elaineI don’t know how super picky you are about puzzles, but I know you like Disney ones like I do and I found some 500 piece ones at the Dollar Tree. Since they are small they won’t take long to put together, I finished mine during a movie, but for a buck I am fine with that. The quality is much better then I expected, pieces were decent thickness, fit nicely and the picture was cute. The one I did tonight was a princess one. I got a Toy Story one, a Minnie one and a Donald Duck one. A few more pieces then a normal puzzle were stuck together when sorting, but the pulled apart cleanly. I always separate ones that come hooked together . Anyway, if you ever venture near a Dollar Tree it might be worth checking out.

Has anyone here done a puzzle made by Pomegranate Puzzles? I'm just wondering about the quality, as well as the shapes of the pieces. Looking for good quality, but none of the oddly shaped pieces. I just ran across their Charley Harper puzzles and really like them, but would like to get some feedback before I order if possible. Thanks! These are a couple I am considering. Pomegranate puzzles are wonderful. Really high quality, good fit on the pieces. Good solid “feel” on the pieces and never any loose edges to the paper. Regular shaped pieces that align (I hate the one that don’t). I’m an admitted puzzle snob and since we discovered Pom last year we’ve probably added 20 of these to our collection based on the gorgeous and very different artwork. (tried to add a picture of our current, but getting a message that the forum is out of space? It’s Melody by Olga Suvarova.)

I love their Edward Gorey ones.

tenakee and Skellinton - Thank you both for your feedback! I'm happy to hear they are very good quality because I do love their designs. Will have to decide which puzzle I want to do first and order it this week.

I finished Michael Storrings' 500 piece NYC Subway puzzle today. Quick and fun. Starting a "Votes for Women" one my friend lent me next.

I gave up on one I started - so frustrated with myself! I bought a puzzle, not realizing that it was one where the front picture doesn’t match the actual puzzle. I got halfway through and then stalled, only being able to place about 4 pieces per hour. They repositioned all the fish, added some new ones, and changed the color of some of them. So, I finally just put it all back in the box. Since it was no longer fun, I decided to just scrap it. I started Down on the Farm by White Mountain and am back in the groove.

"Votes for Women" 500 piece borrowed from a friend. Don't recall I've ever done a circular puzzle before. Fun and informative. They listed all women except for Frederick Douglass who was not just an abolitionist but also for women's rights.

Springbok The Bait Shop. Loved all the fishing gear. Think I’ll start a Fall-ish one.

This was our weekend entertainment as we hunkered down to stay away from the smoke. My mom sent this to me because she knows I love looking at the doors in European cities. Really enjoyed putting this together.

Well apparently choosing Medium size is not the way to go-sorry about the size of the top one! These are both 1,000 pieces. Top is Love Stamps by White Mountain and bottom is Springbok Garden Goodness. I really enjoyed both.

silverlining - I did the seed packets back in the Spring. Really loved that one! I’ve almost bought the “love stamps” a few times. LOL

We finally pulled out a puzzle again last weekend. We hadn’t done any for quite a while. This one was tougher than expected, not least of which because the side edge pieces were not included in the picture. It was good quality though. No crumpled pieces and very little dust. My DH picked this one out, so I made him help me 😊

Wow that's a lot of puzzles in one weekend! I'm going to imagine that there were four adults all working on them so I don't feel too inadequate

seaexplore I’ve never seen pieces like the cat one ! That looks really hard ! It was really hard! I started with the fish, did the ear with the red in it, worked the right side, did the other ear, worked across the top between them, then down the left side, then across the bottom and then filled in all the rest. It got to the point where we were trying ANY piece! You start looking at patterns within the pieces and for "ins" and "outs".

Finished my latest puzzle tonight. It took me over 2 weeks, but I've been busy doing other things. It was also a bit harder than I expected it to be. It was my first Pomegranate puzzle and I was very pleased with the quality. This one is City Limits by Charles Lynn Bragg. The animals weren't too tough, it was all that green! My next puzzle will be Full Bloom by Hiro Isono -

I finally finished this bad boy. All the pieces were freaking shades of fuzzy gray with dots. By far the hardest one I’ve done yet.
