Why in the heck does there need to be a rainbow?!?! Enough with the odd rainbows. Good gosh. I'm not liking what I am seeing from CP yet. I will hold final judgement till it is all released tomorrow. Also bring back the fat Santa. I like them round. Wow tomorrow?? At least that’s way, way earlier than last year so people can plan their spending and not be disappointed.

I'm not a fan of this type of childish/handdrawn graphic style anyway - it's way too LLP for me. I know others love it though. It's just not my thing. And yeah, I can do without the Christmas rainbow.

UK brand The Paper Boutique is headed to scrapbook.com for 2020 Christmas with Christmas Cuddles (aimed at cardmaking) OMG! I love, love, love the colors! Must buy.
First Crate Paper Sneak is up! I'll pass on that one.

That snowman next to the deer is down right scary! Reminds me of Mr Hanky the Christmas Poo from South Park. Hiiiiiidddeeeehoooooo Kyle. And also Gumby. The weird waxy mouths wide open. I am going to have nightmares

The first CP sneak to wake up to? Yes, please. Eh, ladies, I'm 50/50 on this. So far, I'm really down with the colour scheme, the skinny Santa and heck, even the pompom stocking although stockings are not a thing around here. I can never use those darn design elements! But a swan, AGAIN? I'm running out of December stories to use with the mandatory CP swan icon. No más, por favor. I have no clue about the rainbow. What were they thinking? And the gumdrops, well, they aren't a thing around here either. If I use those in my album, anyone flipping through it will be confused about those random wooly hats with some snow on them. Really, I only remember the Christmas association to gumdrops because I've watched loads of Christmas Hallmark movies over the years and sat through way too many gingerbread house decoration scenes. *deep sigh* Let's wait and see until the full thing is revealed today, I guess. Re: scary TH snowman. I think the design was inspired by super smiley Olaf with his huge front teeth and it went a little wrong...

Ohhh I can get on board with Crate Paper. The colours are great for summer, the rainbow works because every year we get a massive storm in December with a beautiful rainbow, we have black swans floating around here... I look forward to seeing more.

The most anticipated Christmas collection has just dropped! *alarm bells going off* Gah, the colours are very Christmassy... Here is Crate Paper's Hey, Santa:

Hey, Santa is such a mix of Crate Paper's previous Christmas collections. Those houses immediately transported me back to Fa La La. As a matter of fact, a lot of this is very much a modernised version of Fa La La... I wish we'd gotten a nice white background for the entire collection instead of so much cream but cream is CP's go-to... I love that they've reintroduced the clear retro touches that they were known for. It breaks the modern, doodly aesthetic up well. Waiting to see if the village/town paper with all the houses has a diverse cast of mini characters. Fa La La's version of this paper had dark skin tones so hoping they've not whitewashed this one. Still on board with "skinny" Santa. Don't shoot me! ETA: And the sweetest snowman face ever. Aaah, I want to befriend him!

Okay, okay not bad! Not loving it, but there are several pieces of paper I will buy and lots of other goodies.
I am happy this line will work with last years line. I love that about CP. Then I feel like I didn't waste money when I can use the last 2 previous years paper and few left over embellishments with this years ya know?
CRATE PAPER, now I know this line was made awhile ago but here is an area where things can change for POC...
See that paper with the Santa heads?! Yes? Ok, good. You could have used various skin tones on them. An inclusive paper made for all beautiful skin tones not just white.
The santa embellishments and stickers? Include several of various skin tones.
Keep that in mind for next year eh?!

Also mushrooms for Christmas?! What the heck... Toadstools are a traditional Christmas décor in Europe hailing from Germany and called the G lückspilz (lucky mushroom). Mushrooms are also foraged around Christmastime, not just during autumn. You'll still find loads of red toadstool Christmas ornaments in Europe (even at IKEA) both for the tree and food (like on top of the Yule log). I thought it was a nice touch from CP to combine American Santa with European lucky Christmas toadstools. I still remember the retro glass clip-ons from aeons ago: Traditional bûche de Noël décor: From the IKEA 2018 Vinter collection: From the IKEA Vinter 2016 collection:

Toadstools...swoon!! I love mushrooms for Christmas decor, wish they were more popular in the US.
I've avoided this thread until July. June seemed too soon.
I love the Simple Stories line, but it seems like a blatant copy of last years Crate paper. I'm kind of shocked.
This year's Crate isn't doing much for me.
Thinking ahead to December Daily, assuming we are in some sort of shelter in place, I'm considering doing a 3x8 album. We won't be out and about as usual, little to no contact with extended family. If anyone knows of a YouTube walkthrough of 3x8 album, please let me know.,

Way too much pink in Crate Paper release. Sadly I haven't seen much that I have liked this year. To be honest I am really starting to get depressed over Christmas. Most of the things that I usually attend are probably not going to happen this year they are being cancelled and due to my health issues I don't want to be in crowds this year. My album will be mostly home decorations this year it looks like. I am going to have to get creative.

So much of my usual December routine will be gone this year but I'm trying to look at it like hibernating until a vaccine is available. It'll be a time for a very introspective and home-oriented Yuletide season, like back in the days when harsh winters prevailed and little defense from the cold outside existed. Loads of great classic Christmas movies to rewatch, seasonal music to play at home, hot cocoa recipes to try, hearty food to prepare, puzzles to finish, books to read. It won't be the same but it can still be a happy time even within the confinement of home. We will need to set ourselves different goals, keep our heads and hands busy but it can still be on very merry Christmas season...

Rosy Posy is gorgeous! The use of roses for Christmas doesn't make sense, but it works! Now that I've seen more of the Crate Paper line, that is a pass for me except I really like the non Christmas themed papers for everyday pages. Does the buffalo check thrown in there seem off in the overall design aesthetic? Like, hey we've got to compete with those other popular lumberjack/farmhouse lines. Throw in a little something to lure them in.

So, I like some of it (the red polka dot, striped and plaid papers, both sets of thickers, charms & tassels). I doubt I am quick enough to get it though once its in stores.

I see lots of baking pages, ornament and home decorations being documented. And I will definitely be making a point of going out in the car and documenting local decorations.

It's a great way to get daily inspiration and encouragement to keep going with this project. There's something special about completing one.

I like both the P13 Rosy Cozy Christmas and the CP line - I think it'd work well for a summer Christmas. Pity I have so much in my Christmas stash ETA I had earmarked some OA lines to use in my DD this year as I booked to go to the UK for Christmas with my brother and family but that's not going to be happening any time soon!

I am not sure how I feel about the new CP line. I appreciate them trying to spice things up and try to bring something new but somehow the color scheme does not feel fresh and has been done before and the images are all over the place. I do like Santa but not sure about the swans and mushrooms unless a mushroom is a new gnome this year. I am all set for this December Daily and am only looking for a few things that will be must haves but so far I have added just a few Simple Stories Cut apart papers into my cart. I guess we need to see what PinkFresh comes up with this year. Glad we are seeing all these collections at the same time and early with time to think thru the plans for this upcoming unusual Christmas season. I expect Photo Paper to come up with a Covid Christmas line, they have been quick in that field.
