campaigns had not had enough time . Does he have the power to do that so that he would have longer in power?

From what I gather, it is constitutional law that his and other elected officials' terms due to expire do expire in January and there would be a rule of succession if the election is postponed. I know Biden and others are obviously wanting to press forward, with talks of alternative methods of voting if the need arises. Here's an article I found: The Intelligencer

Boris is out of ICU as of this evening. That’s good news! I wonder how long before he’ll be able to return to work. Some folks are a bit jittery with the feeling of being aboard a rudderless ship.

Particularly the journalists pressing Raab. Smh. I’m pleased Boris seems to be improving. I hope he doesn’t come back before he’s ready. The recoverees we have seen in interviews seem to be in various stages of recovery. Some are sounding quite breathless still and others seem really chirpy. I know reports say Boris didn’t have pneumonia but when I had it a few years ago, it took me 3 months to feel remotely human. I hope he’s better than that.

Yes, lets hope he's not that bad. I watch the daily briefings but I turn it off when the journalists questions start...pushing for answers that can't be given, asking for timelines that are impossible to know etc etc

Good news that he's out - although 4 days in ICU, I'm not buying into the 'official' version of his illness, I think they've downplayed it significantly.
He doesn't seem like the personality type that will listen to doctors advice so no doubt he'll come back before he should..probably a week or two will be all they'll be able to hold him back for.

I'm glad he's on the mend and really hope that he won't go back to work before he's ready though.
Like the other UK peas, I feel like throwing something at the television when the journalist endlessly ask the same damn question time and time again. Are they not listening to the previous question and the answer, no probably not, they're just after a gotcha moment. Not one of the three persons standing in front of those cameras, whoever it might be at the time, are psychic.
They are handling them well though and I would love to be a fly on the wall when the three of them walk round that corner when they've finished the update and listen to what they have to say!

Yeah, they’re just poke poke poke...and definitely whoever is answering the questions do very well to answer calmly and without rolling their eyes.

They should stop being so polite to them and after the initial answer stop asking " Do you want to come back on that?" One question, one answer end of!!

I suppose the journalists have their questions all ready, they don't know what anyone else is going to ask, and they all think of the same thing to ask. I wish they would get together and co-ordinate their questions before the briefings. It's just a waste of everybody's time, energy and patience.
