My go-to for comfort food is a soft cooked egg on toast. But yesterday, for the 3rd time this week I had tuna on a heavily toasted English muffin which apparently is another comfort food for me. So what’s yours? Other than chocolate of course

Pasta and/or potatoes. I've been really good at cutting back on them in the last year or so. As soon as this hit, all bets were off. Last week I had lasagne, spaghetti and cheese ravioli. Today's dinner will include mashed potatoes. For DH, it's apparently Poptarts. He was really thrilled when my grocery order included 3 boxes, all different flavors. They've been out of stock and I added 3 kinds as insurance of getting a single box. Figures I'd get them all!

The past few days it has been bread from the bread machine slathered in sour cherry preserves.

Ham and provolone sandwich on seeded rye with copious amounts of seeded mustard. Oatmeal. Fried egg sandwich with cheese. Loaded burrito. Pasta, except my body doesn’t do pasta very well. My pandemic comfort foods are different from my usual comfort foods, which are like ice cream and creamy desserts. I’ve had an unopened pint of Cherry Garcia in the freezer for a month.

A soft boiled egg on a crusty white roll. I could eat it every day and seemingly did from the ages of 3 to about 8. 😄

She likes the one that’s apparently like s’mores.

Extra wide egg noodles or elbow macaroni with butter.
Biscuits and country gravy.

Chicken salad from the Deli. I eat it every day for lunch—usually with a handful of grapes.

Bread. Preferably homemade. Followed closely by cookies or brownies.

Fried egg on toast sandwich. When I was younger, it was oatmeal (the kind you cook on the stove) with Pet Milk. That was how my mom ate it and it was so good!
Another thing is mac and cheese in the microwave. I saw it on fb. It's equal portions of elbow macaroni and water. Microwave for 2 minutes and stir. Repeat 2 more times. Once the water is nearly evaporated and mac is done, add cheese, milk, butter etc and microwave in 30 second intervals until it's melted. Sometimes I add diced ham, peas, broccoli to it. It's good and no pans to wash.

I've been craving tuna noodle casserole for days and will eventually break down and make it.
I did make a chickpea "tuna" salad that hit the flavor spot but still craving the noddles.

DD bought me little egg poaching gadgets for Mother’s Day (which was 3 weeks ago here in the UK, right at the start of our lockdown). Luckily for me we’ve been able to get plenty of eggs when shipping so I’ve had poached eggs several times lately. Definitely a comfort food for me.

I normally would have said chicken and mashed potatoes, but I’ve found during this lockup when I’ve been sad, scared, missing my mom and the rest of my family, I’ve reached for breakfast foods more often. Egg-in-the-hole, cereal with toast, poached eggs, pancakes. Those foods remind me more of my mother so they’re more comforting.

We actually got generic strawberry at the grocery store and we love them! My husband doesn't eat them much, but my daughters and I love them.

Crackers. I make sure I keep refilling my stash when I shop. Current favorites are Ritz Hint of Salt and Triscuits.

I don't buy Pop tarts, because I'd eat them all. Yum.
Mine has been mac and cheese, using Alton Brown's recipe. But, I substitute nondairy milk and sheep's milk cheese. It's delicious.

Pasta -- anything with lots of stringy cheese -- is probably my all time comfort food.
A good greasy handmade hamburger patty grilled and served on a soft bun with just Duke's mayo and pickles is a close second.
I'm not a snacker at all. There's no typical snack food that I crave.

Lately I've been craving cheese pizza (with lots of dried oregano on it), pasta of any variety, and loaded mashed potatoes. So carbohydrates and cheese.
