I posted a very simple political statement on my FB page last night, which is HIGHLY unusual for me. It was not inflammatory. It was not accusatory. It was simply an expression of my concern for people who could find themselves in jeopardy. Someone from my long-ago past decided to come on to my page and defend the public figure in question six or eight extended paragraphs at a time to friends of mine he doesn't even know. And he would then bait them at the end of each statement with a platitude like, "You have a nice evening." Or, "But thanks for your considerate response." (ETA: While not political in nature previously, he has behaved similarly in the past). This went on all day today, and by tonight, I had had enough. I was out and about and tried to delete the entire thread, but for some reason, my phone wouldn't delete it, so I planned to delete when I got home. By that time, another friend hit him with an F-bomb, which I also didn't appreciate on my page, generating another condescending reply from Mr. Know It All. Suffice it to say the post is now gone and Know It All is moved to my "restricted" list on FB. For gosh sakes, dude, if you have that much to say on this topic and you don't like the way I presented it or the way my friends agreed with me, take it to your own $#@!$ page and blather on about your own opinions there. And for the love of all that is holy, when you go, please take with you your sickeningly cloying platitudes, which everyone can clearly see through anyway. I know they make you feel like you've been respectful and level-headed, but NO. Just UGH!!! Okay, I'm finished now. Promise....
