Not wanting to start a debate, just genuinely curious! It seems as though my friends and family are split about 50/50, curious about the peas!

Yes, once or twice a week. Only from locally owned places we're trying to help stay in business - no corporate chains.

No. Just don’t want to take any unnecessary risks. BF has COPD, so I’m not risking it.

I just started last week and have gotten take out twice. I couldn't handle all of the cooking anymore. So far I am just sticking to local mom and pop places that I want to make sure survive this.

I selected yes, although it's really only DSO and DS who have been having takeaway (Hungry Jacks and Maccas). Although I do admit to having a hash brown when they did their last Maccas run.

No, we have stay at home orders. Do you not have delivery? We still order from Uber Eats occasionally but a lot less than we used to, in part bc we were eating that way so often before all this that I'm actually kind of tired of it and enjoying eating our own food.

Yes, if it becomes a problem, we'll stop, but I feel like there are a bunch of great restaurants n town that could use the support.

We did today for the first time. We bought Easter dinner and they put it in the trunk. We Lysol sprayed the outside of the containers when we got home before they went in our basement fridge. I put them in our own dishes to reheat in the oven and I used a thermometer to make sure all the dishes (that were precooked) were reheated to the correct temperature.
I told my DH that we could do it once every 2 weeks and do something similar-moving the food to our own dishes and reheating them.

No. To me the risk isn't worth it. 2 medically complex kids and I was born with a CHD and have medical conditions as well.

We just did for dinner last night and picked up brunch to cook today, from the same spot. We won’t make a habit of it though, even though the food was so stinking good and it was so nice not to cook!

Yes, there is DoorDash and a few other delivery services, no Uber Eats as no Uber in my city in Canada. I am just not going to eat out. I rarely eat out anyway and I can cook for myself. When you are on a strict budget, you make do.

No, I just don’t want to take the risk. I wish I wasn’t so paranoid about it, I’m tired of cooking!!

I was adamant for the first few weeks that we wouldn’t get take out, but I broke down and we’ve ordered pizza twice from our favourite local pizza place because we want it to still be there when all this is over.

I haven’t done take out for over a month so far. I think they are in contact with too many customers daily.
I am really aiming at minimal contact for sourcing food. I was food shopping once a week and now I am trying to food shop every 2 weeks. So there is no way I’m going out to get one meal! I am only shopping at a small local grocery store that wasn’t popular before the pandemic, I won’t even go to a popular place like Costco right now. Too many people.

We are - once a week from a locally owned restaurant (rotating through our favorites). Trying to do our part to keep them open. None of us have major health issues and DH & I are both working at home. We are removing food from the takeout containers, washing hands and choosing options to minimize contact. My DH was in restaurants before becoming a teacher, we are both still working and receiving our salaries, for us this is a small way to support our local economy.

Nope. Everything we're eating is made at home. No going out at all other than grocery store.

About once a week from local places that I want to support. And I’m neurotic about transferring the food to a clean plate, warming it up, throwing out the packaging and washing hands.

Yes, we go to the post office twice a week to pick up our mail. On one of those days, we’ll pick up lunch. That is our treat for the week.

we have gotten takeout 2-3 times a week.. local places we like...I was about to cook salmon cakes tonight and my dh decided he wanted indian food. the places are very very close to us and the food arrives hot. my daughter even walked a mile down the main drag and had a burger from the local drive in.. we are not that worried about it.. we also know the health dept ratings on these places.. very good. but it is parr of our urban life..

I hate take out.
You get screwed with smaller portions and no refills.
We hadn’t done take out this whole time (we’ve been in for a month), but we decided to today as a treat for Easter.
We ordered from our favorite restaurant and it cost twice as much for less food than when we dine in.

Yep! About twice a week. Friday’s we pick up an unbaked pizza and Saturday we do curbside pick up. Because we live so far out we end up heating it up anyway. There is basically no contact with the curbsides. I want to support mostly local restaurants, and they appreciate it very much.
