High of 108* this week, feels like the 7th circle of hell with a mask on! I wasn't ready for Christmas when I 1st opened this thread, with the prospect of not being able to spend it with my large extended family. I don't miss going to restaurants, movies, shopping or stuff like that. I miss going to my moms, MIL's, bday parties, holidays, and hanging out with my brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, their kids, my sister-in-law's and their families! Butttt.... after reading your sleepingbooty posts you made me smile and laugh and definitely got me into the Christmas spirit! It is my favorite holiday after all. So I will try and be optimistic like you Ms. Booty and play along! I wish they would come out with a Griswold Christmas vacation line! That is my all time favorite Christmas movie and the lines from it are classics! It's funny, smartass, miserable, happy, everything Christmas is!! I would also like a Christmas line that does not include snow or snowflakes. Cause we do not get snow at Christmas, ever!! Or snow in the winter really. Maybe once every few years! As for lines, simple stories is usually a must for me, doodlebug for the little ones in my life, and crate paper is also usually a must. So let's see what they release!

I bought the spring pack and just finished 4 double page layouts using it. I loved the colors. 1. Which Christmas collection reveals are you looking forward to this year? 2. Which Christmas collection do you wish would exist but haven't found yet? (particular themes, colours, aeshetic, phrases, etc.) 1. Not sure. I like a little of everything. I've had some of my Christmas papers for so long, I feel like starting with something new. Usually I just make it work.
2. I've seen bits and pieces of what I prefer. Red, white, black, bits of green, a retro mid century modern vibe.
I wish they would come out with a Griswold Christmas vacation line! That is my all time favorite Christmas movie and the lines from it are classics! It's funny, smartass, miserable, happy, everything Christmas is!! Here's a stamp set

What is the Citrus Twist christmas kit like usually? Would you rate it better / as good as / don't bother, Ali E wins hands down when compared to the December Daily offerings from Ali E??

I’m not a fan of the gnomes, but otherwise love that Photoplay collection! Lovely bright colours, and a clean bright white. The paper with the fairy lights is gorgeous! Hahaha- I also love that Christmas lights paper- made a mental note for 3 pieces of that!

I know it probably won't happen but it would of been nice if companies and kit clubs released their Holiday items even earlier this year since shipping has become an issue especially for our International peas.

Butttt.... after reading your sleepingbooty posts you made me smile and laugh and definitely got me into the Christmas spirit! It is my favorite holiday after all. So I will try and be optimistic like you Ms. Booty and play along! It might not be the usual Christmas season we know and love but it will still be Christmas. We will still be looking to turn on the light and find some comfort in the darkness (of winter and of a scary virus). It will still be a moment of celebrating and it will definitely be worth documenting. If anything, it'll make us appreciate the true spirit of the holiday even more. So, with that in mind, I hope you can find it in you to embrace your favourite holiday and cling to it as a beacon of light during these difficult times. Don't let the pandemic keep you away from what you love... Red, white, black, bits of green, a retro mid century modern vibe. Oooh, nice! I've got a feeling the mid-century modern aesthetic is here to stay a bit longer so hopefully you'll find just the *right* collection this year. Not really waiting on any particular collections and I have a ton of Christmas stamps and dies that I just have to start using! Look at you being all level-headed in a Christmas thread! Oh Booty, you stop it! 😂 I'm in the middle of deciding what size above-ground pool to buy (smallish)! Smallish leaves enough extra cash for some pretty Christmas papers, right? Lol maybe I should wait until Monday to finish it? Yes, I plan to play in June!! YAY! You're definitely going to want to play along in June... #justsaying What is the Citrus Twist christmas kit like usually? Would you rate it better / as good as / don't bother, Ali E wins hands down when compared to the December Daily offerings from Ali E?? I think there are solid other options outside of Ali Edwards these days. Kelly Purkey might even design for another company in 2020 so who knows? We'll have a better idea for actual kits by the end of the summer. You can see the kit Citrus Twist curated last year here if you're interested. It was quite full for $50. I know it probably won't happen but it would of been nice if companies and kit clubs released their Holiday items even earlier this year since shipping has become an issue especially for our International peas. Fingers crossed! I wouldn't count on it too much, especially with possible delays for the goods they've ordered from China but one can hope? I definitely think Felicity Jane will not be a good option for internationals this year.

I don't like gnomes so I think I won't be ordering any of that unless my DGD goes to a store with gnomes and starts carrying one around with her. Actually, with DIL being a gardener, I guess I could buy her a garden gnome and pose DGD with it if it comes to that.
The Christmas lights paper is something I will use. I believe I still have one or two sheets of Paper Pizzazz paper very much like this.
Collections I would like to see? Maybe something 50's, 60's, 70's themed? I've scrapped most all of those photos but I love a good theme and those decades to have specific color palates associated with them that could be fun in a Christmas Collection.

I really like the Lumberjack collection. I have a hard time using a limited color palette; so while I like it, I know it would be unwise to purchase because it would never get used. Thank you for sharing!

Just saw the mega bundles for these on SB.com! Eep, there's chipboard and everything! Farmhouse Christmas is a bit of a letdown. CB have done extremely similar collections for the past 2 maybe even 3 years. There are literally designs that are repeated. But I guess people are loving it? Can't wait to see Steven Duncan's Christmas collection now! But oh my, they expanded Little Lumberjack which I loved last year to become a Christmas collection! EEEP, the cuteness is off the charts. Per the SB.com sneak, there's a chipboard piece of the lumberjack Santa. HIDE MY BANK CARD! This is adorable times adorable. Going to tag grammadee for the Canadian vibes in this one. PS: CB are doing a Halloween Market collection this year and I'm in love. I'm getting some Spellcast vibes, to this day my favourite Halloween line ever. Who wants to start the 2020 Halloween collections thread? I'm ready for the spooky stuff too... ETA: Skellinton dawnnikol Major Haunted Mansion/Phantom Manor feels from this paper and the B-side of this one in Halloween Market!

I've had some time to reflect on Steven Duncan's new Christmas line and analyse why I'm not loving it (much to my chagrin). Obviously, being childfree, the more child-centric lines are less my vibe but I've noticed the disappearance of not only my beloved Duncan border strips but also of the big scenery paper. Those were very reflective of the narrative element in his artwork and I've always loved and admired the storytelling depth in his collections. I suppose I'm mourning the loss of these. I'm still hoarding the big scenery papers from his 2019 Merry Christmas and 2018 Santa's Workshop lines. They're absolutely beautiful! However, I adore the reindeer design in Dear Santa. I wish he'd do a reindeer-themed Christmas line with that aesthetic, very mid-century modern and reminescent of what he did for Family Night. As a matter of fact, I'd love a reindeer x Family night crossover. Something about all the silly stuff the reindeers are up to while Santa's busy in his workshop with the elves... Baking reindeers, reindeers playing a boardgame, reindeers peeking into Santa's workshop through a snowy window, etc. The painted brick fireplace is superb, too. I'll need to buy the chipboard accents just for the reindeer and fireplace, for sure!

Thank you sleepingbooty for this thread, I totally needed it today! After last year's craft extravaganza of an album, I'm going back to pocket pages this year. I didn't even look at much last year, so this year, it's on!

sleepingbooty the lack of a scene in the Steven Duncan line was the first thing I noticed about the collection, and without it I feel like the collection is missing it's star moment. I framed the one of Santa's village from a couple of years ago. I would totally get on board with a reindeer themed collection from him, I love his reindeer (and those little birds he sometimes includes)!

After last year's craft extravaganza of an album, I'm going back to pocket pages this year. I didn't even look at much last year, so this year, it's on! You bet! Will be cheering for you from the sidelines... "Get it, get that Christmas collection you love, GET IT!" sleepingbooty the lack of a scene in the Steven Duncan line was the first thing I noticed about the collection, and without it I feel like the collection is missing it's star moment. Like you, I'm hoarding the North Pole paper from Santa's Workshop. It's perfection. And there's a reindeer landing strip right there, in the foreground, jussayin'... Reindeer Christmas collection conspiracy tin foil hat ON!

EP and CB are usually the first to reveal their lines and have them on the market. The second wave normally includes Simple Stories. This means we'll see what the 2020 Simple Stories large spine Christmas album looks like soon! They alternate between a classic and more modern Christmas collection to add the album to. After last year's very traditional pick, it should be in one of their contemporary lines this year...
Eep, exciting!

That Steven Duncan line does not look like his usual style at all! I know it is a bit retro but it seems to be missing all of the things that make his papers stand out. He usually has a more sophisticated color palette than that. I usually buy up all of his stuff but this is too young and cutesy for me.
I'm sure I'll like his future designs but this is a miss for me.

Wow, you guys are right, the Steve Duncan Christmas line doesn't like like him at all!! Weird! But I do like it! I love me a classic Santa. I also can't wait to see what Simple Stories Christmas album is gonna look like. I did not like the classic look from last year at all! So I'm hoping your sleepingbooty right about the change in aesthetic this year!! But, I may be actually leaning towards a citrus twist album for DD. Smaller and more manageable for me.

I totally agree that the Steve Duncan line doesn't look like his work. I don't need another Christmas product in this lifetime so I guess that its good for my wallet but I hope they have not required him to change his style.

She’s done most of their Christmas/Winter lines the past several years.
