We are still having our housecleaner come. We have an agreement to tell each other if anybody in our families get sick before the visit.

I didn't read through the responses, but I think she'll be eligible for PUA? Not sure how much she makes as a house cleaner, but it possibly be close to what she makes now.
My husband cleans our house, he's still getting all the perks he did before!

Ironic because this was on my mind the last week. I hired a cleaning crew in September and over the course of 7 months she came 5 times to clean because she didn’t have availability for me every month. She was last at my house the second week in March and she said she would text me a confirmation for the next cleaning. We went into lockdown and she texted me a funny meme and I replied laughing and wished her well and said stay safe and that was the end of texts.
This is her week to clean and I said to my husband maybe we should pay her or at least pay half. He thinks not because she never confirmed a future date and was inconsistent before with cleaning. Hmmm?

I am paying our housecleaner even though I asked her not to come. She has come a couple hours once a week for many years, and I will continue to pay her because I know her situation and I know she needs this income. My dh and I are both still working, so I feel like it's a small thing we can do right now. So far, we haven't done anywhere near the cleaning that she would have done. We're home all day working very hard and using the kitchen and bathrooms much more than we normally would do. I joked with my dh that we have to keep paying her so she doesn't hate us when she comes back. She might have to work doubly hard for a few weeks/ months to get our house back in shape.

We have chosen to pay and for us it’s the right thing to do.

I have a somewhat new house cleaner. I, unfortunately, am going to let her go after all this. I'm not loving how she cleans. She was supposed to come 2 weeks ago, but she didn't and I did not pay her. I'll tell her later that I'm not having her back. I could have written this^^ We had a great cleaner and she was willing to go that bit further if there was time, for some reason she always managed to do the cleaning expected and then some. It may have just been wiping the kitchen cupboard door over or cleaning windows as she went but there was always something. She was very thorough and we were very happy with her coming here. She told us that she was moving 45+ minutes away and so she wouldn't be coming anymore just as the virus started and so we sadly wished her well. Her sister, who also cleans came and did for us a couple of times but nothing like Annie and we weren't happy, she was unreliable and we had to chase her up every fortnight to make sure she was coming. So I have since used the virus as an excuse with social isolation and asked her not to come anymore. We are in no hurry - our DD will do what we need short term.

However long it takes. We consider ourselves her employer. If our family reaps the benefits of various employers continuing to pay us, I feel a responsibility to extend the same benefit. Meanwhile, I’m scrubbing toilets, so, admittedly, my stance is not without its flaws... HEY!!!!!!!!! Where have you been??? You are a sight for sore eyes!

We have had the same person with us since we moved to Morocco. She kept DD while I worked in our schools and really treated her as her own. She cooks and cleans for us as she is a full-time employee with us. We pay her a salary once a month. I made a promise to her upfront when we knew the lockdown was coming that she would continue to receive her pay. She is a widower with two girls. She really is like family to us so keeping her afloat is a priority.

I voted "other" because I've never had anyone come in and clean my house.

I haven't had a house cleaner in years as I have plenty of time and energy to do it myself. (And frankly, I like the quality of my work better, too. Lol.)
If I still had someone who was a regular, I would try to keep paying though if I could. I am doing that with my hair stylist and massage therapist. Both are arguing that will "credit" me that amount for later services, but we'll see. I'm pretty darn stubborn too.

We are still having our housecleaner come. We have an agreement to tell each other if anybody in our families get sick before the visit. My concern is that people are contagious before they know they are sick. When you invite them into your home, you're increasing your risk substantially when those people are in contact with many others on a regular basis. In this case, their other clients and the people the clients have been in contact with..... Totally not worth it in my book. Our house is far from spotless right now but I'm busy sewing masks which is taking higher priority...

My house cleaner is currently a permanent fixture. She's a bit rubbish to be honest, but she's been picking out random things to deep-clean, which is cheering. Thankfully there are no complaints from the rest of the household. She doesn't get paid any more than she ever did.
