Thank you flanz, for posting this. Tough read, but I truly feel for these healthcare workers. @peasapie, your daughters are in my prayers and thoughts. I had no idea that things are done in such a very horrifying manner for this virus. Not sure if this is the new way of going about it or what, but it sounds absolutely horrifying to me. (I've had 46 surgeries but I have an irrational fear of needles). I feel SO badly for all of the healthcare workers who are unable to save these patients. I agree that they'll need therapy, akin to when you fought frontlines in an active war and now have PTSD. DH & I used to have a primary doctor in Morristown. Great place for good medical care. I just can't imagine all of this.

They're all going to have PTSD after this. I mentioned this to my son the other day. He normally works in the cardiac theatres but has been moved to critical care. He says staff here have been given help lines for counselling so hopefully more mental health care will be available as this progresses. Hopefully other countries will be doing this too. He said “I’m supposed to help people recover, not watch them die”. My DH was a counsellor for the NHS workers at the Countess Hospital but their funding ran out so he no longer works there. Let’s hope more funding is found or that they allow volunteers to counsel. I hope your son is OK.
