Hey everyone! I'm working from home today ... an interesting experience ... I'm doing a Professional Development online class on Monday that will help me with the online platform that we are using to teach ... I'm an old school style teacher so all of this technology is challenging but I have a couple of young grade 7 team members (that's what I teach) who are soooooo helpful ... I can do this! Best of luck today to our scrapmaven as she has another appointment I posted this on Facebook today ... I think having kids at home is a challenge for everyone I'm going to bake some battered fish tonight and pair that with some fries ... and tartar sauce What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Do you need hugs?

I am making stuffed peppers for dinner tonight - probably should get started with them soon.
Today has been a totally slack day for me - I didn’t even go for my normal walk. Currently, I am binge watching Bones, which I discovered on Amazon Prime, which I had forgotten we have access to. Extra long weekend coming up here - both tomorrow and Monday are public holidays, though that really only means that DH doesn’t have online meetings and we can’t go shopping on those days.

It’s bright and sunny here. I need to be worrying about breakfast at this point.
I am going to make some more hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes.
I also am making my deck succulent pot I think. A friend is showing me over FaceTime what she wants me to do.
Do you have spring in Calgary yet? Any cherry trees?

We are having Creamy Mushroom Ravioli and salad. I've made this before and it's easy and so good. If I had spinach, I'd add that in. I'll use either spinach and ricotta ravioli or mushroom ravioli. Dinner will be early because I have a 7- pickup at Kroger. I'm sure most of the things will be out of stock since I placed the order Sunday and this was my predetermined pickup. I'll take what I can get gladly. Beautiful day today but heavy pollen. The weeds are loving it! Have a great day to all the Peas and your loved ones.

SCORE! I decided to go to Costco during senior hours but waited until 8:40. Walked right in and scored toilet paper AND paper towels! They have 3 temporary check stands set up by tire department if your items are able to be scanned from the cart. They even mark your receipt so you don't have to have it looked at by the person at the door. Go Costco!!

Piri piri chicken, rice, and broccoli. I've decided to do the chicken in the oven rather than on the big green egg because I'm getting tired of smelling like a campfire.

Well, we had burgers last night; BF had a hamburger, and I had a chicken apple sausage burger. We made the sausage earlier this spring, and froze in pattys. It was good, but super low fat. Need just a bit more fat in there for a proper sausage.
Tonight, I announced my hunger for Buffalo Wild Wings, so we'll pick up wings and fries and have it with a beer. Pretend we're going out!

Good Morning fellow dinner thread friends! I've been MIA for a few days, sewing masks and trying to find a new routine. I feel like it's the weekend and not checking in online daily, I have 600 e-mails to clean out, I view them on my phone and address urgent things, but need to have a clean out session. I've make close to 150 masks. I went to Joann's today to pick up an online order. There was a line of at least 50 people to get in the store, one lady about halfway thru the line said she'd been there for over an hour. I called for curbside pickup and was on my way in less than 15 minutes. Jeepers! I do need some boy fabric for masks, but I'll pick something online and do curbside pickup again. Dinner tonite is going to be chicken, but I don't what with it yet, maybe rice and of course a veg or salad. f scrapmaven sending good vibes for your apt today. wishing everyone a good day!

Chicken tikka on the menu today (it’s in the oven as we speak). Late dinner today, since We’ve been busy painting DS’s apartment. I’m tired, my arm and neck hurts, and I just want some peace and quiet and chocolate.

Tonight is going to be meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, and cheesy cauliflower. Comfort food for dh. It’s his birthday week so I am doing some of his favorite meals all week. It’s a gorgeous day here today- all sunny and should be 69. Perfect to me! Will get out for a long walk this evening after work and dinner and play social distancing frogger on the sidewalks with everyone!

My plans for today include finishing up a little more work and then making dinner. We have been going on a long walk every day in the afternoon/evening but the weather sucks and I have a sinus headache so that may not happen.
Dinner tonight is tossed salad, sloppy joe's (from scratch) and deviled egg macaroni salad. I feel like we need potato chips with this meal, but we don't have any.

If I read scrapmaven’s post last night correctly, she is actually in the hospital and hoping to get sprung today after another test. Wishing her 100% well. I am finally headed to The Habit this afternoon and picking up a big burger. Also dropping off a meal on my friend’s doorstep, because she’s not even allowed out of the house and she loves The Habit. She’s been making masks like crazy. I’m also making some pans of chicken spaghetti today. My sister’s birthday was last week and we couldn’t have a party, but she has asked for this. I guess I’ll have mine tomorrow, because nothing is getting between me and my Habit burger today.

Thinking of you scrapmaven and hope you are back home soon. JoP - Hugs to you. I'm thinking of you as well. lucyg - Enjoy that Habit burger! Waiting on the next front to come through. Thunderstorms supposed to start around 4 pm and go through the evening. Finished up the masks for my sisters and have them out for the mailman to pick up (one of the benefits of an old neighborhood, door delivery & pick up of mail!). Gave DD a new one that she prefers to her first one. Need to make a few more for the two of us. She picked some cute fabrics from the stash this morning when she dropped off the kittens! They didn't make it yesterday, but I have them all day! Dinner tonight will be broiled Rainbow trout, a tossed salad and maybe some couscous (one of those East West packets). Thinking about making a one layer chocolate cake as a remedy to my boredom. If anyone is interested, this is the recipe: EVERYDAY COCOA CAKE Ingredients 2 Cups All-purpose flour 3/4 Cup Unsweetened cocoa powder 1 1/4 teaspoons Baking soda 3/4 teaspoons Salt 1 1/2 Sticks - (3/4 Cup) Unsalted butter, softened 1 3/4 Cups Packed light brown sugar 2 Large Eggs 1 teaspoon Vanilla 1 1/3 Cups Water Confectioners sugar for dusting Preparation Details Pan Size: 10-by 2-inch round cake pan Preparation Time: 20 Cooking Time: 1 hour at most + 1 hour cooling time Preheat Oven Temperature: 350 F Serves how many? 8-10 Recipe Instructions • Preheat oven to 350-degrees Farenheit. • Butter the cake pan and dust with flour, knocking out excess. • Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. • Beat together butter and brown sugar with an electric mixer until pale and fluffy. • Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then beat in vanilla. • Add flour mixture and water alternately in batches, beginning and ending with flour and mixing just until combined. • Pour batter into cake pan and bake in middle of oven until springy to the touch and a tester inserted in center comes out clean, 55 minutes to 1 hour. • Cool in pan 1 hour. • Invert onto a rack, then turn right side up and dust with confectioners sugar.

I loved the show for a long time and then just started not having time or caring if I watched (could have been something else was on) It is kind of cool to watch some for the first time We are having sloppy joes for dinner. Since im not caring about gluten sitting here at home. I'll make it the way I used to.

Yesterday we celebrated Passover with the family through zoom. It was very nice to see the family, even if it was on a computer. I miss the family and as crazy as it sounds...I miss hugs from family and friends. Can't wait for all this craziness to be over !
Today I am using the whole chicken that I had bought for Passover for dinner. I am trying out a recipe that I have had pinned for awhile...Ina Garten Engagement Roast Chicken. Will be serving mashed potatoes and broccoli with it.
