She's already posted extra handouts with ways to adapt the first sketch and other layout ideas. That alone is well worth the cost to me.

Yes, there was a LOT of info for just 5% of the class. Loved all of her options for just one sketch. When I saw the number of people in the class, 1.2K, I realized that she made some serious cash selling an online class/set of sketches for $12 each (with no print cost). I imagine that she wants to make sure we all love what is being offered so we are more apt to buy a second time. By providing so many different sketches, word will get around and the next time she offers a sketchbook/class even more people will be interested. I think she is just making good business decisions for this set of 20 sketches.

YES!!! I have worked through 6x6 Vol 1 and 2 as a group on a different forum and love it every time. Even the sketches that are not my favorite. I learn something new every single time. This time, I am trying to do my own layout BEFORE I look at her sample she posts each week. I just know myself and know that if I don't look, I'm likely to be a little bit more creative and less influenced or tempted to scraplift lol. I'm editing my 6x6 prep video now, then going to get started on sketch 1. Theres a different forum??

Her logic behind closing the group to new members once it's commenced is sound in my opinion. Basically because it's working through one sketch a week, she is wanting to maintain the focus for that week on the current sketch. If people join midway through they're quite understandably likely to want to go back and start from the beginning which will clutter up the group feed. But I would also be bummed if I missed out on the group because I purchased the ebook too late. Has anyone tried contacting her to see if she is open to having people who have purchased the ebook join the group once the live run is finished?

I love your layout, justjac! I have my layout 1/3 of the way completed... I decided (inspired by Allison's super-stitching) that I would stitch on both pages of my layout... eek!! And, although I have the *idea* for the layout, I don't have the photos printed. So it will be a while before mine is done, lol!

Did y'all watch her video for week 2? She said she's been blown away by all of the inspiration and sharing in the FB group and that she wants to do more classes in that format!! 💃[that is my happy dance!!]

But I'm hoping she will repeat the class later. I am thrilled that she has so many signed up and is making some "serious cash". Allison and SG put out alot of freebies and content so I don't begrudge her/them making some cash on this little money spinner. I don't think we should under estimate how much much time and effort has been spent on great sounding info/content, i.e. all the hours spent drawing the sketches, creating a LO, editing a video, managing the Facebook group for this time AND all of those times when 1.2k people do NOT buy a sketchbook. $12 is a bargain.

I agree!! when I saw the first week info, and realized she actually put together a PDF of the video text, a PDF of the alternate sketch ideas, was doing all the work to figure out how to get closed captioning for those who need it, etc. I was floored!!

I have almost all of her sketch books (actual books) and have purchased many of her digital ones too. I bought her first book right after it came out. Not begrudging any money she makes on this. I have created thousands of page kits and scrapbook kits for a friend who sells. I know how much work goes into selling product. My intent was not to make it sound like it was easy but that she was going above and beyond because so many people like what she does.

I 100% agree! This is my first purchase from SG but I’m a very happy customer. I was just telling my husband that this was the best $12 I’ve spent for scrapbooking for a long time.

I told my husband the same thing. I love how many pictures she includes. Most sketches that I come across have 1-3 smaller photos.

justjac that is an amazing layout for Christmas morning. I am not a holiday scrapper so the latest sketch she provided would work for me so well if I could just get my butt in gear to get all the photos together! I agree with others, there is a TON of information and inspiration shared! I have been a little slump since all this started so its nice to be able to go to one place and find so much!

This latest sketch as is is tough as I just don’t have that many photos of a single event currently. But the single page layout was perfect for some pics I’ve been holding on to. I love the options.

Keep in mind that just because the sketch shows a set number of photos, you can go above or below that number. So in an area showing (2) 3x3s you can change to (1) 3x6 and eliminate one photo right there. With Sketch #5 you could even remove one or both outer edges and do a strip of paper, or a longer journaling area.

Or replace any 3x3 space with patterned paper and embellishments or use it as a journaling spot.

For those of you that missed out on the first round of this - She is opening up a second group, for the same set of sketches. You can join the second group from Sept 1-28th. Working through the sketches starts in OCT. She's got a post on her blog, with the particulars. I'm link challenged, but her blog is www.allisondavis4sg.com She gives so much information and so many sketch variations, worth well more than the $12 for the sketch pack.
