Awful. This cowardice has got to stop. Put you name behind your convictions. @leowife I'm sorry this happened to you. We have an entire group of slimy people who slink off and come back under new screen names, sometimes several times. They are too weak and broken to stand up for their convictions honestly and openly. They are still posting on this board and for the most part we have a pretty good idea who they are. So this whole anonymous threat thing doesn't surprise me at all, but it as sickening as those who run and then come back with a new name. Who are the "we" in this? |

Yep - I saw it when it was done to Elaine. I am honestly at the point that the evil here is ruining the good. They get to do bullshit behavior and still are welcomed back in. And repeat. It gets old. Hold on. Someone posted Elaine's address, etc on this board? Either I missed it or forgot it completely. Holy cow. Yeah. It was someone who has a very vocal hate for her. I saw it (along with others) and it was reported to admin, but I dont know that any consequence was every given. |

This is a good time to remind everyone that when you signed up for proboards you had to opt out of having your email you signed up with visible on your profile. Make sure that your email address is not showing on your profile.
I am so sorry that happened. When/if the identity of the person sending such emails is found out I hope that it is made public so we know who to avoid.

But the board is public. Anyone on the internet would have access then. Anyone. Anyone googling threads related to the riots and police situation could have come to the board. There has to be another way to handle that. It was almost just a matter of time before someone somewhere on the internet abused that. Can we at least get those lists off the board now? Who ever organizes it and posts them could go back and delete, unless it has been quoted by others. We really need those deleted. I'm sorry someone did that leowife. There are lines that should not be crossed. Especially if you want to believe you are the one doing the right thing. To be clear - I am certain the only email posted on the board was @leowife 's. I wish we could close down access to this group from here on out. This core group. Who cares if we dwindle. At least we would have some safety and accountability. The problem with that is there is a rat in the core group. Either someone is being a co-asshole by giving another member the address, or the asshole is in the Christmas card group. Either way, there's at least one asshole that we have included in 2Peas. Exactly! but if we can out this person, and kick them off, then they can't come back under a new name. That's what a lot of Ps do. |

I am appalled, disgusted and also really sad and disappointed that a Pea would do this to a fellow Pea.
To the Pea who sent the email to leowife - by singling out a member of one group (LEOs) you are doing the exact same thing as a member of that group singling out a member of another group for punishment/hate/whatever you want to call it - you are profiling. You are assuming that every member of that group is exactly the same, and that is hypocritical and wrong. You should be ashamed of yourself. You are just as bad as any other person who profiles another person and spews hate.
@leowife, I'm so sorry. Please know that most of us here are good, reasonable people. We all don't agree on everything, but we try to accept the fact that others may have different thoughts and opinions as we do.
Let's all try remember the Golden Rule - "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", or in simpler terms, "Treat others the way you want to be treated."

ETA: email not included in spreadsheet. When you join the card exchange you get a list of everyone’s name, address ( so you can mail a card). This isn’t the first time this has happened. We had someone who refused to participate last year because someone (maybe two?) sent them hate mail instead of a holiday card. I’m guessing it’s the same person(s).   I didn't know this. I know this is getting overused, but W.T.F.? People can be so ugly. How does that hate grow and survive? I am at a loss to understand why anyone would do this. |

But the board is public though Mom. You don't need to be a member to read it. Anyone could have read that e mail if they googled a word that was being discussed. They don't even have to know of the existence of the board. But it is clear that this is related to the events of the past week. If someone happened upon this board due to googling any of the words connected to George Floyd, they wouldn’t know that leowife was the person who ran the Christmas Card exchange and therefore where to look for her email address. It would take a working knowledge of the board to put the pieces together to find her card email addy; and then to have her street address the person would have to have been a participant. Yes, there is the remote possibility that with hours of research, an unconnected-to-NSBR person could have eventually found all the information, but I don’t know what the motivation would be to target someone the researcher didn’t know. |

I have no doubt it’s a pea. This isn’t the first time the card exchange list was used to send hate mail. This isn’t the first time peas have obviously gotten too invested in whatever cause they’re into and taken it out on anyone who disagrees. We may think we “know” everyone here, but it’s clear that some peas are fucking nuts.
