I only made 2 so far and dd is taking both to work with her today (so she can change them mid-shift if the first one gets damp). I have to do some shopping so I'll just stay away from people but I'm thinking I might make extra masks so I can wear one if I go shopping. And I'll see if DS wants some although in his job, he can stay farther away from people. And I'm about 95% sure he wouldn't wear one anyway.
ETA: just to clarify, I mean when you'll be around people, like while shopping.

I do not, but grocery stores are about to require them on everyone, so I suppose I'll have to conform

I haven't been out in public for 10 days. During this time, our governor is now saying we should be wearing them out in public, so the next time I have to go out, I'll def. be wearing one.

I have an N95 I wear when I go out. An employee tested positive and was last in the office on 3/23, when I was in. Effin attorneys can't stand being home and insist on coming in even those they are not essential.

I have not to this point because it wasn’t recommended the last time I went to the store (the most recent trip I did curbside pick up) and I didn’t have any. I ordered some homemade from a pea selling on Etsy and they will arrive soon and I will wear those on future trips.

I just got one on Tuesday. I did not wear it today as I was only out for 10 min, and stopped somewhere I wasn’t planning to stop. Walgreens has distancing labels into the growing/floor, but looked to be only about 3’ apart and the employees were not wearing any protective gear. I wish I had.

I made one for me. It's awesome Nightmare Before Christmas with purple ties. DH went to the store and didn't take it. He said NO ONE was wearing them!

Walking around my neighbourhood - no. Dropping food at my mom’s with my car - no. If I had to go in to a grocery store / hardware store / pharmacy / other essential need around others - yes.
Dh brought surgical masks home for all of us 3 weeks ago. Our girls haven’t gone anywhere where they have needed a mask. But if there was an emergency and we had to take them somewhere we wanted them here. Some green groceries in the neighbourhood will only let you in if you’re wearing a mask. Dh will now only go to those corner green groceries if he needs something he couldn’t find at a grocery store. Grocery store we’re doing pick up. He goes into a grocery store or Costco once every 10-15 days and he has been wearing a mask for 3 weeks.
Dh says that the removal of the mask is the most important element to wearing a mask. He wears N95 at work but those need a proper fitting / testing to get the right fit for an airtight hold. Dh can’t wear just any N95 mask. He gets fit once a year and he knows which one fits him. If you wear the wrong one it doesn’t work / works the same as a regular surgical mask.

If I’m walking around the neighborhood (and it’s new construction with fewer than 20 occupied houses) I don’t wear one. If I’m going to the store I will wear one.

I put “every time” because that is my intention. The exception is in my own yard when I go get my mail and to take my trash cans in/out from the curb on pick up day. I don’t usually see anyone during those times, and if I did, they would be in their own yards well away from me. I do wear gloves, but I have always worn gloves to move the trash cans because there can be spiders on the handles. Eeeeekkkk.🕷
I am venturing out today for the first time in a month and I admit, I’m nervous. I need to get my meds from the pharmacy.

I made a makeshift one out of a bandanna when I went to the store a couple of days ago, otherwise no. And I don't imagine going out again for a couple of weeks.

I haven’t yet, but As of 8pm Friday, NJ is making it mandatory to wear masks in stores. 😮 How did I miss that This is what I get for running away from the news. Me too! I check the governor’s FB page once in awhile. I think I saw it rumored and went to check. This was posted yesterday afternoon. BREAKING: I’m signing an Executive Order to further our aggressive efforts to enforce social distancing. All non-essential construction across New Jersey will CEASE, indefinitely, effective 8:00 PM Friday. Exceptions include projects at our hospitals and schools, in our transportation and public utility sector, the building of affordable housing, other individual housing sites that can adhere to strict limits on the number of workers on-site, and other limited instances. We’re also aiming to mitigate overcrowding at essential retail stores – particularly in our grocery stores. Under this Executive Order, all essential retail must indefinitely limit the number of customers allowed in their stores to NO MORE than 50% of their approved capacity. Additionally, customers & employees must wear face coverings. Stores must also provide special shopping hours for high-risk individuals, erect physical barriers between customers and cashiers and baggers where practicable, regularly sanitize areas used by their employees, & more. This Executive Order will also put greater protections in place for workers at our warehouses, and in manufacturing. No one should be working where social distancing isn’t being practiced to its fullest extent.

The only place I've been (other than walks outdoors) in the past 4 weeks is the pharmacy. While I'd like to have a couple of masks, I don't really sew, so it's a no go for me. To be honest, other than picking up prescriptions (the delivery service isn't taking new clients) and walks I hope to not have to go anywhere until the state is feeling a lot better about the virus sitch so they're not a big priority for me.

Not currently, but I did take a scarf (best I can do) with me the last time I went for groceries in case the store was requiring it.

I voted every time I go out but that's just to the store. When DH and I go for long walks, we do not wear one as we often do not see anyone else and, if we do, everyone is keeping their distance.

Just started to this week. I'm a private caregiver and I had to go to the store on Tuesday and hadn't been in over a week and a half and thought I was gonna be the only one with it on. I was pleasantly surprised to see about 80% of the people with masks on. DH just bought me a variety of masks some people have made at work, for me to have when I need to go out to the pharmacy, Dr appointments and what not for my job.

I haven't been out yet, but I do have one to wear. DH has been braving the stores and he is wearing a mask and he said most everyone was wearing masks. I spoke with some friends and they said they are all wearing masks.

my vote was no- I don't sew 'real' stuff, so I won't be making any myself. right now I'm in my 3rd week of working from home, so I feel pretty confident about my own health status. I went in to work last Saturday for a couple hours (only saw two other people the whole time I was there), and will have to go in to the office tomorrow. My workplace is now taking your temperature when you go in, and if it's over 100.4 you're sent home. You can't go back unless / until a doctor says you don't have COVID-19.

I've only been to the grocery store and it was not crowded (commissary on Air Force base). When we walk nobody is within 10 feet of us, let alone 6 feet, so we don't wear a mask. When DH had to run to Lowe's on Monday, we did wear a bandana as a mask.

If I’m walking around the neighborhood (and it’s new construction with fewer than 20 occupied houses) I don’t wear one. If I’m going to the store I will wear one. except I'm in a well established neighborhood. Everyone is cooperating with crossing the street, etc., so we don't pass each other on the sidewalk and I don't feel the need to wear a mask (some are). The grocery stores are doing their best but many people are still not giving space once inside.

I do not, but grocery stores are about to require them on everyone, so I suppose I'll have to conform Since when? And where are you? Everyone around here is suddenly wearing masks, and now it's like they think they are invincible. No more distancing, no more leaving space for people, no more caution. One ass practically tripped me in the grocery this morning trying to nudge in front of me to grab something. I turned and stared at him and he had the *fucking* nerve to pull his mask away and ask me why I wasn't wearing a mask. I just said I liked taking my chances, and hoped he liked it too. Asshole.

What type of thermometer do they use that is used on everyone? I wasn't sure if they have disposable thermometers? I have always wondered this! We don't have a thermometer, ever since the kids were little, the ones we have are unreliable.

In Dubai, we are required to wear a mask and gloves to go grocery shopping (If not we will be fined) They check your temperature at the door and have put up plexiglass barriers between the cashier and costumer.

for maryland: I'm guessing the company has a digital one that you can just 'shoot' at the person to measure? kind of like this one, maybe? I really don't know. I work for a nutritional supplement company manufacturing company, so I'm betting the company bought it thru their purchasing contacts. The safety guy is taking people's temperature as they go in the door, but I haven't had to go in since they started that policy.

I said every time. But clarifying that I only wear it if I go in a place of business etc. Not in the car and not on neighborhood walks. If I was walking in a busy park I might, but I don't go to parks right now.

About 80% of people here wear them. I even wear them when I go to the laundry room or to get the mail.
We "distance" to the best our ability on the sidewalk, but there's no way to stay 6' from everyone all the time - 3-4' is about the best I can do. If we didn't have a dog, I would go out less, but she has been a tremendous source of bonding and comfort for our family. People try to stay apart in the groceries, but again, it's not always possible. We don't have those wide aisles and SUV-sized shopping carts like the suburbs do!
